You know it's funny, the end of Parasyte mentioned there were still Parasytes out there but they've learned to stop eating humans and eat animal meat like the rest of us. I know the whole thing with Ghouls is they can't properly digest animals but surely surely they could figure out a way.

So why can't ghouls just subsist off mortuary leftovers? When a body is prepared for a funeral a lot of stuff is taken out.

This has always been the central flaw of Tokyo Ghoul, and this is speaking as someone who likes the manga ok; the Ghouls as a whole aren't that sympathetic when you consider the context. The main characters goes out of their ways to avoid causing any problems for society, limiting themselves to Humans who committed society, but they are the minority. All the other Ghouls are varying levels of assholes who only care about themselves.

And the author goes the Akame Ga Kill method of compensating for this morality issue by having the human antagonists being hilariously over the top immoral.
