For me the answer is yes, day one.

We need more details about hardware specs and games of course, but so far, the reveal was exactly what I hoped it would be. Not reinventing the wheel, larger screen, better Joycons, bumped up hardware, full backwards compatibility, and a common-sense naming scheme (Switch 2).

Seems like Nintendo has learned their lesson after the Wii U.

I want to but I just can’t justify it over the obscene amount of backlog that I have.

No, I'll wait for the emulator two months later.

I'm joking obviously eh I don't know to be honest. Depends on launch titles and pricing. I might just wait and see what happends

Unless it's ridiculously expensive or has serious flaws, I will get one just to replace my old Switch. It will (eventually) get new games I care about and I'll be able to keep playing my backlog.

No at this point in my life I barely have time for one system and the kind of games/experiences I prefer (state of the art AAA) clearly won't be on this system.
My experience with the Switch that I bought at launch was also not really positive, super disappointing hardware, bought for Mario and Zelda...and Zelda's new open world formula with breakable weapons and stamina disappointed me as well.
So at 90% I'm not buying this unless Nintendo brings some generation defining games like Ocarina.

Yes I will be getting one on launch I’m hoping that since the direct isn’t in April the release is in summer or September. I hope they don’t do a holiday launch. I bought the original switch at launch.

No. I haven't really been a Nintendo fan since the Gamecube. Even then, I was really just a fan of Zelda and Metroid Prime.

I had a Wii for a year or so but quickly got bored of it after finishing Metroid Prime 3. I had no interest in Skyward waggle.

Skipped the Wii U.

I bought a Switch during the pandemic mainly thinking my kids would enjoy it, but they didn't. I tried playing Breath of the Wild in mobile mode in bed, but the ergonomics of that machine were awful for my hands. I would get cramps and aches within 10 minutes of trying to play. I also didn't like the game. The Switch mostly sat collecting dust for us until I sold it a year or so later.

Hence, no real interest in the Switch 2. I have a Steam Deck now for gaming while away from home.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Haven't bought a Nintendo system in forever, don't really see it changing outside of some extraordinary circumstances.

Depends. Did I miss the pre-order or has that not happened yet?(I just got up.)

Just a reveal trailer and the promise of a dedicated Direct in April, nothing else.

Nah, haven't bought Nintendo hardware since Gamecube. But y'all should buy two at release and put one the shelf so you can jailbreak it later, for "homebrew".

Grew up with Nintendo, gifted my Switch to my girlfriend's nephew as I wasn't really playing it. Still have my games and everything as he just wanted it for Fortnite.

Perfect situation to replace it with a Switch 2! So, likely day 1, or at least will attempt to day 1. Haven't done that in so long either, it'd be fun.
