Man, I genuinely wish TimDog wasn't such a flaming fanboy so I could take him more seriously. I actually do think he has some "connections" however tenuous they may be. But his juvenile attitude makes it so that I don't even want to bother since I'd have to use him as a source and because I don't want more people to see him as an example of xbox fans. Plus it's like... do I really want to sift through all of... that... to try to figure out what is and isn't legit?

However, do we know Jez is actually addressing this same "rumor?" <-- this is misspelled in the Thread Title btw...
Either way, hopefully May really is the time we get to see more games. Really excited to see how Halo turns out tech wise. Not holding out to much hope for the story not being full of SJW crud. But here's to hoping I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a game I'll get regardless.
Also can't wait to see what the initiative has been working on with all the talent they've gathered.
Really curious to see what kind of setup they'll have in terms of a presentation. I think it'd be really cool if they did a sort of VR presentation in a virtual theater or something where all the devs and such could "be in the same place" so to speak. Could do some really creative things with that.

There's a difference between an "insider" stating his opinion and an "insider" stating a rumour. If were going by that comment then Jez could be imply two things "Sea of Thieves is the next installment in the Minecraft series which would be a false claim or it was an opinion piece (which most people probably thought...I hope) which can not be proven or denied in this instance because if he felt it was "the next minecraft" then that's his opinion.
Now what ever rumour he states we must see if it is True or if it is False, now if he has claimed a rumour and it been false then it would put a red flag on what ever claims/rumours he makes in the future...
But if any of his rumours have been correct then yes it does put more weight on his claims.

What makes you think the same thing wouldn't be said if this was about a PlayStation/Nintendo rumour and the only "confirmation" we had was from twitter/forum fanatics?
I've already said in the grand scheme of things I don't have an issue with him. At least he gets paid to shill so at the very least he has to uphold a minimum level of integrity and professionalism.

They are mostly extreme Xbox fans that exaggerate on the stuff Microsoft delivers with the Xbox brand, and sometimes laugh with other consoles. Just ignore them... You might want to read that reply again and see what what was bolded in the quoted post. The "this is why" doesn't exist for no reason. I don't need to personally call it out as well, there's a reason the like function exists.

It was initially dismissed brushed off as "out of context" and then swiftly covered up. Then in this thread nobody else other than the post I liked has said anything (yourself included).
The fact that people don't or don't want to call out the behaviour (sometimes it's even excused or defended) tells me everything I need to know. Anti-Japanese sentiment is nothing new for a lot of the fanbase. I'm not saying it's everyone, never have, but for whatever reason the perception has been allowed to develop.
Anyway, like someone said above, live and let live. People can do what they want at the end of the day, this is just Internet discussions about vidoegames, but certain lines needn't be crossed.

I had an issue with the statement the guy made and the guy that replied to the statement...then you started going on a tangent calling Jez stupid/idiot and I could see you liked the comment where the derogatory statement was used again and said that brands should not associate themselves with you for that reason...you liking a comment isn't going to magically show in people's heads the reasoning as to why you liked the comment

While they clearly have a bias, I’ve also found them to be accurate. I remember them reporting on a 12TF console (when others were calling it far fetched) and talking about hearing from someone that Sea of Thieves was loading 40x as fast as current gen (right in line with the SSD improvements).
They clearly have sources and are getting info ahead of when it’s officially revealed. Their biases and to what degree is another topic.

MS making a stream when they already do streams and to replace the E3 conference because can't make it live. Focused on the console they will release in a few months and showing first party games including the already announced game from their main IP, the next game from their yearly racing series, another game that we know it's coming and more games... it isn't a leak, it's common sense.

Sure. "the japs" (if you don't know what it means to put someone else's words in quotation marks means, look up sarcastic quotation or scare quotes) was in bold in quote of the post you responded to but you instead got upset by the word "xbot". Like I said before, the problem comes in when people within a community focus on the wrong things to get upset about.
Maybe one day the problem will actually be delt with instead of it constantly being swept under the rug.

