[Gamertag Radio] Interview with Peter Moore for Xbox 360's 20th Anniversary

This was when E3 was still alive and well. Makes me sad that we no longer have these moments. It was such an exciting time and I have such amazing memories of it. Guy always seemed very cool.

20 years, man I feel old.

Peter and crew did a fantastic job with the 360 (rrod aside). Its a shame what's happened since then.

I don't think Peter had any say with the rrod fiasco, that was all from the higher ups. The higher ups knew there was a problem, but rushed it out anyway.

"I saved the big guns .. for the big guns"

What a moment.

This man told Yuji Naka to fuck off during a meeting in Tokyo while at Sega.

Legend, he made a success of Dreamcast in his region while it flopped badly in others.

"Things break" pushed me away from xbox to this day, thank you Peter.
A lot of people didn't take care if their consoles, I lost the amount of times I saw people putting their cable boxes or vcrs on top of their console and then wondering why it overheated

Just found (dug out) my Gears 3 Limited edition 360 (along with some other retro consoles) last week.
Going to pickup a 360 controller from some dude on Facebook marketplace this evening.
Hell yeah,
Happy anniversary.

Gaming media is beginning to put interview segments into articles now.

So I'm posting this here instead of its own thread to keep discussion contained.

The Dreamcast is probably my favorite console of all time tbh.

I used to wrap my 360 in a towel - it was the accepted temporary fix for the RROD. Brought it back to life for a few weeks.

When that stopped working, I did another fix involving bolting the heatsink to the motherboard. And when that stopped working, I bought a new one and sold the corpse for parts on eBay.

Of course, not long after I'd done that, they announced the extended warranty for all RROD issues. Luckily my new 360 soon got the RROD as well.

The man is a walking W, and not just in gaming. Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years whilst he was there and he played his part in it.

If Xbox had any sense they'd fire Phil and get Peter back to try and generate some excitement in the brand again.

Was a time when I played Left 4 Dead 2 splitscreen co-op on my Xbox 360.

Today PS5/Series X doesn't even make splitscreen games 'because'.

I love your positive attitude. haha
It was the best console I'd ever had. I used to get every console available, but from the 360 onwards I stuck with Xbox, with sadly diminishing returns.

I couldn't imagine switching to a new 'ecosystem' now. When they stop making them, that'll be the end of my console-buying days.

I meant that will all the sincerity in the world. It made me chuckle which I thank you for.
