I salute those that achieve this, I don't know how you find the time. It takes me weeks to finish one game 😂

Game 36 - Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake - Nintendo Switch
One of the most legendary RPG's returns with a glorious remake, servibg the absolute best version of the game ever released. It has everything a modern remake could ask for, while still being loyal to the original game. Only bummer are the frame rate problems it the Switch version, but other releases shouldn't suffer from this.

Game 37 - Ufouria: The Saga 2 -Nintendo Switch
The developers said this is a natural evolution from the original game, but I completely disagree. Instead of Metroidvania, this game is a srage based platformer with roquelike elements. Wasn't really a fan of these choices.

Game 38 - Super R-Type - SNES
Playd this quickly with NSO, so I jad something to play. Early SNES games were plaqued by slowdown, and in this game it's severe. It actually helps in certain points, because some corridors are narrow, and the ship is fast. There weren't even credits when I reached the end.

Danny Dudekisser

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I haven't attempted this since uh... 2021? I think I'll give it another shot next year, now that things have settled down for me. I actually came closer this year than I would've expected considering that I put precisely - zero - effort into it, but I've never actually reached 52. I blame my predilection for RPGs.

53. Pokémon Legends Arceus (35h, ★★★★). My second playthrough was just as fun as the first. It's a relatively simple concept, but just roaming the land tossing Pokeballs left and right is a consistently satisfying experience. Would it be better with more to do or being more challenging? Perhaps, and perhaps Z-A will do so. But this is the best Pokémon experience out there currently, and well worth the time as is. My only real complaint is Cherubi/Cherrim are so bloody impossible to find that it isn't worth trying to catch em all.

54. Imp of the Sun (4h, ). It looked like a cool platformer/Metroidvania and seemed to have some potential, but sadly this little platformer was a little half baked. You are constantly running, which makes platforming imprecise and a hassle. It allows you to reach multiple different areas from the beginning, but all areas will require skills from other areas for optional collectibles, meaning required backtracking if you care (which I didn't). But since skills also make platforming easier, your later areas are often trivialized. Puzzles, platforming, combat, exploration, nothing stands out. And the overall experience is rather short, which in this case is preferable. It's ok. Just, not standing out in any way.

55. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (6h, ★★★). A game outside of my typical repertoire, but that's ok. The puzzles were fairly simple with only so many different things one could do. Thus, never too annoying. And characters are bizarre enough to at least keep your attention.

56. Cave Story (5h, ★★). I know it's a legend and all, but I'm afraid Cave Story had to walk so other indies could run. It's not bad by any means, but it does have some annoying moments like running back and forth through the grasslands for fetch quests or some very obtuse parts. Fortunately, combat was reasonably fun albeit frenetic, and at least the locations were unique and interesting. It's a game that belongs in a museum, but still decent enough to play a piece of history.

57. Kamiko (1h, ★★★★). One of my favorite games. It's similar to the original Zelda in a way, dropped into a top-down environment with no direction given to you. Sure, it's split into different levels, but the same principle remains; you explore, fight off the enemies that constantly respawn, and gradually make progress towards unlocking the 4 shrines and hopefully getting your life and mana powerup along the way. It's so short that it's fun to replay every once in a while. And satisfying each time.

Finished the year with Demons Souls remake on PS5. The original on PS3 was my first Souls game and my least favorite in the series. Still had a good time with it. Might try to squeeze another game in by the end of the year, but that’s probably it for me.

Looking forward to the 2025 challenge, albeit I'm going to go a step further and commit to 52 platinum trophies, at least 40 from the backlog and no more than 12 new titles (current to-do list is under the spoiler tag). There may be a handful of releases where I drop everything and no-life certain games (FFIX Remake, Halo: CE on PS5, etc.), but hard to account for them in this moment.

I began Yakuza Kiwami in mid December. Focussing on the main story + couple of sidestories and it was so addicted to play :) I will revisit the games and doing all the sidestories and more stuff. I felt almost the burnout but the main story keeps me going and I wanted to play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. I cannot wait to play Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii next 🙌

I love Yakuza series, but your pace is incredible.

