didn't see that thread but I was wondering if people who own a switch are getting a switch 2.

I believe it will sell well generally, which is what I think that thread is getting at.
Search function still works on here surprisingly.

Anyway, I haven't seen anything to warrant buying one. My original switch is just collecting dust. The only games I played seriously on it were Astral Chain and Bravely Default II.

I would seriously consider it if it were OLED.

No reason to get this on day 1 for me, I don't think. Won't everything for the first 2 years be on Switch as well?

If there's a great Mario game that looks like it really benefits from Switch 2, that would be a reason for me to buy. Don't think there's any chance we're seeing a game like that at launch.

If there is är least one game that I really want or noticeable improvements for BC games, absolutely.

So if it releases with Mario Kart, 100%. That is, if I can pre-order from a retailer - I would never ever pay a scalper no matter what.

Absolutely, and for now current Switch games running better are enough imo, there are some games I haven't played waiting for a 60 fps patch on a more powerful console, for others I'm ok with stable 60 fps like Bayonetta 3 and chibi Zelda games.

of course

I'm sure the april presentation will be more impressive than the january one nintendo was forced to do because of all the constant leaks getting out, but I'd be getting it regardless

it's nintendo. The nintendo games will be on the nintendo system

Day 1 if the scalpers let me.
I don’t understand those who’re skipping it. As long as their games are exclusive to their platforms I’ll keep buying every single one of them.

Yes, as long as I can find one. Can’t wait!

I’m still on my launch day Switch so I’m well overdue for an upgrade. It just sucks that they’re not going OLED with this one..

It plays all of my Switch 1 games (please, gourd, taking advantage of the upgraded hardware). It will get Nintendo's next generation of games. It's not going to go down in price any time soon.

I could wait for more info, but unless there is drastically bad news, I'm in.

Mot likely. Nintendo consoles have been relatively easy the pick up on launch day around here, so that should not be a problem.
So yeah, I'll probably pick one up, especially if it has a killer app released alongside it.

Never ever buy a console at launch.

Brought to you by people who also likes:
- Is switch 2 the messiahs?
- Did switch 2 dooooom Nintendo?
- Is Dooooom coming for switch 2?
- Do you know what the 2 in switch 2 stands for?
- My uncle works for sega and says switch 2 is a dumb name

Seriously, those threads are getting out of hand lately

i am not sure about others but for me i always believe in the launch production batch
After the 3DS , i do not have the $ and mental to wait for revision systems

in short , i skipped the switch lite , switch with better battery and OLED switch
my switch from 2017 launch batch is still working , definitely launch day production batch of Switch 2 for me

P.S
hoping Twilight Princess HD / Wind Waker HD for switch/switch 2 on launch day

Maybe. Not gonna chase it down like I did the PS5. Nintendo needs to give me a reason though. If it’s just a reskin then it’s an easy: no.

I’ll be keeping my Switch and getting a Switch 2 on launch day. Haven’t been this excited for a console since the Switch! It’s ONLY about the games, and I trust Nintendo to deliver. They’ve never let me down.

I never get console on Day 1. For the moment, no games is announced so I have 0 interest.
It would need a crazy good game, that I really want, exclusive to it for me buying a console on Day 1.

So there is little chance for me to buy Switch 2 day 1.

Most likely? It really depends on the games. I'll get it when there's a Mario or Pokemon or Luigis Mansion or whatever else might come along that I really want. Mario Kart 9 probably wouldn't do it for me. I'd need something more. My kids on the other hand...

I hope I can get a preorder. Not looking forward to stalking sites for drops.
Gamestop used to be my go-to preorder spot, because they'd always save a decent number of preorders for in person sales. It's easy for a scalper to run a script grabbing up all the digital preorders, but going physically to every store is too much of a hassle. With GS closing a bunch of stores in the US though, I'll be SOL.

I'm hoping Nintendo allocates some of the stock (not a ton, just some) for direct sale through NSO: limit 1 per paid account; first subscribed, first served; and maybe limit it to 1 or 2 per family sub until the stock situation gets better. They did something like it with Labo, so it *could* happen, even if it probably won't. Might piss off big retailers though.

I need to know on any switch 1 boosts. If Zelda totk is now 60fps on switch 2 then I’ll save up to get one.

If they have a Zelda ocarina of time remake at launch then I’ll try to get it day one.

If it has neither things I’ll wait till I have free cash and something I give a crap about on it.

Games sell hardware.

Yes, absolutely. But I'm not sure whether I'll get it day one or later down the line. I suppose it depends on the price, whether or not it'll have a significant boost mode (day one if that's the case), and of course the games it releases with.

It goes both ways. You could also specifically wait so you can get a better one later, it just depends.

2017 Switch is my favorite design anyway. But I got screwed buying a 3DS early. Now I wish I had a New 3DS XL instead.

If you are into gaming, then why wouldn't you buy it?
(Of course I am not oblivious to practical reasons one might not, but if you can afford it, and like to play games, then why would you rob yourself of it?)

Because it's not a portable PS5, and/or you hate Nintendo games... ALL of them, despite their variety of genres and visual styles.

But Nintendo games are different enough from the others where I think it is still worthwhile. For me, Zelda has been the main reason but Mario games are fun too.

Yes. And I hope it’s backwards compatable with switch 1 because I missed out. Plus I all the retro stuff. That I can’t get on Xbox or PC without emulation.

I'm sure I'll pick one up eventually. Only way I'll pick it up day one is if it has system level achievement system, or launches with a new Zelda or Pokemon title that's exclusive to it.
