Again, if your engaging in close quarters combat in space why not just make them mechs? Whatever, all thst matters is thst it looked cool.

Mechs don't make a whole lot of sense in space. Ok, ships with arms don't make much more sense either, but at least they do a little more, given the utility of them (the ISS has an arm for example).

Plus everyone does mechs. Very few do space ships with ARMS!
