You should purchase the game anyways!
There's nothing I can do with it! Gah, I wish Gaikai would launch with PS4!

It looks amazing but I still don't get it. 16 people per server? Persistant world?
Does the game world just act as a lobby of sorts for activities you can do with your friends?
How are random pick up groups going to work exactly? Who decides what to do? Does anyone? Is it just chaos?
Guys, GTAV has RUINED other games for me and it isn't even out yet.
I was and am planning on getting Saints Row 4 at launch. But now, I'm almost at the point where I may not even bother and buy it next year. Let me be clear, I have been an avid fan of SR since the first game and 4 will likely hit home with its ode to earlier entries and I'm positive I'm going to enjoy it.
But on the flip side, HOLY SHIT GRAND THEFT AUTO V. It's like, WHO CARES, ya know? I look at the GTA Online trailer, and I just don't want to finish my Saints Row The Third replay I was doing before 4 hits. It's like, it looks so limiting in comparison.
I want to play GTAIV, but even that looks like it pales. I haven't even booted up a single game today besides a quick Team Fortress session. All other games just look fucking BORING to me now.
This isn't hyperbole at all and I'm really hoping others feel the same way so I don't feel like I'm crazy.

hopefully one day we can have a 50 player gta online with the mechanics of the sa-mp gamemode named pen1 (public enemy no.1). I'd be all over that.
That would be insane, and probably not in the good way.
GTA Online comes INSIDE GTAV. How can you not be sold on GTAV but be totally okay with GTAO? It makes no sense!
believe me, it worked very very well.
I'm even cancelling my ps4 pre order. It's like, who gives a fuck? I'll have GTAV.
So when I load up GTA Online, and I start cruising the town, will everyone I see be online?
Yeah I loved it.
Online jail if you got caught, hiring drivers, and taking on hit man missions I remember taking on a contract on a guy called the transporter who was one of the best drivers on the server took me 50mins to kill the bastard he led me all over the SA map he almost got away in a heli , but I shot it up and killed him before he could make his escape.
I m very seriously considering doing the same I was going to get a XBOX one this year and a a PS4 mid next year but this game may keep me more than entertained.

I had a dream I was playing GTA V last night. Hype is reaching maximum levels.
Oddly enough in my dream I chose to play as Trevor first, but I've always said to myself if I had the option I'd choose Michael. What does this mean GAF? Do I subconsciously prefer Trevor?
I think this game will be generation defining.

I am excited to play GTA, but I've never gotten more than a couple hours into campaign with any of em. I just like multi really so that's my biggest reason for getting this game. That said I'm beyond hyped, and a little annoyed it's not coming until the 1st.
Seems like they could have just released the game on the 1st if it's not done.
so are people gonna buy the single player as well?

the only thing that confuses me about this, is if we will see Michael, Franklin and Trevor in GTA Online?

OP should be updated with a quick cheat sheet of information because every page has the same annoying questions...
"So why buy the SP game if GTAO looks so much better"
"This better not cost more!!"
"Is this an MMO? What do you mean 16 players? How does that work??"
Goddamnit.
It's the same as the "ARE THESE SCREENS OF PC or XBox One??" "NO way this is current gen" crap from every trailer thread.
Franklin and Trevor as NPC are likely, since they've been living in LS for awhile.
what about Michael
Grand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players
A whopping 16 players?! Wow, what will they think of next?
Seriously, up that shit. 256 would be decent.
I think you can use anywhere you want. The editor sounds very robust. Although they have said, out of the box on launch it will be limited, anxd then they'll be unlocking more abilities for the editor as time goes on. I'm gonna trust R* on this strategy, as you could get a lot of shit starting out and people are just creating garbage.

Grand Theft Auto: Online Fact Sheet - The Basics
- Included with a purchase of GTAV. (It does not cost extra and is not sold as a stand alone game)
- Will be unlocked with a small download on October 1st. (GTAV's release date is still Sept 17)
- The game world is persistent with hundreds of thousands of players playing online at any time, but you play in isolated instances of the game world comprised of a maximum of 16 people.
- Currently only announced for X-Box 360 and PS3
I still don't really understand the way this works.
So I have a garage and an appartment and money and stocks.
But I don't always play with the same guys, instead it's going to be random to some degree.
How do they prevent several people from owning the same appartment and similar stuff?

I hope it's anywhere. I will be addicted to this frigging game if it's that open and the tools are flexible enough.
The shooting model is a very solid foundation to construct some cool MP.
The most important thing imo is that they allow for respawn or round-based game types. And it would be great if they would allow you (eventually) to use different modes/mechanics (the stuff they show in co-op) like VIP and whatnot.