I'm on 51/52. I've got to beat Red on HeartGold but my levels aren't high enough to do it so I might have to bust out a quick game to finish today or tomorrow to get the 52 lmao.

Wrapped up two games ive been working on for a while to round out the year and made it

Game 51 - Metaphor - PC - I have been playing this off and on since release. Really enjoyed it. Persona 5 and SMT V still reign as my favorite atlas games.

Game 52 - Ys VIII - Steam Deck - My first dip into the Ys word. Really enjoyed my time with it. Fun combat and interesting exploration of the island.

I've really neglected gaming as a hobby for the past 5 or so years, at best playing 4 games / year, and at worst none. But I got back into it this past June, replayed Elden Ring for about 100 hours (didn't finish it, tho) before Shadows of the Erdtree launched. Then I played and finished that, and just went from there.

Like riding a bike, it was nice to be back. I ended up finishing 24 games, mostly played on the Nintendo Switch, since missing out on this console has been, by far, my biggest gaming mistake.

Really looking forward to 2025, hope I can continue playing more games, hope the Switch 2 will be at least as amazing as the Switch, and I hope I'll keep in mind that this is still my favorite hobby.

2017 List-87

Game 1-The Council Episode One The Mad Ones(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 1
-It started slowly as most episodic games do but I'm thought it was pretty interesting. We'll see where it goes. 7/10

Game 2-The Council Episode 2 Hide and Seek(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 1
-The mystery gets deeper. It's pretty good. 7/10

Game 3-Venba(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 1
-After seeing this game come up in many best games of the year lists, I decided to give it a go and am glad I did. It was a moving game about the challenges of being first generation immigrants and seeing your kids assimilate and not want to be part of your traditional culture. The cooking could have been stripped out and I would have been happier. 8/10

Game 4-Fort Solis(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 2
-This game does not get much love but I thought it was worth incredible. Great mystery story, great environment, great graphics, great voice acting and characters. I guess some people don't like walking simulator adventure games. 9/10

Game 5-The Council Episode 3 The Ripples(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 3
-This was a pretty good episode. I have to say I like the historic figures included in this series. 7/10

Game 6-The Council Episode 4 Burning Bridges(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 4
-Well this was a crazy episode. Everything was turned upside down. Let's see what happens in the finale. 7/10

Game 7-The Council Episode 5 The Checkmate(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 4
-I feel this game went off the rails the last two episodes. It was still ok and I really do like these episodic games. 7/10

Game 8-Beyond Eyes(2015)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 6
-I love walking simulators but this was the worst one I've ever played. While the premise is cool, it just isn't well executed. It's just soo sloooow. Slower than most walking simulators. 4/10

Game 9-Bright Memory(2019)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 6
-This was an ok first person shooter action game. It was quite janky so I look forward to Infinite to see if it's improved. 6/10

Game 10-Under the Waves(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 7
-I loved this game. The loved the underwater setting, the story, everything. So, so good. 10/10

Game 11-Exit 8(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 7
-Interesting short game where if you want to escape the loop, you have to spot the anomalies. It's labeled as a horror game but it isn't even close to a horror game. It's ok at best. 5/10

Game 12-Halo Spartan Assault(2014)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 8
-This was a brief, short diversion. I love the Halo universe and music and this one delivers it in a smaller scale. Fun game. 7/10

Game 13-Slay the Princess(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 8
-Interesting game but I have decided that time loop games are not my favorite. I feel like I'm wasting my life. Now this isn't as bad as most because it's a visual novel and every loop was different to a degree but still a lot of repeat story over and over. 7/10

Game 14-Supernormal(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 9
-This was an ok horror game where you just have to wait and find clues throughout the environment as time progresses. Not my type of horror game. 5/10

Game 15-Bright Memory (2021)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 12
-This was ton of fun and much better than the first game. Loved the gun and sword play in this game. So good for a small developer. It was about two hours but for what I paid for it, well worth it. 9/10

