Anecdotally speaking, the Alien franchise is enormous in the UK for some reason. ... No clue why.

Maybe because it was created by the fellow brit Ridley Scott.

I refuse to believe DS3 is as bad as everyone says. I'm playing through 2 right now, and it's excellent; it may be even better than the first. The third one will certainly be added to my plate during the next Steam sale.

Dead Space 2 is pretty good. I don't know if I prefer the first or the second (Visceral doesn't know how to end a game and, well, you'll see), but 3 was just bad for me. A few interesting chapters and the rest was just not good.

I'm sure Aliens is worse, but, honestly, who cares?

I've never quite understood why certain gamers crow and yell about UK gaming tastes being shit.

I see the same games in the rest of the euro charts and the NPD's.

I guess that's a result of Sonic being on a million platforms.

I fear for what the NPDs will look like. Hopefully this game does not sell well. Although in America I've been seeing a good amount of commercials for it.

The general game-buying population is not the same as the videogame enthusiast population, and a heavily marketed game set in a hugely popular universe getting to number 1 despite getting rubbish reviews doesn’t make us Brits weird.

Lots of other things do, but not that.
