Assassin's Creed Shadows Preview (Hands on) and Description

Someone tell these guys you cand ransack monasteries in Valhalla. They should retroactivly outrage.

The Vikings were a bunch of savages without written history. If anything, they are portrayed too nicely in fiction.

Everything Ubisoft does is to shit on culture and people they despise, just like the most-awarded movie for the Oscars this year. It's the same case, and they aren't subtle about it.

Bid odd to bring this up now? It’s the exact same environmental destruction you can do in Rise of the Ronin at the various temples and shrines. You can also do similar thing to Monasteries in Valhalla as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember you killing innocent people praying in the shrine.

Holy shit the SkillUp video, wtf at Yasuke's limitations.

What the hell was Ubi thinking?

Edit: omg that scouting system, what a wasted opportunity.
edit2: lol at being able to just kill random npc's with zero consequences. No guards, no wanted system, nothing.
Within the first few seconds of the video i saw the typical ubisoft environment and hud.

Words cannot describe how my body pulled itself down into a massive fatige.

I didn’t see anyone getting killed in that clip? Just the environmental destruction. Hasn’t it been confirmed that if you go all murder-hobo you get a desync?

Japanese don’t like the shrine destruction.

All of this is completely at player discretion and isn't an objective of the game. It's like going on a killing spree in GTA.

I just booted up Rise of the Ronin and blew a praying monk's head off at a shrine.

Because the NPC flee as soon as they take damage.

Sry, I was talking about GoT. I forgot to mention that.
IDK if Risen ever mention being historic accuracy game.

It's like Assassins Creed in that it's set in a historical setting about real events (the Bakumatsu period), and also has real life figures like Ryōma Sakamoto, but the story itself is a fictionalized one.

It is one shrine in particular that is the issue a not "various temples and shrines" or monasteries?

Is it an issue? All I’ve seen about it is a handful of randos on Twitter saying it is, with zero corresponding evidence to back it up. Maybe Shadows doesn’t have the required legal permissions (if any are needed) to display the shrine. But that’s a whole different story than possible disrespect forwards Shintoism.

AC really did a site saying they will be acurracy as possible, I guess the Xbox PR site mention that.

Again, wasn't the main focus of the Rise.

If anyone is interested, the entire soundtrack seems to have been uploaded (includes spoilers in the title apparently)

pretty cool at 6:15 jumping from 20 feets to do an "assasinate" and just do 10% damage

Akshually, it took out 3 of 4 health segments, so that's 75% damage. : pushes glasses further up nose :

But also there will be a "assassinations always kill" option in the settings that I will definitely be turning on.

No, what damage him was a ground attack, not the assassinatea and If It ll not kill on hit, dont call It "assassinatea"

Again, tourists who don’t play the games. They’ve been doing dumb mounts since the feature was introduced in Origins.

I had a giant Hellhound I was riding around in one of these games. People act all offended about historical accuracy to mask their racism in this game. You can teleport assassinate ffs. Didn't you fight gods in one of them too?

This is exactly what it is. Same with people who whine about women in games. They had an argument with their mothers and never recovered.

AC has always had historical figures and locations but has never been historically accurate. Never a big deal until this game.

It doesn´t even look particularly bad, just like the usual generic Ubisoft slop which AC players seem to have liked in the past...I guess. I´d personally not touch that with a 10 feet pole....

But the perceived negativity around this one is something else. Looking forward to seeing how much of it is real and how much of it is just internet echochamber yapping.

Literally since the first Assassins Creed and in every subsequent one:

We fight the pope in Assassins Creed 2.....wearing shoes in a Temple is tame compared to that.

Eh....I don't know about that. I just think folks are jumping at the woke bogey man too much these days.

Nah, I agree when it comes to Veilguard with the trans scars, all the purple, and the fortnight like graphics that don't belong in Dragon Age, but this? It looks like all of the other games and until we see some reviews or snippets of woke dialogue, I don't think so. I wonder how different the reception would have been if the protagonist was white like in Nioh. Nowhere near as bad. And if using a black man who actually existed will make you go from liking this franchise and buying the games to saying you're boycotting. I think I am right. We can agree to disagree there.

I'd like to think folks like that are just the fringe. Maybe that's naive. I do think a lot of folks would have a problem with the game if the character was white. Probably not the same folks you are talking about though.

IDK why you waited so long to quote me, but here you go.

We’re showing real historical figures, such as Oda Nobunaga and a lot of events that happened during that time, so you’re not only playing in feudal Japan, but learning about this fantastic time period.
