Dude wrote the screenplay for this alone.

Jurassic World was pretty damn bad so it's not much of a shock tbh. Also we don't know if monster trucks is bad or not...don't hold your breath on that tho haha

I see it now. The other three are only credited with "Story."

There are plenty of Monster Trucks reviews out there already. The film came out a couple weeks ago in some territories.

My friend saw a screening of it early last year and said it was terrible. Doesn't sound like the delays fixed anything lol

I know, I'm just messing around. The theater I work at got a standee of Monster Trucks and all the kids who saw it said it looks bad and that they don't want to see it when they were asked by their parents.

Was this Underworld movie something they've done years ago and found it in a drawer somewhere? I mean it explains the January release.

Kate is better than this shit. I hope she gets to make more great movies like Love & Friendship.

This is how she gets those financed.

Ya it's like when Ethan Hawke does stupid car movies with Selena Gomez or that first Purge film to get cash for the next Before movie

Got to see "Hidden Figures" for free. The real-life women were apart of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and they're celebrating their 100th anniversary this year and having a bunch of events this year, which included passes to a screening of "Hidden Figures." My aunt is an AKA and was gonna take my mom as her guest, but couldn't attend so she let me have her ticket.

The movie was simply amazing. Everyone gave stellar performances and the movie itself had you hooked from begining to end. Made you laugh, cry, and cheer. I loved it.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.... AKA's...

The conceited, bougie black women sorority sistas. LOL

I used to love them in college.

I like how Till went from playing a late 30s/early 40s Vietnam vet in X-Men Apocalypse to a high school senior in this. Such range!
Wasn't Monster Trucks filmed over 3 years ago? I believe it was supposed to come out in 2014-2015 but got stuck in release date scheduling hell.

They wrapped filming in December 2015. The release was scheduled for October, but was delayed.

Damn, star wars had a 200 million budget?
Edwards noted the original script would require 600 effects shots but Disney, when seeing how it was progressing, bumped it to a budget for 1,700 effect shots which I presume involved a heft bump to the budget. Re-shots probably added a bit too.

For a film likely to close north of $1 billion that's not out of line with other big effects films.

That said you have to wonder if it would have delivered same numbers with lower budget? We'll never know now of course.

Still the performance shows solid stand alone films have potential to deliver big numbers (although to be fair Rogue One was advertised as being very heavily linked to A New Hope so it's arguably less standalone than other planned offshots - the plot allowed a fair amount of nostalgia and linking to A New Hope).

Contributed to hidden figures. First non kids movie I've seen at the theater since X-Men apocalypse. Lucky for me this time it was worth it. Amazing movie. Almost cried.

Underworld doesn't seem like it's bombing that badly with only a $35 million budget.

I expect RE to get similar if not slightly better numbers.

I actually really liked Underworld. Went in expecting garbage like Rise of the Lycans and got a good "fast food" action movie with vampires and shit. Kinda hoping they can do another one since it ended with a cliffhanger kinda.

It was filmed in spring 2014, and originally scheduled for release in May 2015; it was delayed to Christmas 2015 and then March 2016 before its current release date.

4 out of the top 5 are fresh rated films in January? Yes! Thank you. Really glad to see Rogue One, La La Land, and Hidden Figures doing so well.

I doubt they'll ever let Underworld die. In panic mode they'll make another straight to video release without Beckinsale and then try again. What I'm wondering is how this bodes for xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Resident Evil. Maybe January isn't a viable month for shitty action films anymore. I also think this is the first time Resident Evil has released in Winter instead of Fall.

Nice to see Hidden Figures doing so well.

Underworld was not good by any stretch of the imagination. Pure schlock. But entertaining schlock if you like the aesthetic and actors, and you don't mind totally perfunctory dramatic beats that are kind of just there to fill space between action scenes.

I must say, I loved how Selene
got frosted tips when she leveled up
. Soooooo good.

Writer of Episode IX folks.
I'm expecting the new trilogy to echo the first.

First one: All around solid and enjoyable

Second one: Everybody's favorite.

Third one: Some good scenes and pay offs but will probably be remembered as the one with the dumbest moments.

I think A New Hope is going to be remembered as much more solid than TFA, but otherwise, yeah this is what I'm guessing too.
