Tomb Raider timed exclusive on Xbox was just an idiotic decision.
You don't turn your back on your fanbase on PC and Playstation that has followed you since 1996 just because some execs at CD have a better relationship with Microsoft.

It's at times like these that I miss the old days of open discussion here on GAF. :)

Rolling in NPD numbers is such fun.

OMG, a blast from the past!!
How are things going? I hope well.

Btw happy birthday to Ryng Tolu.

This post isn't by me, it's by a guy with the same username as me.
We are also pleased to announce November was the biggest month ever for PlayStation Store indicating a strong digital marketplace complementing healthy retail sales.

Man, Sony will make so much money this holiday season

Congrats PS4! I bouth the darth vader one and then returned it in December to help out the numbers. LOL! I already own one so don't really need it.

Honestly, I feel like TR bombing had less to due with exclusivity (though that was obviously a lot of it) and more to do with when it launched. A game like that isn't going to do well competing against Fallout, CoD, AC, Halo, etc. They should have delayed it to Spring and have it continue to serve its original purpose as the counter to UC4.

Feel that linr on digital is suggesting a decent drop in software sales. Lack of comment on the overall picture outside hardware suggests maybe not a blcokbuster month.

Will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Why? I've already said that this month has been very good for the industry (much better than what I was expecting for PS4 and One, no doubt). I just think that having such a huge amount of sales concentrated in the Holidays is not a healthy trend in the long run. Or better: its extremisation, the one it's happening in this generation.

But I guess it's a consequence of releasing so much major stuff, well, all around this period, especially if there are no long-sellers like Wii and DS had, titles that sell well and drive hardware adoption at costant mid-to-high levels through the entire year, not just Holidays. And this concentration is something I don't consider healthy either, honestly, but it's for another day I guess.

Whoever wins November almost always wins December.

Xbox One being $299 for 3 weeks might change that, but that depends on how big the gap is this month.

Sorry for asking, but can someone explain the whole 'digital sales' reference?

I have been seeing it pop up often enough that it must be referring to something specific.
