Good books. The riftwar saga and the serpentwar saga are great, the rest are meh imo.pgtl_10 said:I'm going to begin reading the next book in the Raymond E. Feist's Midkemia series. I believe it is the first book in the Demonwar arc.
Anybody reads his books?

I only read it for the "let's see how much I've read this year" statistics.LocoMrPollock said:I think a lot of people use Goodreads.com - I don't really like it too much, though.

TBH for fantasy stuff I just hit up the asoiaf literature forums. For everything else it's just pure word of mouth from peeps I know.eznark said:Where do you guys go for book reviews, latest release lists, etc.?

As elrechazao said: The Riftwar Saga and Serpentwar Books are nice reads; Krondors sons and Faerytale is good too, but try to stay away from The Riftwar Legacy (Krondor: books). The Enpire Saga is rather average and boring. Can't comment on the newer stuff since the Krondor: books scared me away.pgtl_10 said:I'm going to begin reading the next book in the Raymond E. Be prepared for striking tone and plot changes throughout the series. It's initially offputting for some, I find it fucking brilliant. I love that its only the first book that is basically sci-fi Canterbury Tales.Donos said:GAF recommended me the Dan Simmons Hyperion Trilogy so i started Book 1 (in german). I'm half through (at the end of the Sol Weintraub arc) and it's really good so far . Thumbs up GAF.

Wow..I've read it in one sitting. Once I've started I just couldn't put it down. It has some pretty obvious Dexter vibes (the main hero is a sociopath), but the addition of supernatural element as well as the fact that hero is just a teenager has kept it different enough. Plus it was so much better than any Dexter book I've read. I can't believe this was a debout novel. Hats off.
Yeah, about that.... I just readLocoMrPollock said:Check out the sequels, they're just as good.
