Some sites re already publishing their reviews. Mostly Brazilian sites, so I guess they are in a different time zone :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I'll update this thread, as more reviews are released.

Now I see why they were so quick to withdraw the 7800x3d from sale.

They didn't retire the 7800X3D. That was the 5800X3D.
But it's funny that AMD made the 5800X3D and the 7800X3D so good, that now they are having trouble competing with themselves.

Wow from the reviews it seems like it only competes with other X3D chips in gaming and other 9000 in productivity, AMD seems to have every segment of the market covered with superior CPUs.

Seems like a fantastic CPU but I think I can stretch my 5800X3D a few more years.

Independend reviews looking fire, we got new bis cpu product thats gonna last us, pc crowd till end of next console gen(so likely 2036 and if we count in standard 2 years of crossgen products, even till 2038). :messenger_beaming:

So it's roughly what I expected, pretty solid product and definetly worth getting over 7800x3d (at current prices). So I'll be switching when the prices stabilise.

Wow, these are actually really promising reviews. 11% faster than the 7800X3D on average is a nice leap. Plus the 9800X3D allows for overclocking (where the 7800X3D did not), so we should see some even more substantial gains there.

Good stuff, especially when the 7800X3D was already the fasting gaming CPU on the market.

There is quite a bit of potential for OC. Especially after delliding.

Intel has nothing to compete, their best gaming CPU (14900k) is over 20% slower. Their newest CPU is over 30% slower.

I hope they will figure it out with next generation because AMD will stop being consumer friendly with no competition.

Nice to see it performs well. I'll happily stick with my 5800x3d for a few more years. If you can stomach the price, it's a great choice for people coming from older chips.

Intel could start by having a socket last more than 2 gens.

So seriously, why is AMD doing so well in CPUs and so poorly in GPUs?
Because they put their resources where the money's at. CPU development helps the high margin server market while GPUs are in nowhere land right now. Even AI hardware is diverging from GPUs so they are really an unwanted child right now.

Oh fuck, I thought I heard that rumor but couldn't remember where, Intel just giving love to all the 2XX buyers.

Intel cancelled the Arrow Lake refresh and is now only focused on Panther Lake.
Panther Lake will be a redesign from the ground up. Which is good, because Arrow Lake sucks.

Also, in the last investment call, Intel admitted that they won't use MOP for next CPU generations. And that they are re-evaluating continuing making dedicated GPUs.
MoP is integrated memory on the CPU package, for laptops using Arrow Lake.

Really impressive stuff even compared to 7800X3D. Really want to see how this fares with DLSS and real world settings.
