When will Reddit stop being a Snowflake Central?

Reddit's administrators cultivate this nonsense. That's why it has become a haven for mentally ill teens as they mature into mentally ill adults. Just delete your account and don't go back.

First of all, why would you be on reddit?

Second of all, AI need to be stopped being trained on it like right now. Secret service are starting to visit them, burn it to the ground, all of it

If/when reddit collapses will be much harder to make a simple search with any engine that won't be filled with a hundred of "Top XX of this/that for 2025"

Reddit is only really good for finding problems and solutions to those problems; so basically for very specific questions where people are inclined to be helpful.
Otherwise it's a complete dumpster fire where it's impossible to have any real kind of discussions because comments/threads get buried by their awful voting system.

Reddit is very mixed in my experience. Yes, there are definitely "snowflake" subs, but there are also the opposite.

That site is really going off the deep end.

I've seen one similar about Trump, but it seems like it was removed from the subreddit and the account has also been suspended. I feel like Reddit is going to become a breeding ground for extremism in the coming years if the owners and admins don't moderate properly.

You can find VERY specific things there and there only in terms of quantity and quality. Mods are the biggest problem and of course it's the biggest echo chamber out there.
Tv shows subs are great, cars, one piece, and watches too (just to name a few), I mean, it just has a lot of good content.

Reddit is designed to enforce a top down social consensus. I am not saying it is fed or glows in the dark or whatever, but I will say that if the CIA wanted to design an online forum that it can manipulate to enforce a social consensus, it would design it exactly the way that Reddit is designed.

Reddit serves exactly one purpose for me and always has. I'll google some sort of technology issue I'm facing and I'll find a post from seven years ago where someone else experienced the same and has a solution. Then I give them a years late up vote and go on about my day.

I can't imagine engaging with reddit in any real way.

Some of you might know there are some subreddits that will automatically ban you should you be a member of other subreddit (it doesn't matter if you post there or what you post, the bot will detect it and ban you).

Today I have been lurking and noticed a thread where one user praises men's attitude of "we will figure it out", namely staying positive in the face of adversity and believing things will work out. The thread was locked and the mod decided to go off the deep end:

How pathetic human being you have to be if that's your fucking take? How come in the age of Facebook taking the massive L this forum still operates in this manner?

That X account does an excellent job showing the absolute insanity that is allowed to run rampant on Reddit.

Literal calls for violence, assassination, murder of political figures or other people the hivemind doesn't like.
Bizarre takes about justification and glorification of rape and other sexual crimes.
People reenforcing their warped views and beliefs on family and social situations.
Gaslighting, peer pressure, manipulation.

Can you imagine condoning all of that?

The amount of people with a mental illness on that site is alarming. Which is also the reason Reddit doesn't take action, of course.

Oh no, not gaslighting!

It's incredibly helpful when I'm troubleshooting stuff or have questions regarding some obscure game. Most likely someone else asked the same question and I just look at their answers.
It's the only place where you can still find that kind of helpful info from an actual human and not have to wade through rivers of AI slop.

I fail to see how Reddit is worse than X? Elon's just as big of a cunt as the far left.

Also, just go to subreddits that concern your hobbies.

I try not to lurk reddit if I can help it. Sometimes I'm just looking for answers and ill get linked to a reddit post and its as if they all share the same brain down in the comments. You'll have a main post of someone asking a question and it'll have 1000 comments and the most upvooted comment will be some joke and you'll have pages of replies to it, and then maybe you'll find a reply to what the guy was actually asking about.

The reason why Reddit hasn't imploded is because you can avoid the shit subreddits and focus on the useful ones for information and resources, avoid the ones who can easily cross into politcs.

Now Bluesky? It's a left wing version of Truth Social, absolutely nothing good there except for some artists who only use (or used) to post there to avoid X AI collection, but I think most returned because they realized Bluesky also easily lets third parties do that too + the toxic userbase.

It's gotten more unhinged in all facets lately. I logged on a few weeks ago to an overflowing inbox. Turns out someone screenshotted a (what I thought was) obviously sarcastic post I made 2.5 years ago and posted it to a different sub. They didn't censor my username, which led to multiple people tagging me, DMing me, chat requesting me, and in some cases commenting on posts I made in OTHER subs to reference it. I just ignored all of it and I guess everyone forgot and moved on within a day, but still, an incredibly bizarre experience. I've been on reddit for over a decade and never had anything like that happen, but I see it happen in plenty of other subs, too. People go on random witch hunts and harassment campaigns and the mods/admins do nothing.

It's all to whoever is adminning a given sub and people who basically do unpaid jobs like that are generally power hungry cunts.

Let's take a step back and recognize that the decline in the quality of posts on social platforms is merely a symptom of a larger societal decline, particularly in the United States. The U.S. has been on a downward trajectory since the 1970s, as wages have failed to keep pace with the rising cost of living. As a result, most citizens are too preoccupied with working just to survive, leaving little time or energy to educate themselves and develop the critical thinking skills necessary to engage meaningfully.

This is the root cause of why many people fall for narratives that dictate what they should be upset about and why. Most people avoid confronting what truly bothers them, so they project undue importance onto superficial issues, believing that winning in those areas somehow translates into an improvement in their living standards.

And it doesn't.

You're asking if theres a possibility that at some stage the lunatic asylum won't have lunatics in it.

Reddit is and always has been a hive of scum and villainy. If it isn't reddit those nutcases would just congregate somewhere else. I hope it never changes, at least this way they're effectively quarantining themselves to one place.

About that:

Interesting even if you don't like roaches.
