I don't think it seemed darker than 3, unless you mean in terms of the ambient lighting? It could just be the impact of less Hennig, more Straley.instead it was making uncharted darker and more seriouser

Boyes and House should lead every Sony presser. Shu can announce megatons.
At least Nintendo has always been about the games, and their games have always been actual games (not movies masquerading as games.)
I'm so close to buy a WiiU instead of PS4 this fall.
They announced it. Pro column. What did you expect? 30 mins gameplay?
maybe not darker but at least far more depressing. the way they talk about one more score sounded like it they were agreeing to a suicide pact rather than looking forward to their final and greatest adventure. was more of a whimper when it should have been a bang.I don't think it seemed darker than 3, unless you mean in terms of the ambient lighting? They announced it last year at the PS4 launch event on Spike. 7 months on and they still have nothing to show for it than what may or may not be a target render using ingame engine.
Just would have been nice without the TV stuff wasting 10 minutes.![]()
What?
Cons:
- Playstation TV, you would think a company would have learned after the bore fest of microsoft's 2013 conference.

Thing is he had retired after 3 and did not want to get back in for Elena's sake.maybe not darker but at least far more depressing. the way they talk about one more score sounded like it they were agreeing to a suicide pact rather than looking forward to their final and greatest adventure. was more of a whimper when it should have been a bang.
I was expecting gameplay trailers for Last Guardian and Rime. All I got was CG trailers, generic shooters, zombie stuff. Things that I really dislike, presented between boring talking. I was only interested in No Man's Sky and LBP3. As a presentation, it was very boring imo.
i didnt have much interest in watching the xbox presentation past the call of duty trailer, which is sort of dumbfounding to me.
anyway, sat through the whole Sony video, it wasn't nearly as terrible as people were saying, but i can see the low points of it.
i thought overall it was fine, it wasn't really ridiculously entertaining, but they had a good game offering and i like what i saw. i'll probably get a PS4 when Metal Gear Solid comes to pass, and i'll get ground zeroes. No Man's Sky seems alright, though i might just get that on PC instead.
ALOT is missing. Like Uncharted,Crackdown 3, Inside and other stuff that has been mentioned.
Well damn it's going to be a glorious 2015, huh?
Cannot wait for MGS, Batman, Bloodborne, Kingdom Hearts, Uncharted 4, Witcher 3 but fuck me it's going to be one hell of a long wait.
Screw the early adopters I guess right...
Hey we always have indies right guys? :/
Last of Us and GTA V and Destiny will help fill the rest of the year I guess but damn am I disappointed that we don't have another AAA title to play this year. Dragon Age, AC, and Far Cry will also help don't get me wrong. And No Mans Sky does looks cool as an indie game, I will give it that.
That being said compared to MS, Sony blew the competition out of the water for my interests. Only exclusive I have any interest in is the Halo Collection and even that pales to the epic list of PS4 games above. Any multiplatform console game will be better on PS4 so that's really irrelevant for generating interest in the XB1. PS4 should be the dominating platform by a wide margin come the end of 2015.
Still sucks that the PS4 won't be a must have device until 2015 and that the transition from a mediocre/average library to a superb library isn't more gradual.
Thing is he had retired after 3 and did not want to get back in for Elena's sake.
The tone just lets you in that something bad has happened for him to take that last hunt.
No they announced AN Uncharted game last year. Not Uncharted 4. This was the first time WD actually got a confrimation.
7 months.. Do you know what most developers have in 7 months? You're acting like its a year and a half.
Well, I guess if you'll only play Nintendo games every once in awhile that's probably the best for you.
If you want any semblance of third party support, then I guess you'll be missing out. It's not like you'll see Destiny, Battlefield, AC, CoD, Far Cry, Dragon Age, Evolve, and Mortal Kombat, just to name a few you'll miss out in 2014.
I lost respect for Adam because of that stunt.
He knew full well no one was clamoring for a fucking zombie game (Dead Island 2!?)
to the extent that folks have been asking about Shenmue, FFVII Remake, Crash,
Yakuza and a numerous Vita titles.
The think we're imbeciles.
I think everyone on this forum will be happy only when the conference is just a stack of one trailer after another.. Seems like people finds other people talking boring..
The average gamer doesn't know what Shenmue or Yakuza are..were not alive when FFVII or Crash were made..and doesn't give a shit about the Vita....
Yet they somehow know about Grim Fandango?
Nope...and it will sell accordinglyYet they somehow know about Grim Fandango?
Show me a JRPG and I will show you my interest.
I may be remembering wrong but most of what I saw either had some form of gameplay demonstration, or the trailers themselves featured gameplay. I think too many of Sony's trailers were CGI which excites nobody as it means nothing. You might as well post concept art on a website, it looks really cool but the final game is usually nothing like it. I get that companies do that to build hype and show off what kind of vibe/tone they're going for, but it's not interesting to me personally.
and probably Let It Die
You're also assuming lolUnfortunately you do come across as an imbecile by assuming that because YOU or some people here on GAF want something, that automatically means that the majority of people want the same thing...

Adam was speaking to the average gamer...

Trailers for obscure games with cult followings that people assume anyone outside of 1% of gamers will actually like..
I hated the pace of Sony's conference, and I think Little Big Planet didn't warrant more than 5 minutes of coverage to announce additional characters. Live gameplay was a stupid waste of time on LBP considering how little they showed of Destiny actual gameplay.
The letters section was also poorly done.
I give Sony an A- for content.
I give them a D- for structure and pace.
Fricken can't believe they had such good content yet still came in behind Microsoft.
Who designs these shows for them?
I don't know, it seems like a natural progression.maybe not darker but at least far more depressing. the way they talk about one more score sounded like it they were agreeing to a suicide pact rather than looking forward to their final and greatest adventure. was more of a whimper when it should have been a bang.
Bloodborne, and probably Let It Die
Quick question, if I buy a playstation TV do I need PS+ to play the PS3 games?
