76% of children in the US are planning to ask for game-related gifts this holiday season, with almost half of those surveyed requesting consoles.

Aside from consoles, subscription services came in second at 43% followed by a tie between console games and game accessories at 41%. In-game currency was the least popular game-related item, with 38% of children surveyed expressing interest.

"Parents see video games as more than simply a gift. With 83% of US parents who say they play video games with their children, games serve as a powerful tool for families to connect with one another, especially during the holidays."

They also asked who was interested in PCs but the most common response was 'I don't play games in Publisher'.

Interestingly enough my kids aren’t asking for console gaming related stuff.

My daughter wants a new Mackbook Pro and a drawing tablet, lol. My son does want an actual gaming computer.

Interesting, there's been quite a bit of discussion around here about kids these days not being into consoles.

Don't think I'll ever buy my kids a console. I have one and they can use it when I'm not. Otherwise go do something else. I don't want my kids being shut ins who just sit inside on their PC/Phones/Console/TV.

My parents got me a console but we only had one TV so I barely got to use it most of the time. Which left me with nothing to do but go outside and play with my friends.

I just realized, in gamepass there is no Christmas.

Do gamepass kids ask for gamepass bucks for Christmas?

It seems to me when I was a kid, I would be hyper focused on which games I wanted.

With gamepass, do gamepass kids even know what games are coming out?

When I had gamepass, it made games in general feel valueless, worthless, meaningless. I suspect this also affects Christmas for Xbox kids. What do they buy?

Yeah, well. My kid (turned 18 just some months ago, so already moved out - yes, us Finns like to be individualistic, I did the same when I was young) doesn't get any kind of game, I tell you!

...I did buy her the extra courses for MK8 Deluxe though recently, because of course I did. That game rules. But she'll be getting a tactful Totoro hoodie for Xmas. No games. Nor consoles. Right now I mean, she'll get my PS5 once I get a Pro. She already has my PS4 Pro.

Kids don't want consoles.
They want Fortnite and Roblox and a gaming pc with tons of rgb.

The Entertainment Software Association have an agenda to prop up US domestic sales, retail and trade, they also enforce member IP rights, of course they hate PC gaming, which is more democratized and consumer-friendly.

Why would they ask for a console when every screen is a Xbox?

The phone I made this comment with is a Xbox.

Lucky, lucky fuckers getting consoles for Christmas. I got this:

Could be worse imagine asking for an Xbox Series S and getting and Xbox One X.

Ok... it was already fiction the moment i said "asking for an XBox"
I actually have more respect for the X1X. It was a true native 4k machine and brought in a load of excellent BC enhanced patches. Which even today the Series S cant run. As a kid getting either for Christmas, I'd be well happy.

Nintendo should have price cut the standard non OLED Switch to $199 for this November and December only. They’d make the initial lost money back on games and digital subscriptions.

Zero gaming requests in my house. 3 teenagers. Lightweight hoping one would ask for a PS5 so I could play GTA6 on launch. They just want clothes. :/ The one who actively games the most already has a Series S.

Heck, throw me on the list, I’m a a Toys”R”us kid. These new generations know nothing of that sweet unicorn of a giraffe. I wanted to pet him and hug him and as I got older probably wanted to kick the bitch, like I do in my forties for their high prices through tour the years.

Not sure what game I’m going to ask for this Christmas. Does steam have “Big Trouble in Little China”?

My nephew is getting a slightly used Ps5 since I upgraded to the pro. Also wants robux for block fruits what ever the fuck that is. He actually wanted a pc but kid is 8 so that’s not happening.
