The Last of Us Part II Remastered releases on Steam with CCU of 30.5k

What the fuck are 2 and 4?
Successful indie games.

Jesus christ.

Are you okay?
When you type like this you sound like you are malding.

Also comparing a port of a five year old singleplayer game at full price against three cheap ass games and one big hitter
It's not full price. But ok I'll bite. What should we compare it to? How would you measure if it's doing well or not?

Game peaked at only 27458

Games tend to peak on Sunday.

Also that's a solid number already.

This seems to be a thing when PS exclusives come to PC. They seem to make enough money because Sony keeps porting them.

One of the benefit of Steam, you can actually see who's playing what and don't have to wait for the developers to announce or in ND case, not announce numbers.
Don't worry though, the defence force tell us how this is good 👍
It's not actually bad number's wise and it could go up.

For a port of a game that came out 5 years ago, it has done much better than others like Indiana Jones or Avowed, the one that has been an epic fail is South of Midnight, not even 500 players :pie_diana:

You can tell who in this thread is retarded by the posts calling TLOU2 a dogshit game, and a flop. Easy list of people to never take seriously on any gaming related discussion. The game sold 4 million in its first week alone on PS4 and is quite possibly THE game of the previous generation.

Go take your shitty posts to the Asmongold subreddit where incel PC gamers keep each other company.

For an old sp game that already reached sales saturation and every copy sold makes a solid profit i'd say it's very healthy numbers along with user score.

Way more than any recent brand new sp game by Microsoft for example.

MS games are also on their subscription service so you cannot compare on Steam CCU alone :lollipop_confused:

27K is not great, not terrible. Port will pay for itself and make some extra money, but it won't be mega profitable enterprise like God of War or Tsushima (let alone Helldivers 2).

What hurts it are several factors - bad state of the first game at launch, somewhat bad reputation/word of mouth, 5 years of age..

Hell I own the game on PS4 Pro since 2020 too, but the 30fps made me drop it and wait, so I will finally play it now on PC. I bought it, but given how long I already waited, I am not in a hurry to play it now.

I'd have bought it if I didnt have to use mods on the first day to make it a tolerable experience.

I can wait. TLOU on PC is gorgeous.

It's a cheap low effort port of a 5 year old game..... They will be making a very decent profit
That has nothing to do with the quality of the port. Based on Steam reviews most people are happy of how it play on their rigs. DF interviewed the team and they went the extra mile to improve performance on PC. But the game is just too optimized for Playstation consoles so there is not much they can do on PC.

This is just not the game people wanted after TLOU1. That's all.

This is higher than I expected,,,for all the reasons everyone already gave.. if the o.p said it was under 10,000, I would've straight up believed him without even checking…. Close to 30,000 is pretty decent…. I just started this game on ps5 last week, beautiful game, some of those Dino fights can be exhilarating and fun …BUT, this game is wordy as fuck.. I already been through about 15 different chats with npc characters that seem to have lasted about 10 minutes each, and my patience has worn thin….im at a point where I'm constantly pressing the X button just to skip it through the chats(and even that seems to take a few minutes)…. And because of that,I got no idea what's going on in the story…I am enjoying the gameplay well enough though.
Wrong game?

It's a port of a 5 year old game. If someone waited 5 years to play it then I'd assume they are probably happy waiting a bit longer for a sale, especially with all the other releases right now. It's not that far of the peak CCU of the first one and you can check sales estimates to see how well that roughly sold on PC.

Amazing game but also 5 years old. probable people played it already.
Or it got a bad enough rep + it's a strictly single player story game, so it's not popular on pc.

Didn't Sony resolve this issue? Now PSN is always optional ?
That's different problem. What Sony resolve is you don't need PSN to sign in to play the game.
And Sony have started to block their games on Steam on regions where you can't make a PSN account. Like my country.

No matter what you think of its performance, it does indicate that continued PC porting can only be cannibalistic.

I helped with this. It's really a testament to the gameplay team. Keep in mind, I played TLOU1 in November. So I'm pretty fresh.

I had rock bottom expectations for the writing. I knew the big story "twist" going in. The moment-to-moment dialog between Ellie and Nina is awful. It's plain to see that Druck has seething contempt for the traditional gaming audience. Well beyond indifference. Everything that makes the game special has been cultivated from the Uncharted series, so it succeeds in spite of the director rather than because of.

It's low, accept it folks. Even after 5 years, I'm surprised it has received so little attention. I'd like to think that everyone already bought a ps and finished it long ago. Despite the low player numbers generated by big ps games, it's fortunate that Sony still hasn't abandoned this pc adventure.
