Always the tag bridesmaid, never the tag bride.
Well, it looks like The Spectacular Spiderman is officially cancelled. Disney's acquisition of Marvel seems to have screwed around with the production on the third season, and I guess the ratings weren't good enough. Let the tears flow.

While both Yost and Rollman will currently politely duck out regarding their company’s recent acquisition by Disney (the deal hasn’t been approved yet), admit that “Spectacular Spider-Man” is done and over and not comment on the status of BET’s “Black Panther” series, they still see their future as incredibly rosy. As Rollman points out, the time is just perfect for superhero entertainment.

Now that is truly a shame. Spectacular Spider-Man was an awesome show, totally shat upon the 90's Spider-Man cartoon from great heights.

Sad, this show was great. Any news on what's going to happen to Wolverine and the X men season 2? Its decent, but no where near as good as Spectacular Spiderman

Ah, well, at least they didn't get the chance to run in into the ground and release ridiculously low-budget episodes, so it's not that terrible. But another one/two seasons would have been great :(

*Robotic Voice* Spiiiiderman! Spiiiiiiiiderman! *Robotic Voice*

Haven't seen this show, but 90's Spider Man cartoon was a big part of my childhood and should not be shat upon.

Nostalgia glasses aside, The Spectacular Spiderman shits all over the 90's Spiderman show, which I grew up watching. It's that good.

Why is the world so unfair? This show deserved another season so much. :'(

Gonna do a rewatch of the whole series now.

Don't do it, it'll only make the pain worse.

That blows. Spectacular Spider-Man was surprisingly good (despite the constant use of the word "bro"). The action was pretty amazing at times.

uggghhhhh...best damn animated version of spider-man ever. His quips were so fucking spot on funny as hell during battles and they captured that Peter is always getting the crap end of the stick feel.

I blame whoever was in charge of the programming though. That show was mishandled horribly and the fact that the second season was up for downloading everywhere in its entirety months before it aired in the U.S. played a huge hand in its rating. Plus time slot. I could say the exact same for Wolverine and the X-men too but for some strange reason that is being picked up. Not complaining about that though, I love that show, just strange. Especially since I watched all of those from Canada like a year ago but they still haven't finished the US run yet for some warped reason.

It doesn't help that it switched from CW to Disney XD during the start of Season 2. It was handled horribly.
