Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* | Teaser Trailer | Only In Theaters May 2025

Wow. Way to spoil how the film will play out, teaser.

So clearly the team will get sucked into a universe where they have shawarma for fingers and John Walker becomes a master chef with the aid of an alternate Rocket Raccoon who controls John's cooking like a puppet, Bucky gets possessed by Mephisto and starts making people slowly behead themselves with piano wire, and Yelena is crowned queen by the cult of Doom and has Valentina placed in a disemboweled bear's body and burned alive and Yelena watches as she gives a crazed smile. Cue credits.

The asterisk in the title will fade away to reveal the full title:

... alright I'm in. I loved Beef and all the other movies listed.

She has some of the wildest swings in hottness.

From total girl next door

to WTF?

Something about her gives me fat girl energy. Like she's not unattractive in the classic sense, but she ain't beautiful in the classic sense either. Probably would be fat if she weren't an actress.

Also nose rings are an instant turn off for me. Look like a cow.

New trailer dropped and it confirms Sentry (or in this case the Void) is the big bad.

I'm not sure how a team like the Thunderbolts can beat the Void? Standard Sentry would one shot the whole team in under a second. In fact, Sentry would solo the Avengers without breaking a sweat and the Void is another step up from that.

However, the Void does look very cool.

Very low expectations for this, I find all of them lame and everything they have been in so far poor.

Don't think I come across anyone in real life who ever mentioned or care about any of these characters.

This is how I feel about 99% of this entire genre, and yet I've liked some of the characters/stories.

Honestly outside of Hulk / Spiderman (and the bad guys from old Spiderman movies) not sure I ever consumed a piece of media with any other Marvel characters.

I just really liked Black Widow. It's a fun action movie with small trappings of a cape film is probably why I liked it.

Honestly biggest fear of this one is that it does the "throw a ton of characters on screen" thing the MCU does.

It's surprising due to how I thought this looked lame from the beginning but looking at how they are marketing it, the movie actually looking fun. Not to mention The Sentry/Void looking amazing has sold me on this movie. I just think it should have been Rated R 👀

Not sure you need to add spoilers there.

That's been shown in the trailers. "both" characters as well.

I just don't know how a team like the Thunderbolts can take on a threat that rip through the Avengers with ease. Seems like way too much for the Thunderbolts to handle.

Maybe that's the joke. Final act the thunderbolts are all laid out, then we just see the feet of all the avengers beating the bad guy.

For me, I love the idea of a team that isn't "super" but fighting someone so powerful. I also really like the guy from stranger things

Not a fan of Stranger Things but that guy was one of the few things I liked about that show. Regarding Thunderbolts I hope they actually fight like a team and use their wits to survive the main villain. When they first revealed the movie I thought it looked lame due to the first image released being the teams make up and it was mostly just a bunch of super soldiers with no distincting power sets at all except Ghost. But I'm keeping an open mind and waiting on streaming for this one 😉

gonna have low expectations, is that ghost girl from Ant-man and Wasp I see in the trailer? I forget her face, so I guess I didn't realize she was in this too.

wonder if Captain Falcon is gonna have a cameo and be like "yea, i'm busy, good luck" instead of helping like in the Captain America movie with Bucky

The characters are all so meh (except you winter solider) that knowing Marvel will probably not give two shits about killing them off (shh, not you Bucky, it's fine) makes the film somewhat appealing, their is 0% chance all of them make it out of the film.

If you watch the trailer with close-caption enabled you can actually hear the editor saying "CGI that ghost character into this shot, it's too obvious she's dead, I can't believe we forgot she was even in the film for the last three trailers, no not her corpse, make her look less dead, perfect."

You mean Taskmaster. Ghost is in plenty of scenes in these trailers.

Sorry, yes, I meant {generic female villain who isn't a good villain because Disney don't want to make women unlikable so they just end up being bland and forgettable}, I'm glad {insert name} is confirmed to be in this, I loved them in that Ant Woman Disney+ show, and I look forward to having them not die in the first 20 minutes of the film.

Old Russian guy is on the chopping block imo

Not a very good argument when this movie contains Valentina:

g8yrv8P.jpeg

Tried to manipulate Yelena into killing Hawkeye, backstabbed Everett Ross, and fully admits that if she gained access to Wakanda's vibranium that she would use it to bring the rest of the world under her country's thumb. I'm going to say, um, she might just be a TAD unlikable.

Unlikable? Sounds more like patriotism and a desire to defeat the oppressive Wakandan monopoly on a natural resource they refuse to use for global benefit.

And wow, I am soooooo out of touch with post Endgame MCU. I thought Grillos character eventually became Taskmaster, I totally wiped almost all of Black Widow from my mind (well, I'm not even sure I finished it) to realize Olga Kurylenko was playing that role.

Sounds more like she's justifying the Wakandan's reluctance to share vibranium. I didn't realize patriotism meant the desire to see a democracy transform into a borderline empire.

Seriously, bro, come on.

Wakanda: small nation that is highly advanced but does not impose themselves in other nations aside from minor incidents like claiming Zemo must be their prisoner (and to be fair, the Avengers themselves have broken a few similar laws themselves)
Valentina: wants to advance the US' military powers through vibranium to such a degree she can threaten all other nations into doing what she wants

The former is at most guilty of doing a few things that at worst would lead to heated discussions at the U.N., the latter is a power hungry psychopath who is practically trying to kickstart World War III.

