Tsushima's a very good, polished game, and Sucker Punch are ace devs, but it's story and characters didn't resonate with me the way TLOU's did. It's a perfectly solid open-world action game, but it's strange how it was pushed to GOTY status by 'gamers', and the positive review bombs right after TLOU2's release didn't exactly help the conversation.

I have yet to see a single, sane, well informed opinion as to what makes this game "terrible". Or the writing "bad". Not one.

I know, it's fucking three hours long, but this video does a pretty good job in explaining why are objectivity and reason to decide it's not good.
And it's not something over-analysed/nobody noticed, watching gamers playing pivotal moments shows how totally disconnected they were, no matter the "gender" nor "status", no one wanted to fucking fight Ellie as Abby in the theatre.. outside of mentally persons i guess.

Another example from my playthrough. I've been using Abby for who knows how long, i'm meeting with Manny again, he's in trouble because of a sniper (someone i'll have to fight, a sequence straight from the first one which is known for how fucking much players hated that sniper) but as long as he says "This sniper's a fucking pro" and i realize he's Tommy, i have the biggest, glorious sadist smile on my face.

The game isn't supposed to be happy. Its not simply a "revenge" story. Have you never watched a movie where the main character wanted revenge and DIDNT get it? This is not a new phenomenon.
People fucking die in The Last of Us. Joel died. He was not a good guy. He was not a hero. He deserved the golf stick to the dome. He died to give motivation for the 2 new characters. You are supposed to be pissed off. You are supposed to hate Abby at first. Thats the point. ANY form of art that can draw out such emotion in its viewer is undeniably a success. You were attached to a character because of his good writing. Nothing im saying right now is even up for debate.
If you cant sympathize with her POV then you are just heartless, overly soft and emotional and just ... slow. Because she had every fucking reason to want him killed brutally. The man killed her father and doomed the world to eternnal hell. What the hell is so hard to understand? Gotta agree with Bruce. Lou2 was all over the place and inconsistent with character logic, but a super well made game. I don’t think it’s attempts at realism or appeals to wokeness earn it anything special.
GoT was beautiful and thoughtful, had exceptional gameplay and uniqueness. Certainly deserving.

Not to derail, but I believe Neil Druckman's new position leaves the studio open for someone like Bruce to come back and take the reigns. Which it seems he's better at in making more heartfelt stories.

Because unlike Joel, who actually did what he did to save a little girl and his motivations were fucking brilliantly exposed and SHARED by the players through the entire first game, Abby by pursuing her revenge (which makes her wrong to begin with) by torturing and killing a man who just saved her life, was responsible for the death of all her friends. And she herself killed the rest of her friends to save.. a literal stranger.

2. It does seem like a butthurt move by Straley, what can you say? Maybe it's not but generally I think that is the social cue most people will take away from this, given the context of the tweet as well as the general situation.

The world is stunningly beautiful. The story is interesting and the performances are solid. It's standout game play element are the duels. It has a few neat open world activities in hot spring memories and haiku writing. Other than that, it feels like just about any other open world game in terms of combat (non-Duels), sense of exploration (poor), traversal, crafting and collectables.

Ghost Of Tsushima 2. If they added dogs that are actually able to SMELL YOU, AI that actually looks for you, have their heads move many directions looking for you like in The Last Of Us 2, actually vocally say the name of the person you just stealth killed looking for them as their ABSENCE CONFIRMS SOMETHING IS WRONG, someone telling me that being added in Ghost 2 is bad?
If you take those elements and add them to Ghost, you have a better game. Period. I like both games, but clearly 1 of theses games just has a deep level of quality that is very hard to top and elements that should be added in Ghost Of Tsushima 2 (or what ever they will call it) simply to make the world make more sense in terms of gameplay.

Druckmann said in an interview that they made an effort to make their female characters not attractive for straight males. So Dina became uglier and with smaller boobs than her actress, and same happened with Abby (her actress is pretty too) but for her even took a separate actress -with a more body building type body- for body motion capture.

I personally liked Ghost of Tsushima more than TLOU 2. With that being said neither is GoT or TLOU2 is my GOTY.
For me it was 13 Sentinels but these days GOTY is mostly about popularity contest and 13 Sentinels is not popular enough to win GOTY in VGA shows.

It’s better in every way except the narrative, which is still strong but not a completely tight picture/lightning in a bottle like the first game. Gameplay wise? Graphics wise? Performance? Literally anything else? It’s much better

Absolutely garbage tier opinion from what I can only assume to be coming from a teenage brain whose default mode is to turn off. It’s like the whole game flew by you, either that or you have zero knowledge about character development, personal arcs, catharsis or closure.
