Assassin's Creed Shadows 💮|OT|💮 Play Stealthy for Me |づ ╸ . •́ )メ

I've zero problems with the quest board. It is clear as day where and what is - the main quest, MC quests, Hideout NPCs quest, Open World quests from NPCs etc. I honestly don't know what you're talking about, folks. But they sure could have a quest board tutorial to explain how it works a bit better.

lol I got yaya as summon companion
she's so stronk and power
but first nitpick is coming. these castles are too repetitive. there's 5 or 6 of them in this initial region. and there are a lot more regions beyond this. so I'm a bit overwhelmed
also Kabukimono. this is horrible. I spoke to a NPC, he mentioned what they're about. and suddenly objective board shows clues about 5 of them. it ruins the immersion immensely

That's a weird quest -- I found one by accident too, I swam to shore from a boat and saw some guy in a bright kimono just standing there with no guards, and I got the assassination prompt when I approached. So I shanked him and ran away and he was one of the main kabuki generals I didn't have any clues on at all yet.

Btw i unlocked winter season without doing anything in particular.

At least i think it's winter, everything is covered on snow but the water is not frozen...

Am surprise expert mode is actually hard. Naoe really cant fight more than 3 dudes at once. Have to be a real shinobi and fight dirty throwing kunais and smoke bombs. Honor gets you dead faster than Ned Stark. And stealth is challenging now light and shadow plays a big part and enemies can look up and see Naoe ninja ass trying to be sneaky.
Or just use the chained blade and aoe the fuck out of every group...

I'm actually finding the game much easier than valhalla, but tbf, last time i played valhalla, they added 1-2 extra challenge modes after hard.

No idea why this game only have 3 difficulty modes.

Honestly my favorite part of the game. gives me brotherhood vibes. Its been so long since we had a game focused on assassinations.

Last night i assassinated a guy in Kyoto (gorgeous city btw) and immediately after 3 of his kids showed up at his residence forcing me to take them on almost immediately with no rations. Thankfully Fat Abby was not a cool down and fully upgrade so she spartan kicked the shit out of one of them while i took out the rest of his kids ending that lineage of samurai once in for all. Just awesome stuff.
The exact same thing happened to me hahahah -I was like what the fuck is happening and I'm fucked

I wish I knew how seasons work. I haven't played that much (4 hours in, and doing mostly optional content) but I haven't figured yet what triggers a change from one season to the next. The world is gorgeous in the seasons I've seen, though.

Time. Just keep doing missions and eventually on the map it will tell you when you can manually change to a different season. Press Right on the dpad or just fast travel somewhere.

think of it like time of day, only slightly longer. my guess is 30 ingame minutes.

just pass time doing stuff, but i think you can change season manually after a certain point.

Mission structure is confusing as fuck. I have no clue whats a side mission, optional, or a main quest.

The game tells you this though, and if you missed it you can read it again in the codex, basically anything that pulses on the objective board advances the story, so practically all the center stuff.
Everything else is just regional stuff where you help people.

Oh I see, thanks both! I'm curious to see how the map looks in Winter. I loved that transition back in AC III.

The main missions are the masked dudes, everything else is sidequest i think, but sometimes to kill a masked dude you have to solve a sidequest, like i had to fuck up and entire lineage of targets to get a dude to collaborate.

Main targets always have a chain of missions, long cutscenes etc. But almost every secondary target can be killed naturally in the world.

I've spent almost 20h doing all the stuff from the first region, but today I think 'm going to power through the main story until I unlock Yasuke so I can have more options to tackle some of the open world activities.

Any missions that aren't in The League circle are side missions to me.

So far the best thing has been hunting those different crews down. Really good shit. They basically expanded on the best side mission in Tsushima which was going after those six straw hat ronin.

No subs when NPCs talk in Japanese? Damn, that's a bummer. I always like the NPC chatter. But at the same time I don't want to have English speaking people in this game, damn.

Remember the guy yesterday that presumably got his "friend account" to play the game (more like he watched a playthrough in youtube) saying that Yasuke has the worst character control in a videogame? Lol

As soon as I started the game the other day and controlled him, it felt great and tight. And the combat with him was really good

The hate towards this game is starting to be a joke and stupid if you ask me
I think he meant compared to your average assassin protagonist, he is slower and heavier than pretty much any ac protagonist, but we all knew that he was the tank in the game so why was he expecting a bee instead of a beetle?! :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

but couldn't he be like shaq

jk

To be honest, it makes sense. I never understood how Jin Sakai was so agile while wearing those heavy Samurai armors. The way Yasuke moves makes total sense to me and I like the way it's implemented. That being I am happy that most of the game is meant for Naoe, but having the option to use Yasuke to have more variety is great in my book

i´ll be the first one to say it boldly...AC Shadows is better than Ghost of Tshushima....the attention to detail is amazing.

Yeah it's definitely replaced it when it comes to the "I have a feudal Japan game" itch

Aside from the erection inducing visuals, the fact that you can skip dialogue alone makes Shadows the better experience to me :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Approached a "naoe" marked quest as yasuke and it actually triggered and changed the dialogue a bit, that was pretty cool.

The way dirt ever so slightly deforms when you walk on it, and that deformation becoming stronger when it's wet, is the kind of detail that's borderline psychotic lol, most people will never see

Cloths get dirty too when rolling about in mud/muddy puddles & washes off when you swim or roll in water.

Get ready for terminator mode . Boy is a monster I just started playing with him yesterday and it feels damn good 👍

Do these writers even know what the game is about before they put stupid dialogue into this game...

So I reached the enryaku temple and suddenly she starts blubbering about men and their useless and wasteful revenge plots. BITCH your whole arc started with revenge for your father. Fuck this triggered me lol.

In origin, tsushima was supposed to be like shadows, no climbing with heavy armour etc, then they just simplified everything.

holy shit I tried to subscribe to Ubisoft plus to try this and it's the biggest regret of my life. I am so turned around trying to link and unlink accounts that I don't even know how I was able to purchase the subscription anymore.

Btw add me to the people who actually like the mission structure ui, circles are tight 🕺
I love it.

You can always scout the map using scouts and they will give you a classic AC marker on the map.

I love doing the circle quests. Just did one with yasuke where he was like lets just get all of them in one place and attack head on. They gave me the option of doing 1v1 battles but i trusted my man yasuke to finish the job and he killed all three in a minute. lol

The naginata is a beast. So many awesome special moves in this game.

Played some more and killed the first target after the Prologue.

I think the game is great and on par with GoT, but the targeting system is absolutely horrible.
Might have been the same with GoT, but AC is often an annoyance, in particular due to the camera.

Just unlocked the kama with a chain (no idea what it's called). Can't wait to try it out.

I hate the quest board. I still don't understand what order I should tackle things in. Hate it.

The only reason to use yasuke for me are his heavy looking hits, so only kanabo for me :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Only use lock on against single targets, fight freeform against groups.

If you use lock on you are gonna parry hits from enemies behind you and when they are staggered you are not able to hit them unless you rapidly change target, just don't use lock on.

Tsushima didn't even had a lock on at launch and i never turned on in that game.

Game still has some weird lod on the ground. Some area has those flat surfaces in the distance and i even see popin as i approach closer. This is on ultra settings. Which is weird because the tree and building distance is pretty insane

it's been a good life.

I linked the Ubisoft account to my Xbox profile but Xbox acts like it has no idea. When I go to Ubisoft plus app or ac shadows it just prompts me to "join Ubisoft plus".

If anyone has dealt with this lmk. Just spend like 30+ mins on phone support and nothing.