She also tried to have Yelena kill Hawkeye, a man who contributed to saving countless lives and eventually all life in the universe, purely to "test" Yelena's capabilities.

Also, this trailer shows she clearly has a role in setting off The Void, so all the deaths, of her own American people mind you, we see she will be partially responsible for.

You still pro-Valentina? Because that's like watching Game of Thrones and cheering for Cersei Lannister.

That's not being out of touch with post Endgame, since Crossbones killed himself by activating the explosives on his vest in Civil War in a failed attempt to take Steve out as well.

Wakanda is a HIGHLY xenophobic totalitarian regime, perpetuated by a viscous blood sport cycle of male violence selecting only the most savage and ruthless to be their leader, that infiltrates outside cultures but violently suppresses any attempt of their members to leave or grow away from their influence. They hoard a natural resource for themselves, depriving their own region of the benefits, much less the world.

The US at least establishes a fairly open world trade network, prevents overly egregious attempts to invade other countries, promotes democracy, womens rights, etc. It's utterly laughable to think that vibranium is in better hands with the Wakandans that it would be with the US. Who, by the way, have full access to hover carriers, iron man repulsor tech, and pym tech yet have not used it for world domination. It was european based Hydra that tried that. Though I am shocked the US allowed New Asgard to go to Norway instead of keeping those highly advanced refugees within the protective bosom of America where they could actually contribute to protecting their new homeland from the various interplanetary threats out there was well as try to preserve the nine realms they used to police and defend and which have BILLIONS of inhabitants. Those folks have responsibilities beyond being a tourist attraction, if only they had proper leadership instead of a drunk.

Death being so meaningless in the MCU, I figured he could come back. But yes, Crossbones was who I was thinking of for Taskmaster.

What version of the MCU are you watching? Bizarro World MCU?

Regardless of what you think of their methods of deciding leadership, the "most savage and ruthless" is obviously not applicable considering the very first duel we see has T'Challa sparing M'Baku.

"infiltrates other cultures" Care to give a significant amount of examples? Also, let's not pretend there's no history of the other way around, oh wait, that scene with Killmonger in the museum where he calls them out on the Wakandan artifact they had in their possession would suggest otherwise……

"violently suppresses" Nakia in Wakanda Forever is living in Haiti, and no one forces her to come back. So your statement is objectively false.

The end of the first BP movie makes it completely clear T'Challa will begin aiding people outside Wakanda with their technology, but they're not giving them vibranium as they know plenty of countries will abuse that power, and Valentina flat out admitting she will use it to strike fear to the rest of the world proves that point.

The US government does not have access to Pym tech, that was a major plot point from the first Ant-man movie. Nor do they have access to most Stark tech, in fact the one time Stark assisted a U.S. government group, SHIELD, in building a major weapon for them……it proceeded to get taken over by HYDRA people who had been working for said US government group (European? Dude, that was WWII HYDRA, the people who were inside SHIELD were obviously mostly American if they worked for such an important American government group that specialized in covert missions, surveillance, and such. This is like looking at an American Neo-Nazi and thinking that makes him automatically German, like dude, a specific fascism movement can spread beyond a country's borders) and nearly wiped out hundreds of millions of people (for the FIRST use of the three ships, mind you) all while being led by a top government official who was even former Secretary of Defense for the US.

Awkward Oh No GIF by CBC

Why are you giving the Asgardians shit? Their people have been reduced to insanely small numbers after the attack by Malketh, then the attack by Hela, and finally Thanos killing 50% of them (no, not through the Snap, when he arrives on Thor's ship that had left Asgard after Ragnarok, it's stated he and his forces killed half of those on the ship) and Asgard is no more, they likely lack the materials and such on Earth to properly share what technology they had. And a drunk? I can rewatch Love and Thunder, but I don't remember Valkyrie being drunk while she was on the job.

Like, bro, you clearly need an ENTIRE MCU rewatch if you're getting all this wrong.

^^^^^Wakandan infiltrator agent detected! Not sure how you could POSSIBLY defend "election by combat" as a system of rulership, nor one that specifically excludes women. You sick misogynist! Vibranium is not a Wakandan invention, it is not "their's to give". It is a NATURAL RESOURCE OF EARTH. Not sure how you can justify their criminal hoarding of this resource.

Asgard needs a Douglas MacArthur figure, a "WE WILL BE BACK" leaving the Philippines type that doesn't just quit and lay down, but organizes, mobilizes, and recruits to build back stronger.

They need a General Zod.......

-excludes women? No one told Shuri she couldn't technically participate when she offered to duel her brother (before she clarified she was joking), it is never stated to be restricted to men.

The hell? If it's part of their country, it's their property. How the fuck are they criminals for that?

Like, dude, is no group of people allowed to just "live and let live"? If the Asgardian people are content with how they are, who is anyone else to tell them off? It would be one thing if Norway gave their conditions to allow their stay and Valkyrie had failed to meet them, but there's zero evidence that's the case, so her and her people have done nothing wrong.

-Zod?! you want all of humanity to be wiped out?!

I would say you're joking about some of this, but these days, it's getting harder to tell with people……
