Getting fat in Metal Slug is good. Your firepower gets a huge boost. You will loose some air mobility though.

You get fat when you eat several food items in a row, sometimes as few as three. There is a "diet" pickup that reverts you back to normal.

Food is good and bad. It powers up your shots (sometimes ridiculously so-hello shotgun) but cuts your walking speed and you can't jump very well. Basically a bigger, firing version of a zombie