Game 16-I Love You Colonel Sanders(2019)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 13
-For a free visual novel promoting KFC, this was pretty good. 6/10

Game 17-Milky Way Prince The Vampire Star(2020)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 15
-This was a visual novel that focused on a toxic relationship and the challenges that brings. Pretty powerful but I felt it dragged on a bit. 7/10

Game 18-Narcosis(2017)-PC via ROG Ally--Beaten on January 18
-After beating Under the Waves, I wanted another underwater game and this was another very good game. It's scarier than Under the Waves which I appreciate. 7/10

Game 19-Deadlight(2012)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 21
-What a great game this was. Great atmosphere for a side scroller. Great gameplay as well. 9/10

Game 20-Redeemer(2017)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on January 23
-This game was a ton of fun. Just run and gun and rip baddies apart. 9/10

Game 21-That Dragon Cancer(2016)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 27
-This was a very emotional game about parents losing their young song to cancer. It makes you what it can be like for families that go through this. 8/10

Game 22-Eternights(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on January 31
-This was a kind of generic version of Persona. It was ok but just generic overall. 6/10

Game 23-Silent Hill The Short Message(2024)-PS5-Beaten in February 3
-I was super excited to find out that there was a free Silent Hill game out as I love all the older games in the series. This game really had nothing to do with Silent Hill from what I could tell. It was also a loop game which I really am not a fan of. It was a ok experience but being free, I really can't complain too much. 7/10

Game 24-Rosas are Red(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on March 19
-This was a two hour adult dating sim visual novel that was fun. Nothing special but enjoyed my two hours with it. 7/10

Game 25-Alone in the Dark Prologue(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on March 20
-This was basically a 15 minute prologue of the new Alone in the Dark that just came out. I wanted to okay this before the full game. This was ok. 6/10

Game 26-The Symbiant(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on March 26
-Halfway to 52! This was a BL romance visual novel that was pretty good. It was the first BL game that I have finished. 8/10

Game 27-The Symbiant Re:Union(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on March 29
-This was ok at best. Not nearly as good as the first game. 6/10

Game 28-Open Roads(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on March 31
-Loved this adventure game. Love the animation and the mystery behind it. 9/10

Game 29-Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk.
(2022)-Switch-Beaten on March 31
-This very short game apparently is about a girl suffering from mental health issues. It made no sense to me. 2/10

Game 30-Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk(2022)-Switch-Beaten on April 1
-This was better than the first game but still a bit nonsensical to me. 5/10

Game 31-Buckshot Roulette(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on April 6
-This cheap game was getting alot of buzz online so decided to give it a shot. I thought it was stupid and not worth the few dollars I paid for it. 2/10

Game 32-Slain Back from Hell(2016)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on May 4
-What an awesome metal rock ride this was. Such a good 2-d action game. Quite hard too. 9/10

Game 33-Valfaris(2019)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on May 9
-Wow! What an awesome game. This is a sequel to Slain Back from Hell and it's just soo good. 10/10

Game 34-Amanda the Adventurer(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on May 12
-This was a very dark little horror game dressed up in a Dora The Explorer cartoon. Very interesting game. I look forward to the sequel. 7/10

Game 35-Indika(2024)-PC via RoG Ally-Beaten on May 20
-This was an interesting game to say the least. It was dark and more of a walking simulator which I love. 8/10

Game 36-Senua's Saga Hellblade 2(2024)-Xbox Series X-Beaten on May 31
-I absolutely loved the original game and this was just as good. What an experience this was. 10/10

Game 37-Synthetic Lover(2022)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on May 31
-This was a decent BL game made by the same group that made The Symbiant ganes. Nothing special. 6/10

Game 38-Ys VIII Lacromosa if Dana(2018)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on June 4
-I finally got around to playing and beating Ys 8. What game this was! Falcom makes the best games. Playing Oath of Felghana next. 10/10

Game 39-Ys Oath in Felgana(2010)-PSP-Beaten on June 7
-I loved this game maybe even more than 8. It was about 12 hours which is perfect for me as it eliminated a lot of the padding that 8 has. 10/10

