Walmart Black Friday Video Game deals

Going to sit at home refreshing Amazon for 48 hours straight. As cheap as some of this is, being in Wal-Mart sucks enough without insane combative rednecks. They could be selling that tv for $50 and I still wouldn't take my chances.

All the people from the neighboring ghetto towns near me pile into Walmart.

I thought I was going to die last year from all the mobs of people.

I've been interested in ripping out my DVD's to my PC and I'd like a media center player for the other room so I wonder if it'd be worth it to get one of those 360's... Could sell off the Kinect stuff and with the Gift Card wind up with one for about 100 really.

Black Friday though... I haven't been out to anything since like 2002, regardless of deals I think I'll just keep it that way.

While, Batman, Forza, and Gears 3 at 28 a piece is tempting, its not worth standing out in the cold and then going to war over.

Pretty much this. Not that it matters anyway, online deals have been matching or beating 99% of brick and mortar deals for years now.

This is going to be an ugly display of humanity I'm sure. No discount would make me go anywhere near that place then.

Ughhh how I want that PS3. There is a chance Amazon will match it right? I really hope so :/

They won't have to, as it seems it's a Sony bundle:

160GB Playstation 3
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Edition (includes $35 bonus content)
30 day Playstation Plus trial membership
Spec sheet indicates that this will be a Black Friday special.

$600 3D TV? Holy shitcrap.
Looks like a BF exclusive, too. Amazon has the "lesser" version for $629. (240hz vs 120hz, 4 glasses vs 2 glasses). Not sure how the refresh rate differences would be, but hopeful that Best Buy will have a better deal. Don't want to deal with waiting at Walmart for a TV.

Well, shit. November has already been a drain on my wallet. Arkham City and Infamous 2 are tempting. Epic Mickey and Yakuza 4 to a lesser extent. What to do, what to do...

Good PS3 and Wii deals for anyone on the fence too.

great deals, but like others have said, I'm too young to die and I don't want to get shot/stabbed

you don't need to worry about the stabbing, it's the trampling that will get ya

Would it be possible to hold out on picking up my SS bundle preorder from Gamestop, or would I have to pick it up ASAP? Because I'd love to have it this way if at all possible. Also, are these Black Friday things B&M only, or online as well?

Dance Central 2 will be mine if Amazon matches it. I don't go out shopping on Black Friday...I value my life

Depends on where you live. I don't feel the same way about Santa Monica, but I would definitely prefer just clicking for things and waiting for them to show up at my door.

you will only get trampled if you are some old dude slowing everybody else down. Most retailers now do a line where they let people in one by one. The Wal-Mart here had their line inside since they are open 24/7

Its much more organized now then it was a couple of years ago, you now just have to miss your Thanksgiving dinner and wait in line.

I work near the Walmart with the infamous trampling incident. I entered the Walmart when I first moved here a few months ago and it's INSANE. No doubt BF will cause chaos.

I was going to buy a PS3 tomorrow since my fat one died. Glad I saw this thread. So I assume I can just order that PS3 bundle through Amazon and not have to get out in that zoo?

How does the video game section look during black friday? Do they still lock everything up and get each game manually?
I believe they don't. I went late last year, but I found the glass door open and some games on the floor.

I swear, Black Friday is such a disgusting holiday when you think about it (consumerism blah blah), but those prices.

they throw the games into a pool filled with sharks.

Pretty good deals this year. And wow at Dance Central 2 being 15 bucks. Bomba confirmed.

Surprised at no 3DS advertisement.

The cases are usually open for you to grab what you want, in my experience. And for the lowest priced titles, there's a big bin filled with shit for every system and 30 people crowded around it digging through.

It seriously might as well be.

My friend wanted a digital camera but this team of old ladies had started a supply line from the cameras out of the aisle where their cart was so he had no chance of getting one. Fortunately for him they were tossing the cameras down the line. The guy gets a running start, timing it perfectly to intercept a camera, gets his shirt ripped and nearly gets clotheslined by his own collar because one of them got a hand on him. Anyway, he sprints to the check out lanes in the front knowing the old ladies couldn't give chase without abandoning their other cameras.

It turns people into animals, but at least the day after we get some pretty entertaining stories out of it. There were a bunch of good ones on CAG in last years thread.

I would get both Batman and BF3 but I don't live near a Walmart so hopefully Amazon price matches. Even if it were at $30. $35 would be good too.

I see people keep saying this but does Amazon really price match this shit?

What about not the games, but all those great hardware/TV/etc deals too? Does Amazon match those?

Seems too good to be true.

I haven't really paid attention to their sales outside of games but they matched everything I wanted from other retailers last year.

They usually pricematch in a lightning deal, so not really a true pricematch in the sense that you have to be on the ball for the 2 or 3 hours the deal is available.

I wish Sam's Club would match some of Wal-Mart's pricing. They are sister companies, after all. I'd like to get Epic Mickey for $15, and practically no one shows up for Sam's Club's Black Friday.

I wish I was in the USA for this,

although I think next year or the year after I may make the short drive just to see the chaos.

Does anyone know what model that Playstation 3 is? Like I know it has the 160 HDD, but is it the updated slim model? I think the newer slim used 200Watts vs 230Watts on the older model as well as the new model being quieter. I dunno, I kinda want LBP2, but would it just be almost better to spend an extra $100 to get Uncharted 3 (a game I actually really want), an HDD double the size and then a newer model system?

P.S. I already have a 60GB playstation 3, except it is dead, so this is the replacement.

I'm hoping to get a console this holiday, haven't had one in a year and a half now and I've missed out on a ton of great stuff.

I'm pretty much ambivalent between 360 and PS3, there's so much stuff I haven't played that I'm going to have a ton of choices either way.

I'm not really interested in either of the games the PS3 games with but that's a pretty awesome price. I can't remember where I saw it, but isn't there another holiday bundle for PS3? I want to say it comes with Resistance and Killzone 3. I'd be more excited for that or the Uncharted bundle at $200 or even $250.

I'm hoping to get a decent ~23" monitor too, disappointed to see there's nothing in that size range on sale.
