Personally I couldn't play BotW even though I tried twice. I got a few hours in and just couldn't deal with it so I'll be giving it a run out with the Enhanced features.

XCX is still a hard pass unless they release an Enhanced version of that too though.

Kind of a yes and no for me. Metroid Prime 4 and Xenoblade Chronicles X I would like to play on Switch 2 (if the price is reasonable). I don't plan to get a Switch 2 at launch however, maybe wait a year or so because there really isn't enough releasing to be worth the upgrade. But no, I wont be interested in anything else I missed out on.

I bought Tears of the Kingdom, but it ran so poorly I never actually played it. I also have Kirby, but wasn't a fan of the performance either, but it didn't seem too bad. I never got through the whole game so I'll be playing that too. Obviously Metroid Prime 4 for me with be a Switch 2 purchase. Honestly there's quite a few games I'd hope to get the Switch 2 treatment such as Paper Mario TTYD etc.

Switch just got a bit long in the tooth. Bayonetta 3 is a big one for me that I've left too.

Tears of the Kingdom. Garbage performance killed the enjoyment for me. But I won't pay a lot for it. If the upgrade is too much, I'll just go sailing instead.

If they enhance the other Xenoblade titles and Beyonetta 3. I missed out on Beyo 3 due to not having the cash at the time, but the bad performance has me waiting.

I already played most of the games I found unplayable on the Switch on Yuzu, so probably not. But the difference between some games was pretty astronomical. Pokemon Scarlet/Violet for example.

They looked and ran like shit on the Switch. When I played them on Yuzu though, I ended up enjoying them quite a bit. I can definitely see the value in the Switch 2's ability to run enhanced editions of certain titles.

Deadly Premonition Origins is another one I'm interested in seeing how it performs on the Switch 2.

I kinda would like to try the second Hyrule Warriors game with better performance but I don't care enough to pay for it.

Actually, that's probably true for any Switch game with bad performance. Except for Dread but the problem with that one was horrendous load times, not bad framerate and such and I definitively wouldn't pay for decreased load times.

It's sad that this is what Nintendo console launches have turned into. I was giving the Switch a pass since a lot of people didn't play the WiiU games, but this launch is looking weak imo.

I'll definitely give the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Enhanced Editions a look, since I have the expansion pack anyway. I already have over 100 hours in BotW and 70 in TotK though, so it'll mostly just be for the novelty of the improved visuals.

I've been thinking about picking up Mario Party Jamboree for a while, but if I do, I'm not sure I can stomach $80 for the Enhanced Edition. I can't see myself getting enough play out of it to justify that price.

I'm going to pick up Link's Awakening and Echoes if Wisdom once I have the new machine.

Especially after reading about the upgrade to performance of them both.

Yes, I haven't played any of the big Switch games even though I own them. My game playing has been mostly limited to FPS on PS5, side scrollers and retro games. However, I'm willing to play these games and play some single player PS5 games on my PS5 Pro and drops FPS games. I don't have a lot of playing time due to responsibilities. I've been playing FPS because I picked them up two years ago and sucked. Consistent playing allowed for me to become pretty good once again. Now I know it's not because I'm older but lack of practice so I'm good moving on from the genre.

I'm assuming DPO will likely run exactly the same, if not worse, or maybe not at all (if it's not supported).

Thought somebody said for original Switch games it's going to be emulation based backwards compatibility and not hardware related.

Unless there's a Switch 2 native version update.

I have finished most of the switch games I want to and will probably not play the enhanced versions. If I do it would be for a few minutes to check them out.

I'll play that Kirby game, yeah. I wanted to play it on Switch 1, but I just can't do platformers at 30fps. Looking forward to it at 60 though!

I mostly replay games I already played since I don't skip games just because it runs at 30FPS.

I'm definitely gonna get the upgrade for Kirby the Forgotten Land, I love that game on original switch.

Metroid is the obvious one. Wouldn't touch that on the old switch.

A better performing version of the IKEA Zelda game would probably make me play that too.

I already played them but I need 60 FPS Xenoblades and Astral Chain. Yes I already played Xenoblade 3 on PC but it was kind of janky switching back and forth from 30 fps for cutscenes.

Now that it'll be 60fps on Switch 2 I want for sure. And the expansion will be the cherry on top.

