I heavily doubt that it’s due to hubris, frankly. Alanah has her own community, and a rather large one at that. She probably felt the need to update people that follow her closely of her current status, where her headspace is at, and what her goals are, and have something that will set the record straight for her community in one fell swoop so that any future questions can be cut down significantly. It’s probably as simple as that.

Plus, her stepdad passed away due to cancer; if she wants to update people about her life and have an introspective dialogue, then there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Cancer hits people hard, family members of the person with cancer included; I know firsthand what said feeling of heaviness feels like. Alanah is fine.
