Has anyone kept up with watching the Pokemon Pocket Monsters television TV show?

How does that compute? How is the show in demise when there is a new season for every installment of game? When there is over 750 episodes? If anything, its prospering...

US version still exists because they keep producing the Japanese version. It stopped being popular or at least on at regular times in the US after they switched VA studios. I don't even know what channel it's on anymore.

Its on Cartoon Network Saturday morning.

Did Ash finally banged confessed to Misty?

I remember that years ago It was the only reason I keep watching the show, because it was boring as fuck...

The show needs to be more like the promo animes for Black and White 2. Follow the male and female trainers through the plot of each new game. Or just follow the Pokemon Adventures manga.

Enough of Ash, he sucks. And in order for the show to continue, he must forever suck. No one likes a shit protagonist.

I've been watching the new episodes randomly and they're pretty good. The show went downhill for a bit after the Orange Islands imo but it's recovered a lot since. I tend to watch this stuff to help me sleep. The movies are really good, though. They're in a whole different league than the TV show.

Pokemon actually gets really good ratings in both the US and Japan(its in the top 10 for anime every week). From what I've heard the reruns don't do too well though.

Its still the best episode of the show Charizard vs Magmar episode?

I stopped at the middle of the orange tournament filler and I think most of my friends that watched the show also stopped there.

I dint know Jessie and James were serious now, the only serious episode I remember of them is when they first appear and blow up the veridian center (i think is the second episode of the first season).

I prefered to watch Digimon at the end, even if I left after 02's ending.

I think Pokemon would have been better if they followed the games more adding new story elements), or doing something like the manga and making a competent ash. Most people hate his because his a complete idiot, nobody sane would have done some of the decissions he made.

Ash would never confess his love for Misty because he honestly has no interest in her at all, he has no idea what any of that stuff even means lol.

People think we're joking but he seriously is forever 10.

The Pokemon are looking for mates for sex and he still says "HEY NOW YOU GUYS CAN BE GOOD BUDDIES!" and Iris just rolls her eyes and calls him a kid (seriously lol).

Its really really stupid how after so long he seemingly is going BACKWARDS, the show doesn't have to be so dumb in that sense, there are things they can easily do but they won't.

Best Wishes is...is pretty bad. :(

They turned Team Rocket into generic villains without any personality (and they actually fail in stupider ways then when they were incompetent), and Ash is now stupid...now Kanto Stupid, but even stupider. And this is after Diamond and Pearl went the other way and made him progressively a better trainer.

Oh, and they wrote Team Rocket out...like...of the whole show. They just got on a helicopter and went back to Kanto after a recent 2-parter. :/

Iris and Cilan are cool though.

Orange Island seriously had some of the best episodes in the whole series, it was 'filler' in the sense it wasn't following a game but the cool thing about Pokemon anime was they could do whatever they wanted and as far as the anime story went a lot of important things happened in it.

Despite taking a million years to long (they stretched that out waaaay too much, and they learned), the end of the Johto League was the best thing ever, perfectly awesome finale that wrapped allllll the way back to the start. If Ash had won that or even lost closely and 'gone off alone to return awesomely later' things would have been great.

Start with a new guy and imagine the possibilities of them meeting etc.

Instead every series its START AGAIN LOL NOW I'M STUPIDER THAN BEFORE. WHY AM I SO WEAK DUUUURH MY POKEMON I JUST CAUGHT ARE LVL1 WHY CAN'T I WIN?????? WOW WHATS THAT?????????????? *scans Pikachu*

:(

I remember watching this show a lot back in highschool in the late 90s. It seemed interesting, a grand new adventure.

But it started to dawn on you that Ash is still ten, he gives up badass Pokeman for no apparent reason, and doesn't win any big champions, and MISTY left!

When you realize poor Ash is in purgatory of chasing the dream of "being the best there ever was" aka Pokemon Master, forever, it saddens me. :(

I actually do still watch it, dubbed only though... though it's just something I have playing on the background. Series is still the same meh as always.
I actually got excited about the ending of Sinnoh because I thought Ash was finally going to win something.

This becomes an event horizon incident when coming from the Shinnoh League to Best Wishes. In the Shinnoh League, Ash had to go through literally the most challenging fights that he ever had in the series. Of course, they cheated him by having him fight some legendary trainer, but hey, at least he beat an unbeatable Darkrai (which literally swept the tournament with two moves) and tied a Latios with Pikachu.

... And then two episodes later, Ash somehow cannot beat a newbie trainer.

Ash beating that Darkrai was cool as, it took near his whole team but like you said no one else even got close......

Then that guy's next Pokemon ok Latios I chose you!

Ash: "OH FFS!"

lol, and then he even took that one out double KO wasn't it? So he had none left. :(

Like I said before the show does/will sill have cool moments that make it worth watching, thats prolly what keeps me going (and cause I love Pokemon) but its just frustraiting why it has to be a 1 out of every 10....20(?) amazing-to-shit episode ratio.

Even simple character progression could help, instead it just gets erased all the time. The 'new Ash' each time theory makes more sense than the actual same Ash but regressing reality does lol.

Obviously Pikachu can't just go and destroy everything or else it would be too easy. But I like when they show him as being strong like he should be.

The show definitely needs more character development, like Ash finally becoming a proper champion and beating the Elite Four, or Ash's father making an appearance.

It's on Cartoon Network, and I believe it does pretty damn good numbers for where it is.

Well, demise was the wrong word used still because it's still on and running healthy...a lot of kids somewhere are still watching...

I can't say I dislike what was done to Team Rocket. Their previous antics and screentime just made every single episode much more repetitive than they needed to be. Their reduced screentime and now complete removal from the series is the best thing that Best Wishes has done to me.

I really dislike their new insistence in keeping Ash a 10 years old though. Previous series just left things vague and didn't go into much detail about it, while showing that Ash had actually been a trainer for a while and such. They had mentioned in interviews that he was intended to be forever 10 years old, but never seemed to make it a big point in the series. Best Wishes though seems to want to make sure that everyone watching the show gets that he's 10 years old, hasn't ever aged and will never age. It just seems completely unnecessary, almost like someone in the staff got annoyed by some suggestion of letting Ash age and this was their (over)reaction to that.

I hate to use a meme image to get a point across, but this image pretty much sums up why Ash is forever 10.

I don't watch them all the way through. My kids do. I peek in on the action from time to time.

Misty is still the best female protagonist, by far, in Pokemon. And one of the better in kids' animation series.

I don't have a problem with Ash's age being "frozen in time". Comic super heroes are too.