Game 40-Mediterranean Inferno(2023)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten in June 10
-This was an extremely weird game that wasn't easily to follow. It did get dark at then end though. It also wants you to play through several times which I have no interest in doing. 6//10

Game 41-Ys Origin(2012)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 11
-I am loving these Ys games. They are so much fun. I beat Yunica's story. Apparently I have to play through it two more times using different characters to get the full story. I'm not a fan of games that do this but it's so much fun I can live with it. 9/10

Game 42-Ys Origin(2012)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 13
-I decided to replay the game this time as Hugo. Loved it. Now I will play one more time to get the final story. 9/10

Game 43-Ys Origin(2012)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 13
-Played through Toal's story which completes the game. I've rarely played games through two times let alone three times but still really enjoyed it which says a lot about this game. 9/10

Game 44-Ys VI The Ark of Napishtim(2015)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 16
-I really liked this game as well. It left me confused as far as what to do sometimes but it was still so much fun. 8/10

Game 45-Alone in the Dark(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 24
-I liked the setting and atmosphere of this game but it ran very poorly and just had too many locked doors. It reminded me of old school survival horror games. 7/10

Game 46-Still Wakes the Deep(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on June 26
-What a unique setting and game. Being on an oil rig was something new. Really enjoyed this horror game. 8/10

Game 47-The Legend of Nayuta Boundless Trails(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on July 5
-I loved this game. As a spinoff of the Traiks series, I knew I would play and beat this game and I am so glad I did. It was closer to the Ys games in gameplay which means it was a blast to play. 9/10

Game 48-Clickholding(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on July 23
-This game was getting a lot of buzz online and it was cheap so I bought it. What's waste of time. It's a clicker game. 2/10

Game 49-The Legend of Heroes Trail Through Daybreak(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 9
-I absolutely loved this game just as I have the entire series. Can't wait for the sequel. 10/10

Game 50-The Casting of Frank Stone(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 14
-Well it's that time of year again that I start playing horror games. I have beaten every Supermassive game and I enjoyed this one. It was super janky and pretty short but still good. 6/10

Game 51-Satellite Odyssey Prologue(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 15
-Thus was basically a demo and lasted one hour. It was ok at best. It was horror themed and can see promise of a bigger game in the future. 5/10

Game 52-Crow Country(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 17
-This was a fun horror game that harkened back to the PS1 days. It was fun but the puzzles got a little challenging without a guide. 8/10

Game 53-Killer Frequency(2023)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on September 23
-What a clever horror game. I loved it!
10/10

Game 54-Reveil(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten in September 24
-This was a pretty good horror themed walking simulator. This game also had a lot of puzzles which I wasn't a huge fan of. Many were quite challenging. Great game overall. 7/10

Game 55-Apartment Story(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 29
-This was a short story focused home invasion game with some major The Sims vibe as far as keeping your life stats up. Honestly, it was kind if boring. Lots of waiting for the events to happen. Should have been 30 minutes instead of two hours. 5/10

Game 56-Martha is Dead(2022)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on September 30
-Wow. What an interesting and powerful game. It was janky as heck and just ok for a good chunk of the game but the last two hours or so was really moving and surprising. 7/10

Game 57-Mouthwashing(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on October 2
-This game just came out and it was interesting. It wasn't really a horror game at first but became literally a survival game with horror elements towards the end. It took about three hours to beat. 7/10

Game 58-Paratopic(2018)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on October 2
-What the heck did I just play? After hearing a lot if positive praise for this game, I was excited to play. The game makes absolutely no sense and was a waste of time. 3/10

Game 59-Black Mirror(2017)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on October 5
-This was like a PS2 game on the PS4. This game didn't not get good reviews but I really enjoyed the horror mystery. 7/10

Game 59-Until Dawn(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on October 9
-I loved this horror game back in 2019 and I love it even more now. By far Supermassive's best game. Such great music, characters, graphics and a very good story. The only negative is that it should have a run button. 9/10

