It depends.

As many other gleefully point out, pronouns didn't ruin BG3, its the best RPG in existence.

However then you look at Dragon Age Vielguard or Concord and you realise the games are just not aimed at you, and that's fine.

Just don't expect me not to look into your game and make a decision on not buying it because theres plenty of games that are directly targeting me for attention.

Or il just replay Mass Effect again (I am)

Long thread, the initial gist of it is someone leaked a screenshot from Avowed's character creator showing the inclusion of pronouns. Elon Musk and others called this out as unacceptable, being that the game takes place in a medieval fantasy setting, and the game's art director decided to double down.

Things got really interesting when it was noted that said art director had posted the below

If the game is good I'll play it regardless. If "the narrative" is too extreme, then maybe the game will have to be of higher quality because there's always something else to play.

Same thing with divergence between good and bad reviews. Act as a flag to be carefull and do more research about whats going on.
Usually DEI and woke means easy pass, as I would rather not have anything to do with those people.