I skipped TOTK for performance reasons, so that would be the priority game for me. Strongly hoping Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance gets an uprgade as well; I don't want to have to buy the PC version.

I have a couple of games sitting on the shelf that I would like to play when Switch 2 arrives. For example just recently bought Super Mario RPG and was planning on waiting for the Switch 2 to play it on with a potential solid 60FPS throughout. I'm kind of hoping the Switch 2 can take the original Switch games and allow them to perform similar to an overclocked Switch if no update pack is planned.

Yes, a handful games and that's my reason for buying Switch 2, new games will come anyway so I have no hurry:
  • Link's Awakening
  • Echoes of Wisdom
  • Bayonetta 3
  • Astral Chain (30fps limit puts me down)
There are some games I put down after completing story because of the 30 fps limit, I like smooth motion and can't stand how choppy 30 fps look or IQ (I don't need realistic graphics, Switch games look amazing already to me):
  • Zelda TOTK
  • Xenoblade 3. Haven't even gotten expansion yet hoping that Switch 2 will give it a performance + IQ boost
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land
  • Fire Emblem Three Houses. I played 38h, got bored and didn't finish it, but want to go back with an upgrade patch
  • Xenoblade 2. I mean, I wanted to do 100% but IQ and frame rate are atrocious even for a Switch game, I also need to play Torna but didn't for the same reason
  • Probably will want to replay Xenoblade 1
Those are enough for me to carry me for a while, I don't care about MKW or DKB, Switch 2 already checked my needs and I'm happily getting it day 1 if I can.

Of those I haven't purchased anything except for the second list (except for Xenoblade expansions, I haven't bought them yet) so Nintendo will get some money from me out of already existing games, which is a good incentive for upgrading games.

TOTK for sure. I played it for a bit and liked it a lot but put it down and it didn't run great. It's amazing they got such a technically advanced game running on Switch but just that alone might be a system seller.

I don't think that games automatically get enhancements, most of the ones you mentioned don't have any enhancements listed yet.

From the list without upgrade confirmed: Astral Chain, Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade 2 and 3, FE:TH.

I won't play everything right away so I'll just play the ones upgraded I currently have and get the others later or wait for the upgrade of those not getting it yet. I also have a lot to play on PC and other hobbies so I'm in no rush with these things anyway.

Bought so many Switch exclusives I never finished, lots because they didn't look good and/or performed poorly.

I'll definitely revisit those games and probably even pick up any games I skipped because of those issues.

Its not really "enhanced editions" I finished the game long time ago but very excited play again on Switch 2.

I hoping to see more 3DS games like Kid Icarus Uprising and even SMT IV come to Switch 2.

I intentionally passed on some Switch games because I knew the performance wasn't good enough on that hardware hoping that they'd run better on next gen, mostly co-op experiences. If any of those get free upgrades, I'll definitely go back and pick those up.

Beyond that, I'll give the Zeldas another go.

Same here, it was a fun game but the graphics really dragged it down. On TV the jaggies and shimmering is really gross, I couldn't appreciate the nice artwork.
I'm hoping for 60fps.
They said higher framerate so the jury is still out on what they meant, hopefully not some 40fps crap I can't use on my non-vrr TV. 60fps locked would be transformative.

Yeah, I skipped out on Kirby and the Forgotten Land so I'll pick up the Switch 2 Edition with the new DLC.

I'll also be subscribing to NSO to get the GameCube games, so I'll check out BotW/TotK as well since they're included in the subscription. But I don't see myself playing them from start to finish again. I'm burned out on that version of Hyrule.

Yikes, I just kind of assumed it will be 60 fps. Let's hope!
I think it's safe to assume 4K60, Digital Foundry did a check on most of the big games:
  • Elden Ring runs at 1080p ~30fps, with frame pacing issues attributed to video capture rather than the game itself.
  • Duskbloods is 1080p 30fps, with proper frame pacing.
  • Donkey Kong Bananza runs at 1080p 60fps, with some minor drops.
  • Mario Kart World reaches 1440p 60fps.
  • BoTW and ToTK Switch 2 editions run at 1440p 60fps.
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is native 1080p 30fps, with some frame pacing issues.
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 runs at 4K 60fps.
I guess there could be drops below 60 at times, but it seems like that's what Nintendo is aiming for at least.
