A masterpiece.

This game singlehandedly got me into the RE franchise, a franchise that I wrote off for decades after I tried a few and decided they weren't for me.

Now I've played this, RE3 Remake, RE4 Remake, RE5, RE6, RE7, and RE Village. Still need to play the original, RE 0, and Code Veronica.

I didn't have any faith in this remake until the reveal trailer. Was completely shocked at how good this turned out to be. Incredible game.

Do yourself a favour and search for the best version of re remake\rebirth when you have to play the first one ( i think it's the pc one)

And replay re3 original, it's much better than the remake except for the graphic.

Original RE is better by keeping cheese at 11 and not dragging out the game with forced gasoline/lighter zombie disposal. Resident Evil 3 Remake is better with great TPS mechanics, action film presentation, greatly reduced backtracking, and scripted appearances of the invincible nuisance.

Well deserved. I had hoped for a re2 remakes for many years and this game was brilliant. I just wish they had spent a little more time on the B scenarios and also spent more time developing the re3 remake(even though I still enjoyed it)

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
One of the best games of the generation, after saying that it still fall short of the the original due to the content that was missing, RE3 was worse for this.
But RE4 they definitely out did themselves

well deserved, it has some missing things from the original (no zapping system was a big bummer), but overall is a great remake

Agree to disagree.

I can't play the original anymore with rebirth out there and re3 remake straight up cut content from the original game and nemesis is just better in the original (this is arguable i guess).

Well deserved. Amazing game. I played through multiple times and I hardly ever do that with games.

Could have made them a better-looking cake though! :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Sales at the end of each fiscal year, RE2R will be over 15 million by March 2025 and RE4R had the best 2nd FY (3.3 million) of any Resident Evil game.
Capcom also being more accurate with sales by rounding to the nearest 1K this year (it was nearest 50K last year and 100K before that).

Perhaps because its the best one of the remakes.

Can't figure out why they kinda ditched that setup. Semi open-ended escape room with a nemesis/Mr X type entity that moves in real-time. Keeping track of the persistence of other zombies in other rooms while backtracking, etc. It just worked real well in planning your next route carefully.

The other remakes where in my opinion way more straight forward and less interesting as a result.

They did the almost impossible: kept what was good and modernised enough for it to feel fresh and modern, not upsetting the fans and inviting a new generation to the franchise. Just wow. (Although I personally enjoyed RE4 more.)

I am the opposite. I can't play the first remake for long before I miss the dialogue of the original.

I can't stand the drawn out and uneventful original 3 with flat dialogue either. The remake's pacing, presentation, and delivery are kino.

I tried searching, but what is "kino"?

Resident Evil 1 was great, but the Second was perfect. I hope in say 10 years they will remaster it again with the technology that is available at that time.
