For anyone curious, I wasted my time watching what was essentially the same 36 minute direct, in Japanese, without about 4 different/new games showcased. Only 2 of them are worth mentioning. The Capcom stuff was a small recap/reminder of Onimusha 2 and Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

This isn't a blow out of the water situation, they simply replaced western indie/budget games with JP budget games.
well it had it games that i want to come over here like the vn with the pc ui.

Can someone explain to me the virtual game card? This seems needlessly convoluted to me; can't I just download one game on my 1st Switch and download the same game on my 2nd Switch I also have my profile on? Like it is on PS5 and Steam? Log into my account and download the game on a second device?

Current rumor is that the C button is actually for connecting to another Switch, specifically that it can connect to Switch 1.

If true, this is exactly what I said they should do not to abandon the Wii U concept. Just allow other systems to act as additional Gamepads as the need arises, whether for GBA style download multiplayer or asymmetric gameplay a la Luigi minigame. Like other "big deal" features this becomes a standard kit that fades into the background instead of something to avoid forever.

I don't know. Usually I agree with your takes, but treating the Switch like a $300 controller to enable the gimmick that failed to gain any interest for the Wii U? It makes no sense... which, come to think of it, is the only reason I'd believe Nintendo planned to do it.

What would be nice, wireless connections-wise, would be the ability to stream to another screened smart device (be it Switch 1, Switch 2, a smartphone, or a tablet) for local multiplayer on the go. And if it just so happens to also do the Wii U thing, that might be worth the time to program.

No matter which way you frame it though, the basic idea doesn't seem like a gimmick worth the time to figure out. Maybe a demo will sell me on the concept (assuming it's true). *shrug*

If you buy a Switch 2 and your friend can use his Switch 1 to race you using his own screen, someone will figure out how to press the C button.
