I think people are just surprised at the way COD evolved from being a pretty grounded military shooter to just Fortnite flossing shit. And this really is pretty new, MW2019 and BOCW were not really like this.

I'm not in the target group that plays military multiplayer shooters, but if I were I imagine I'd want them to at least feel a bit authentic and this kind of stuff just seems completely out of place. Can you disable them from your point of view or are you forced to see them because some whale paid for them?

With the amount of data Activision has on their playerbase and player retention, Activision knows exactly what they are doing.

Like the failure of XDEFIANT put an end, forever, to the SBMM debate. It's over. Not saying that Activision is invincible by a long shot, but if this didn't attract players and revenue they wouldn't do it.

Part of the reason why I don't even bother with this franchise despite having some interest years back about trying it again. I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it if the game wasn't fixed to that end. I'm clearly not the audience but i'm more than okay with that as I haven't been apart of it for at least 12 years now.

not a chance, anyone who was going to "abandon" cod "over this crap", did so a decade ago when it actually started; this isn't something new and activision keeps doing this because they have a decade+ of data showing that it sells.
