Now that the right side is in power again in the USA and yesterday saw a lot of big issues signed into place it feels weird that we can't talk about any of them.

Enough time has passed since the January 6th incident and Trumps second term deserves to be talked about for all the amazing change he'll be bringing forth for American citizens and the worldwide stage itself.

Threads are already having politics seep into them as control over it has loosened over the past few weeks so why not just relax it completely, perhaps a one month trial run?

What say you other forum members, would you welcome the return of the politics section?

I'd say if there is going to be political discussion, as there has been recently, then there should be one. But I'd prefer sticking to the no politics rule instead.

It's gonna get a lot of people banned and cause a lot of stress/animosity between members, so I don't really care for it. That said, if it's going to be talked about, I'd prefer it in its containment zone again so you can choose to engage with it or not. Just my 2c.

It is a bit strange when big world events happen and we can't really discuss it here due to the rule, but I don't know if we need another political warzone.

I don't mind but people turn off their critical thinking abilities and defend their side blindly. There is hyper-partisanship in America and I feel like nothing good can come out of discussing politics on the internet. We can give it another shot though.

No, and if it returns many will probably leave. I'm fine with people having some strong opinions but politics turns people into idiots.

After the bloodbath earlier I don't think so. People get worked up way too easily with this stuff. We can barely stay civil with each other over video games.

I think EviLore EviLore is doing the right thing letting discussions exist on a case by case basis. That way we aren't completely starved.