Game 60-The Letter(2017)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on October 25
-What a great horror visual novel! Every chapter was good but the last several were excellent. 10/10

Game 61-Silent Hill 2(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten in November 7
-This was an excellent remake of an excellent game. Perhaps the best horror game of all time. The music, the environments. All great. With all that said, I think it was too long. Would have been better under 15 hours. Do we really need that many apartment/hotel locations? No. 9/10

Game 62-Saint Maker(2023)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on November 8
-From the same developer that made The Letter, this was just ok. Not nearly as good as The Letter. It was still a good somewhat soooky story. 6/10

Game 63-Call of Duty Black Ops 6(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on November 10
-What a crazy fun campaign. The videogame equivalent of a summer blockbuster movie. Loved my time with it. 10/10

Game 64-Life is Strange Double Exposure(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten in November 16
-I was excited for this game as I loved all the previous games. This one was also really good. Can't wait for the next one. 9/10

Game 65-A Quiet Place A Road Ahead(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on November 23
-I really thought this was a good game. It was a slowly paced game as you had to move slowly all the time but it was full of dread constantly. 8/10

Game 66-Lego Horizon Adventures(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on November 25
-After playing a lot of horror games the last two months, this was an excellent change of pace. Nothing special just fun! 8/10

Game 67-Two Falls Nishu Takuatshina(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on November 27
-Absolutely loved this game. It was a walking simulator based in Canada in the 1600's. The French were colonizing and were encroaching on the Native Americans there. This is a story about the struggles with that taken from both perspectives. 10/10

Game 68-Choo Choo Charles(2022)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on November 30
-What a refreshing horror game! I have never played a game quite like this. Is it janky? Yes but so different by having me traverse the island with a train while fighting a monster train. So good. 9/10

Game 69-Halo Spartan Strke(2015)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten in December 1
-This was a fun little diversion. Some missions were extremely difficult though. The big issue is you have to get a gold star rating in every level to get the final six missions. Forget that. 6/10

Game 70-Maid of Sker(2020)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on December 8
-Loved this horror game. It reminded me a bit of the Resident Evil 1 where you have to explore a mansion and solve light puzzles. And there are enemies coning after you. Even the safe save rooms are similar. Good game! 8/10

Game 71-Chasing Tails(2021)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on December 10
-This was a brief horror/comedy visual novel that was a nice diversion from other games I am playing now. I really enjoyed my time with it. 7/10

Game 72-Hatoful Boyfriend Holiday Star(2015)-PS Vita-Beaten on December 12
-I found this visual novel to be kind of stupid and a waste of time. 3/10

Game 73-Thank Goodness You're Here(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on December 12
-This game got great reviews and it s supposed to be really funny but I didn't laugh once. Maybe that's because it's British humor? Not really sure. It was ok at best. 6/10

Game 74-MiSide(2024)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on December 14
-What a clever horror game. Loved almost every second of this game. So many great ideas packed in. 9/10

Game 75-Last Signal(2024)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten on December 18
-This was an interesting 30 minute game that is meant to be replayed a few times. It was decent but so short it was really hard to take anything from it. It was only 99 cents though. 5/10

Game 76-Fear the Spotligth(2024)-PC via ROG Ally(2024)-Beaten on December 22
-Loved this old school horror game. Have great horror vibes and loved the old school graphics. 9/10

Game 77-Higurashi When They Cry Hou+(2023)-PC via ROG Ally-Beaten on December 26
-I really enjoyed this episode even though it felt like a series of four side stories and just a bit creepy. Such a good series. Have to play the console versions next. 8/10

Game 78-Call of Dury Warzone Mobile(2024)-iOS-Played throughout 2024
-Played numerous hours of this game over the year. It's not a game your finish but still feel like it should be added. 8/10

Game 79-The Jackbox Party Pack 8(2021-PC-Played throughout 2024
-Played this game a lot with family throughout 2024. Our favorite game by far was Drawful Animate. Good times! 9/10

