I was well off with my 95 prediction. Still, most of my favourite games this gen have been sub 90 mc, so not something to be too bothered about.

$7.5 Billion well spend Microsoft
yup 7.5 billion

and they couldn't keep ori developers in house

that scored a solid 90+ for them

a short summary of how well Xbox game studios are being managed

I wouldn't be this much disappointed if this was a regular multiplat bethesda release like fallout 4 / eso / fallout 76.

but now? now it is a disappointment.

Eurogamer and Edge are gonna fuck this game in the ass, ESPECIALLY after the whole review code controversy
this shit is dropping to 85

This is an industry problem more than a MSFT problem. What "unique content" has any major publisher rolled out this gen?
No this is a MS problem and if you think it is you must be the reincarnation of Ray fuckn Charles because even making a studio from the ground up with a legacy IP and they cant even get that right and have to bring in Crystal Dynamics to clean up the mess, this is a MS problem through in and through-out

Ori is great but Ori doesn't do Bethesda games numbers, Ori doesn't move hardware and subs.

You sell more hardware and GP subs when you stick Skyrim, Fallout, Wolfenstein, Doom exclusivity to it than Ori.

How do the space pirate stuff and pillaging other ships go? I still remember it was made a point by the cheese lady in the presentation. Is it good?

Business wise it's certainly not looking good. If they really spent 400 million then no way MS will be happy with that at all. Big outlets not liking will dampen pre orders, there will certainly be big restructuring within the bethesda game studios. Many there will be fired and MS will be taking a much more hands on approach to all their acquired game studios.

Business wise it depends on how well it sells and how many GP subs and hardware units it moves regardless of scores.

Gives an idea of what space exploration is like. Much more limited than I thought…

This is horrible, and people were telling me the NMS comparison was offensive.....they actually did it better with a team of 9 - at least the aspect seamlessly flying, landing, and exploring an entire planet

I wonder where all the money went. I'm not seeing anything revolutionary about it. And it looks like some of the things it tries to do (like space travel) were already done better by NMS years ago.

You know these people are just trying to poke because they even hate its getting an 88 or so

Most were terrified it would be 95ish and in my world 88 is still a damn good game
Absolutely... the problem is the narrative MS & co was pushing: Starfield = the most important game for MS in a long long time. With that as a the base of the discussion the view on the game changes. FF XVI is a great game with a pretty good meta (87 like Starfield) but it wasn't caring a premis of that magnitude on his shoulders so the perception and the way one goes in the game is different.

I was on the fence about buying it on launch, but after watching Alanah Pearce's recent video, fucking oof. 2023 has been the most expensive year of gaming for me in a very long time. Bethesday were going to have to really have to sell me on Starfield to spend $70 on launch, and right now I don't think they have.

Why you want the votes to be public? It's not a fucking avatar bet.

That said, 90-95.

Edit. Wow, Represent. Represent. is one pathetic individual. He went back in the thread and gave this post a 'lol' reaction after 10+ hours.

Game is currently 88 on Metacritic for PC.

What an absolute loser.
Chill lmao

Someone just gave me a "triggered" reaction 3 minutes ago and I went to check what my post was. It just happened to be your post was right below mine, so I laughed.

Don't think I actually went back and scrolled a million pages just to laugh at your post. You are not special lmao.

These are some great scores, pretty much what I expected. I can't wait to play this game eventually, sucks to miss out because Bethesda releases in my opinion are such a huge event since they're so rare, but it'll have to wait until I eventually have a place to play.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a good game, but that $400M was supposed to be an investment in a killer app, and this ain't it.

I'm not, but you certainly are a 'special' boy.

This 3-minute video by NXG perfectly summarizes my feelings and disappointments with Starfield.

To me, Starfield is a story of wasted potential. This game could have been super special, a 95+ must-play.
