With the unleashed recomp opening the 360 floodgates, what Xbox 360 games would you like to see on PC?

The devs not only decompiled Sonic Unleashed but released the tools they used to do so. The floodgates are open.

For me, I'd love for Forza Motorsport 4 to get a proper port. It's the best Forza game period and Xenia emulation for it is too tinkery. Same for Forza Horizon and Project Gotham Racing 4.

Fancy Pants Adventures is also an XBLA classic that should get ported. It's based off 3 classic Flash games on browser, but the console version gave it a big update, added co op, new stages, challenge modes, etc. You can emulate the PS3 version sure but i'd like 120fps and better online support.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Lots of great* JRPGs are stuck on the 360: Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, MagnaCarta 2, Culdcept Saga, and Enchanted Arms. Even Microsoft's own stuff from that era hasn't been ported to PC yet - so stuff like Kameo, Fable II, Perfect Dark Zero, Gears of War 2/3, Forza, and Project Gotham Racing could benefit here. Even stuff like Nintey Nine Nights and Too Human would be fun to see running at full speed on a modern PC.

* = not actually great, but at least interesting

Personally, I think the games that didn't receive PC ports should make their way to the top of the list. One of my faves was Magna Carta 2 on the 360.

Gears Of War 2/3/Judgement, those lack PC ports.
Ridge Racer 6 & the PGR series
Fuse (No PC Port)
Dead To Rights Retribution (No PC Port)
Tekken 6 (No PC Port)
Call of Duty 3 (one of the few in the series not to have a PC port)
Saints Row 2 (Original PC port was horrible)

Also, could this be used to port the 360's OG Xbox emulator to the PC?

Eternal Sonata
Chromehounds
Anarchy Reigns
Armored Core 4, For Answer, V, Verdict Day

Basically all the best games that never got BC.

I don’t want specific games, I want an official 360 and XB1 and Original Xbox emulator on the Xbox app and a way to transfer my old discs into digital copies.
They had the ”This is an Xbox” ad. Time to show that they’re serious about it.

MS isnt involved with this. Its a recomp project made by Sonic fans to get Xbox games working on PC
Microsoft isnt doing shit. They ended their BC program in 2021 because they're fucking lame.

I know but since then they aired that ”This is an Xbox” ad and showed a PC, and I still have hundreds of Xbox games not accessed on my ”This is an Xbox” PC but accessed on my Series X.
So they simply need to do something about that because as it is that ad was a lie.

Condemned Criminal Origins 2
Rainbow 6 Vegas (better ports)
GRAW (better ports)
Gears 2 - 3
The Darkness
Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay

I'm sure I'll think of more. There are plenty though.
Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay is already fully ported to PC though, was the Xbox port better somehow? Totally agree on The Darkness, what an incredible game that the sequel just didn't quite approach in terms of quality. The first one is a very strategic shooter with great focus on stealth as well, which the second is just a straight up action game. Second is a fine game, but The Darkness 1 is the spiritual sequel to Riddick in my mind, and it's criminal that it's not ported to PC yet. Totally agree on Condemned as well, you've got the best list in this thread.

Is the 360 version of the Darkness different than the ps3's?Because I can't remember if I played it with rpcs3 or psnow but it was a fine version.

I know we just got the remake, but a native PC port of OG Ninja Gaiden 2 would be nice.
Also Gears 2-3 if MS never actually plans to bring them over to PC
Some of the Armored Core games would nice too since those are trapped on 360/Ps3
Ace Combat 6 would be nice too

Is Butcher Bay widely available on PC? I thought it was a Direct2Drive exclusive and is basically abandon-ware now. I'd just like a Steam version any QoL issues taken care of like widescreen, unlocked frame rate, FOV, HUD scaling etc. I don't need them to update assets or anything.

Eternal Sonata was ported to PS3 not that it helps much. Same with Enchanted Arms though it is backward compatible (delisted from the storefront). Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are also BC so not exactly stuck either.

Forza game are almost perfect on Xenya.
Almost any game I will ask here (besides gears) is on that level on Xenya or RcPs3

The prime candidates would be:
-Forza/Horizon/PGR
-The entire Gears Franchise
-UFC Undisputed 3 / Fight night Champions (PC does not have one single UFC game)
-Ace Combat 6
-An arcade perfect port of Daytona (the RcPs3 version runs flawlessly, but the real deal would be better)

I'm guessing the 'forward compatibility' team being head up by Sarah Bond will tackle this. Since they're pivoting to 'everything is an XBox', they're going to have to find a way for peoples libraries to exist beyond the console ecosystem.

ah, that's the sequel/fourth installment.

There is a collection of all 3 of the original Flash games on Steam, but the XBLA version has more content

If Brad Borne managed to strike a deal with EA to get the rights to that Xbox version, It'd be pretty swell, but until then we have to rely on emulation or hope for a recomp

Yeah it’s crucial. Official emulators for all their past and current and upcoming consoles needs to be in the app. But there is nothing. So from my perspective they’ve failed with that ”This is an Xbox”strategy. I have a living room PC. I should be able to sell my console. But I can’t. There are still hundreds of games stuck on the Xbox consoles.

Outrun 2 was on OG Xbox, are you talking about outrun 2006? (which already has a good PC port)

360 had outrun online arcade

My Top 3
1. Geometry Wars 2. It's the best in the series. Emulates quite well in Xenia-Canary, but native would be amazing.

2. Ridge Racer 6. The only mainline RR I haven't played much of. Would be the first time we get a mainline RR running natively on PC. (Unbounded doesn't count). if it has High refresh and ultrawide like all 3D de/recomps... wowwww!

3. Table Tennis. Best TT game ever by Rockstar. so weird it was exclusive to the 360.

This game is included in Dark Athena, at least a better version of it.

The Ps3 version of Eternal Sonata has more content, so I would recommend you to not even bother with the 360 version.

I just want on PC with good performance at 4k:
  1. Fable 2
  2. Chromehounds (if they can get the multiplayer working)
  3. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
  4. Gears 3 (probably going to get remastered though)
  5. Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise
  6. Project Gotham Racing 4
  7. Kameo: Elements of Power

Only one that comes to mind is Call of Duty 3. Still some of the best multiplayer in the entire series, the campaign had some decent moments as well.

Recompiling is a massive undertaking (and even that is an understatement), so I couldn’t really see much else coming soon on the 360 side. There’s a reason why we typically only see N64 games get this treatment.

Sonic Unleashed is the golden exception simply due to how passionate and devoted the Sonic community is, and the team behind it are amazingly talented/experienced with this stuff, and yet it still took them 6 months to pull this off!