Putting someone's words in quotation Marks mean you are quoting them, quoting someone isn't calling out someone whether its sarcastic or scare quotes.

Okay, i'll make it clear for anyone who's still wants to know it.
I didn't know that it was derrogatory in US because we in Brazil use the abreviation for people and objects/places, i've seen other people using around the internet without being in any context of racism, what I do know is other words for derrogatory use. I even did a search after one user decided to mark it because I didn't get, so I've found out it was considered offensive in america because the GI personnel and propaganda changed its abbreviation meaning to a derrogatory one. However, outside of US, Canada and UK, it can be seen as an abbreviation.

They all definitely favor Xbox but at the same time, all own a PS4/PS4 Pro for the exclusives and have bashed since 2017 for lack of first party internal studios and exclusives. Hell, Rand told Phil how much he thought E3 2019 was crap and Phil didn't talk to him for two months. And that's from Rand himself on his podcast with Jez.
That's why I like all those guys. Yeah, they all have their preferred console and platform (like we all do) but they also bash their preferred console and platform when it deserves to be bashed. I love my PS4 Pro and have been a PS4 fanboy but at the same time, I can easily put aside what I prefer when I need to. Most PlayStation fanboys here and elsewhere for whatever reason can't seem to do that.
They reported on all the Xbox stuff months in advance of it being confirmed, Rand confirmed Horizon Zero Dawn going to PC before anyone else did, they all confirmed PS5 to be 9.2TF, etc. They simply haven't been wrong yet while all the so called PlayStation insiders haven't been correct yet with anything they've said. You would think that even the most hardcore PlayStation fanboy would eventually realize that they're just being fed bullshit.
But whatever. A lot of people drove Timdog away despite him being one of the few legitimate insiders that obviously has good sources and contacts. And all because what he says doesn't favor their agenda or bias.
Me personally, I was an Xbox 360 fanboy (PS3 was secondary) then a PS4 fanboy (Xbox One was secondary) and will be an Xbox Series X fanboy (PS5 will be secondary) simply because I always go with what I believe is the best overall console itself day one as my primary. Have done this since SNES and it's worked out for me extremely well in every generation since then.
Of course, im not loyal to either company or brand. I go with the one I see as being the best for what I want and if one fucks up like Sony with PS3 or Microsoft with Xbox One, I go with the other console brand. If anything, it's probably what majority of gamers should do because technically, you could never lose and always have the best every generation.

Ever since it was revealed at 10.3tf with 36CU (which let's face it, anyone leaking a next gen system with only 36CU and getting it right deserves brownie points right off the bat), PS fans just don't want to admit the whole time Oberon is basically PS5 without the gpu upclock.
Technically, the github is wrong, but pretty darn close. Yet you got endless naysayers downplaying it even after the reveal.
95% of insiders weren't even close as most said 12-13TF and some others even tossed in PS1-PS3 BC.
Yet, few forum fans seemed to have to balls to call them out. They just ignore it and quietly let them off the hook, as most of the insiders bailed ship anyway or have been on the down low.
Matt the Reee Mod was totally off too, yet I don't think one person called him out. Who cares if he's a mod, call him out. The guy who downplayed github and thread lockable discussion, yet github was actually closer to the final product than any insider claiming 12-13TF with 50-60 CU and full BC.
Figure that one out.

Yeah, they’re definitely not bad to listen to, especially if you’re going Xbox next gen, as I am. Sony is just messing up too much with BC and hasn’t been treating Socom right.

I've always hoped for Halo and Gears to have SP more like an open world Fallout game but with more action. A combo of exploring, RPG and shoot outs. Just not so long winded with giant maps and repetitive quests. Here's hoping the Halo open world rumour is true.
Combing a true open world game with MP is likely too much to ask for. But maybe splice it up into two games.
