Is this a drm dongle, or what?
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Deluxe
Zelda BotW Deluxe
And Zelda TotK Deluxe on the way. Unfortunately.
This is Nintendo we're talking about here. You will pay full price and you will say "thank you" and you will like it.Probably a $10 upgrade fee like Sony does for some games.
Nvm misread your postSame as how it works on PS5 right? If you buy the PS5 version of a game you can't go back and play that on PS4, but vice versa is fine.
With this new sharing system and this Switch 2 Edition shenanigans you have to wonder if they will attempt to bleed money out of their customer base by making you buy at full price, or are they going to let you transfer the game over and pay a small update fee. Or have free updates for some games? If they go the bleed the consumer/anti consumer route I may set up a Switch 2 just for my son and may not get one for myself, and if I do get one eventually just buy the occasional exclusive physical game for the Switch 2. Hopefully Switch 2 doesn't shit the bed during this transition between Switch 1 and 2.The dream was that games like that (and the 60fps mode in Thousand Year Door that's in the code but also not available) would just magically have better framerates when played on the better hardware.
But if they're doing "Switch 2 Editions" of Switch 1 games and selling them for full price, there's no way in hell they're going to provide "free" boosts for existing games.
Pretty much how I see it tooSame as how it works on PS5 right? If you buy the PS5 version of a game you can't go back and play that on PS4, but vice versa is fine.
Not like Sony selling a $200 off-screen play system that doesn't play apps, or a $500 VR accessory with no real games. Thank you Sony. This is Nintendo we're talking about here. You will pay full price and you will say "thank you" and you will like it.

This gimmick allows them to update games without renaming the title, instead adding a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" badge to the icon...
So no need for the awkwardness of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate For Real This Time
In your dreams…$30!Probably a $10 upgrade fee like Sony does for some games.
Nintendo? Passing up on a guaranteed 10 million $70 sales?
Upgrade path for no more than 10 bucks or gtfo (and that's only if its a significant upgrade). No chance in hell I would pay full price for previous gen games.
Just people getting excited that Nintendo is basically confirming crossgen games, i.e. Switch 1 and (enhanced) Switch 2 editions of the same gamePlaystation 5 version of games cant be played on Playstation 4… Whats the news here? I am missing something?
There really needs to be some kind of upscaler and FPS unlock for backwards compatible games. They would shift units quicker by advertising you can play all your old games in 4K.Idc how they do it but give me Zelda totk 60fps and Xeno games 60fps.
Sold.
They REALLY need to push DLSS. Call it something with a quirky Nintendo like name and push the idea that it's "new" tech that seamlessly makes all of your older games look and run much Much better....basically their version of Xbox's "Boost Mode" or "Smart Delivery"....if they were smart enough to actually include this feature for Switch 2There really needs to be some kind of upscaler and FPS unlock for backwards compatible games. Not quite the same. That's hardware. A better comparison would be Sony charging $10 for PS5 version of some games if you already own the PS4 version. Thank you Sony. Not like Sony selling a $200 off-screen play system that doesn't play apps, or a $500 VR accessory with no real games. Thank you Sony.
I was speaking to your notion that Nintendo is the greediest, when Sony is the worst offender by far in that regard. In the end they're all greedy tho.Not quite the same. That's hardware. In all seriousness though, Nintendo doesn't really do discounts. Mario Odyssey is still full price on their store.
Sure they will. I think people don't trust digital purchases from Nintendo and Sony because of stuff like this. How many PS systems has The Last of Us? At least MS has good bc on their Series systems, but I don't know how long that generosity will last.Oh, so they're gonna release all their WiiU games again. Got it.
If they don’t offer an upgrade plan for their first-party games, I’m not spending a dime
I sure hope so, especially Bayonetta 3 needs a Switch 2 upgrade. I don't care if it's the same (graphically), as long if it's 60 fps and above 1440p or higher....1. All Switch 1 games will be playable on Switch 2
2. There will be exclusive Switch 2 games only playable on the Switch 2
3. There likely will be remastered Switch 1 games that will be enhanced to use the Switch 2 capabilities better. Maybe a $10 upgrade and/or a new Switch 2 edition
Especially if priced right.Idc how they do it but give me Zelda totk 60fps and Xeno games 60fps.

I can't do it anymore. Not buying a single 1.Sounds like we're getting Switch 1 remasters on Switch 2, in the form of "Nintendo Swich 2 Edition" games.
With the prices of the games, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the upgrade cost 20 or 30$.Probably a $10 upgrade fee like Sony does for some games.
