Not too surprising considering by this point, most people that wanted to play it have already. Not to mention that it was divisive so a lot of people have no desire to revisit it.

Poorly made port of a divisive game that came out like 5 years ago. No shit nobody gives a fuck about it.

One of the benefit of Steam, you can actually see who's playing what and don't have to wait for the developers to announce or in ND case, not announce numbers.
Don't worry though, the defence force tell us how this is good 👍

I might pick it up down the line, but by the end of the first one I was glad I was done with it and didn't even bother with the extra content.

It's doing what's expected on a platform where spec-demanding single player games don't do great, except few exceptions, plus 5-year old game.

Actually not too bad for a 5y old golf game. But i thought it would do better with season 2 around the corner
I expect to see a bump when Season 2 hits (if thats good), I dont know about the game I've heard divisive things but also that it's a great game.

For an old sp game that already reached sales saturation and every copy sold makes a solid profit i'd say it's very healthy numbers along with user score.

Way more than any recent brand new sp game by Microsoft for example.

Its a 5 year old game and its main promo will be the tv show that will run for like 2 or 3 seasons.

It will be fine. Also….those numbers are more than fine for a fully priced half a decade game lol

You can always tell that some people don't understand things by the way they use tools incorrectly.

I'm not sure how many times people have to be told that CCU is not a metric to determine whether a game is performing well, especially a single player game, but beyond that and even beyond the age of this game, the success of this game is going to largely depend on the success of the second season on HBO.

A successful second season will likely draw continuous legs not only for this game but for the first game and not only on Steam but on PSN as well.

In that sense, the game is basically in early access until the season starts next Sunday. The only people making a pre-determination of the success of this game are those that don't understand Sony's transmedia strategy. The same is true of Until Dawn which will premier on the 25th of April and have probably two additional chances at success following the movie; its first run on Netflix, followed by Spooky month in October. If the movie performs at all well either theatrically or on streaming, it would set up for spooky month sales, especially at a discounted price.

Gran Turismo wasn't a box office success, but it found a lot of success on Netflix which directly corresponded with a boost in sales globally.

Dunno if u consider starfield recent, 6th sept 2023 so current gen and barely 1,5yo, imo thats still relatively recent, wasnt even that great of a game, and yet:
330k ccu on steam even with being "free" on gamepass :messenger_sunglasses:

A critical thinker would ask himself why Sony released the game more than a week ahead of the premier of the second season. It's so that they can get the game out and fix any small issues with the game before more people pick up the game.

They've barely done any advertising for this game, but people expect it to have the week 1 sales of a game like Monster Hunter Wilds or even Assassin's Creed Shadows? Even with advertising those games are brand new as opposed to nearly 5 years old. What exactly are your expectations here and why?

Maybe in Copeland, but here in the real world we think otherwise:

Monster Hunter Wilds is a brand new AAA game with a massive ad budget and is an online game
Schedule I costs 20 dollars and is an online game
Path of Exile 2 30 dollars and is an online game
REPO costs 10 dollars and is an online game

All of these are new releases releasing within the last 4-5 months.

Please find me a single player game that came to PC years later with no real RPG elements that has a high CCU count...

I mean, it's not like the first one did gangbusters either. This is about what I'd expect for a late port of an entry in a series PC gamers evidently don't have a whole lot of interest in.

CCU is definitely a useful tool in determining success, any one saying otherwise is coping. However, it's definitely true that CCU isn't the full story, it'd be far more useful if we could just have raw sales numbers. But they give a good idea of succsess on steam, and able to compare to other similiar titles, can give a decent guess at a games performance.

I'd say it seems to be selling just fine all things considered, it's a dog shit game, came out like 5 years ago, and anyone who cared either bought it 5 years ago, or stopped caring by now. Late ports will always underperform compared to new games.

I didn't even know it was coming out now. They do zero marketing it seems like. The post on X about it being pirated is how I found out. Ha!

Everyone that wanted to play the game already did on PS4 and PS5. Those numbers are the 5090 PCMR people taking screenshots to say it looks SO MUCH BETTER than the PS5 Pro version.

jk :messenger_beaming:
It's alright for a 5 yo game that was an exclusive for the most popular consoles of 2 generations, I guess.

The game has been successful on PS where it belongs and ND is considered a successful studio, thats all that matters to me.
For the PC, i just hope it will earn the investment back.

Its still a banger, have played through it several times in years now on all difficulties. Still have this clip from og ps4 back from launch. That mist in light is just chefs kiss
Also no return is great addition, really fun

Yes lets keep comparing every other game to smash hits, thats surely a reliable way to determine if a game is a succes.

Jesus christ.

Are you okay?

Also comparing a port of a five year old singleplayer game at full price against three cheap ass games and one big hitter

Like it's clear and obvious trolling.