Game 80-Fear Effect(2000)-PS One-Beaten on December 28
-I loved this game. It has a great cyberpunk horror atmosphere. It also had surprisingly numerous checkpoints which I wasn't expecting. 9/10

Game 81-Voice of Cards The Isle Dragon Roars Demo(2021)-PC via Steam Deck-Beaten in December 30
-I counted this as a game as it's a prologue to the first game. I really enjoyed this. I usually don't like card based games but this is different as it plays similar to an RPG. Quite unique and I look forward to the series. 8/10

Game 82-Indiana Jones and the Great Circle(2024)-Xbox Series X-Beaten on December 31
-What a great game to end the year with. This was such a great game and makes me wonder why this hasn't been done before. Such a great story and the music was sublime. Love the Indy theme song so much. My game of the year. 10/10

Game of the year from 2024: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Best game of the year that I completed: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

PC: 73
PS5:1
Xbox Series X-2
Switch-2
Vita-1
PSP—1
PS1-1
iOS-1

I salute those that achieve this, I don't know how you find the time. It takes me weeks to finish one game 😂
It's a lot easier to reach when playing shorter games, 8-12 hour experiences, especially indies or older games. The minute you start playing back to back open world games or RPGs then you might as well call it that you're not going to reach 52. I did not myself.

All done. I counted no.52 as something I have done routinely throughout the year in each of those 3 and lumped them all into one. Bit of cheating but honestly I did a lot of longer games so I don't really mind it. I also spent ALOT of time with those 3, talking daily updates. Solitaire on train, Wordle daily at work, same with the NYT Crossword game.

No.51 went down to the buzzer to be honest, with an hour to spare. This is not an easy challenge unless your just going for shorter games all the time.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Here's my year in gaming, 2024:

U4EXvVT.png

Some amazing stuff here, I'm really happy with the number of JRPGs I was able to complete this year. See everyone in the 2025 challenge thread!

Early in the year I didn't think I'd hit 52 games. By July I had only finished a handful of games. I was spending more time with other hobbies. In July I started playing older games almost exclusively. I hit 174 games, matching my 2022 list. I tried to squeeze in another NES game at the last minute but "Kid Klown in Night Mayor World" was not the right choice, and I just shut it off :messenger_grinning_sweat:

A lot of NES, SNES, Neo-Geo and arcade games last year as I took a big dive back into the past. I played Chrono Trigger again for the first time since the late '90s mostly because I was thinking it might not live up to my memory of it. I was wrong, what a great game. I finished the first Metroid, a game I've started many times back in the 90s but never played the entire way through. I also ran through Super Metroid again for the first time in almost 20 years. The first StarFox, a game that I played almost exclusively for an entire year after it launched, despite being 15fps I picked it up and played it like it was yesterday, I still remember where just about every enemy spawns. I finally played StarFox 2 and at first didn't get it but gave it another shot and realized what I was missing and went on to really enjoy it. The original Zelda and Zelda II, two games I never actually finished back in the day, both fantastic games that hold up remarkably well. I played several PS2 classics like God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper for the first time. I was so into Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto on my PS2 I never game these games a fair shake back then. I also played a ton of Mega Man.

On the new side, not as much. I really enjoyed Echoes of Wisdom which was a really chill adventure with tons of things to do. Indiana Jones was a huge surprise for me, I expected absolute trash and was met with a game I actually found fun to play. I put the most hours into Forza Motorsport which isn't the best game in the series but is a franchise I've always dumped countless hours into, and the game is improving over time. Horizon and Cyberpunk 2077 were next though Horizon 5 needs a sequel and I've only done 2 main story missions in Cyberpunk despite the hours, I've done just about every side quest in the game first.

Despite the number of games I played this year, my backlog is much larger than it was last year so perhaps I need to put some other hobbies on hold and try to chip away at it some more. There are some pretty good games in there I haven't played.

I'm starting the year off with Castlevania: Symphony of the night. Last time I played this was on my old Playstation. Looking forward to 2025.
