I just found this thread because it's on sale for five bucks and wanted GAFs opinion. No wonder, remake about to come out.

Now I can just have decision paralysis like for most games!

Its one of the best puzzle games ever. But with the remaster coming soon, you might as well wait a bit.

Actually it's included in a bundle with the second game for $15, and given how much everyone loves that, I'll just get the pack. 2 is from 2023, and given it's not a Sony title, won't be remade soon.

40 € is so lame.

No upgrade price offered for owners of the original game is also very greedy.

Horizon Zero Dawn & Days Gone Remastered upgrades are 10 €
The Sinking City Remastered (UE5 also) will be free for owners of the original

No really, i cannot justify the 40 € price point.

Edit : In fact there is an "upgrade" kind of package for existing owner @ 30 €, still too expensive for me.

Very excited to play this "reawakened" version - I have previously played the original and the originals' DLC - both were fantastic.

for me - when the second game came out I played it and didn't want it to end - it was one of those game that I slowed down as I approached the end and only recently have seen the basic credits - I'm still wandering around and randomly completing some of the harder puzzles to get the more complete ending.

I see there exists a collection version - if you own the (original release) first and second games there is a 40% discount on the reawakened version which reduces the 40 dollar ask to 23.99 (USD)

I don't think this game qualifies as a "Metroidbraina" and is just a pure Puzzle game - but I love these types of games - the non-intrusive philosophical story and theme of the talos principal lets you sort of contemplate both the puzzle and story in a unique way - personally Talos scratches an itch that so few games do

wow - the original released in 2014 - neat.

The OG is flat out my favorite puzzle game of all time and one of my like 10 or so favorites. I really loved 2 as well, although not as much. I'm very much the target audience for this!

The 23.99 includes original Talos, Talos Reawakened and also Talos 2.
Weird Steam bundles where you get more games for cheaper than one.

edit-or is that because I alrady have 1 and 2?

I loved this game back when it was released, thanks to its intriguing level design, its ambience and the gorgeous music which makes for a perfect relaxed atmosphere for a puzzle game. Jumped at the chance to play the remaster and so far it's a decent remaster if not that different to how I remembered it. The graphics are obviously better now with better lighting and textures plus RT reflections and whatnot but, oddly, this is how the game looked in my mind's eye!

Only issue I've encountered so far on PC is some minor stuttering - it is Unreal Engine 5 though so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised - and broken DLSS frame gen (although AMD frame gen seems to work). I get 60-75 fps on maxed out 1440p setting with RT and DLAA whether DLSS frame gen is enabled or not. Enable AMD frame gen though and the framerate jumps to 120-125 fps.

Anyone else experiencing this?

My PC is an i5-13600KF, 32 GB, RTX 4080 FE running Windows 11 Pro 24H2. I'm using the latest 572.83 NVIDIA graphics drivers.
