My grandmother would love these.

Bruh, I can't believe this is an actual thing. This feels like something from a parody or cartoon. "Big Baller Brand" 😂😂😂

If you're gonna sell a sneaker at 500 you either need amazing design or tons of hype. This doesn't have either. It looks like a knockoff of a sneaker that Nike would sell at around 200 and they're trying to sell it at a sold out sneaker resale price. Not gonna happen. I don't see any crowd going for it, certainly not the people who will wait in line for a pair of Jordans (or buy them on eBay for way more later) or the crowd who will pay 600 dollars for an Adidas shoe by a high end designer.

The thing is the shoes are nice, but why is he ruining his kid by over pricing like that, that makes no since, Lavar is gonna cost his son millions in marketing dollars

Smart move. Control your own brand.

I hate this comment by people who have no clue. His father turned down guaranteed millions for a shoe no one is buying. All that control your own brand shit. Michael Jordan owns his own basketball team and is a billionaire and one of the most powerful men in sports now. No one cares if Nike owns his likeness or brand now.

Social media comments rarely turn to sales. Especially for a shoe at $200-$500. Lonzo could be the next Curry and even then people won't cop these until they're $100 or less and even then the margins, development they cannot compete with Nike. He needs to let his dad stop getting in his head. Props to raisig decent sons and getting them in college and the NBA. Let them control their own destiny now. Lonzo Ball 1's with Nike would have made him millions. Now he can hawk this stuff that will probably be given away at some point. But hey, he controls his own brand right.

And that assumes that they are competently made and won't get him injured. How hilarious would it be if his eventual team doesn't let him wear them?

The price is a publicity stunt, just like everything this clown does. The problem is, real money is off the table because of his antics. Now is the time to step up and take this shit serious, not peddle some fugazi shoe at a ridiculous price that you've suddenly been designing for decades to look exactly like recently popular shoes.

I can't help but be curious as to their actual quality. I want to see a review of their ergonomics, comfort, etc. Guarantee they are cheap garbage lol

I'm going to feel bad for Lonzo when he realizes his dad cost him millions of dollars. I mean at some point when this shit fails, he will have to go back to the big shoe companies.

I'm not against challenging the shoe companies because lord knows they can be predatory, but they went about this horribly.

I have to imagine they are so expensive because they don't have any kind of manufacturing capacity to actually make shoes. If these shows are actually Wal-Mart level quality, I don't think this "brand" could come back

But if it had a Nike logo you'd think it was a work of art

He said nothing about the looks. Company like Nike will invest tens of thousands of dollars designing a shoe to maximize performance and comfort for a player. And in doing so they get their brand on the feet of athletes in the court, which is the advertising and endorsing they need to create a demand for their shoes. Unless 'Big Baller Brand' can offer a similar product to players there is not going to be near the demand to warrant a $500 price tag.

Big Bankrupt Brand.

Srsly tho, Kristine Leahy from the The Herd made a good point the other day. One way Nike and UA and other big names made such a big brand was because they could easily market it to both men and women. She says, and I think she's right, that few women are gonna want to wear something that says Big Baller Brand on the front. More on point, do they (BBB) even offer women's clothing/shoes?

It's one to go against big name brands. But it's another thing to charge more than twice the amount over the most popular sneaker brands. All the while the son is unproven. I feel sorry for kids with parents like this. I understand supporting your kids but there is a line to be drawn. Especially with making comments like your kids are worth more than any players in history bar the two who are all time greats deserving of.

They're not making much profit on these I figure since they probably don't have connections or a deal with the manufacturing agencies. The shoes are fire and as a lover of unique marketing I support the ball family. LaVar is a hell of a promoter. If I had IDGAF type money, I would pick these up.

Not surprised by the price, since their baller brand clothing has been priced higher than the competition. I was hoping they would go against the big shoe companies by going at a similar price strategy as Stephon Marbury did a couple years back with his own shoe line. I think they were priced at less than $50. That would of attracted the general public quickly into the baller brand. But it seems like they want to market their brand as a luxury brand with luxury prices.

people really want to see black owned businesses fail

They're just starting, it's going to be rough at first, but this piling on hive mentality is sad to see

This got nothing to do with being black owned. The shoes are trash, the price is blasphemous and LaVar is making his son lose millions.. for all we know he could be a bust and this could've been his big payday. Granted the kid can play but throwing race into this got nothing to do with it.. I mean who the fuck he think he is demanding 495 for some Payless sneakers.

NOPE. Dont agree at all. This moron just fucked over his son out of potentially millions of dollars (Assuming he isnt a bust).

This man who is clearly living his life vicariously through his children is going to lead them into financial ruin (exaggeration) over some garbage ass shoes.
