Timing of it's release will matter. If I can get it in launch window, I will. If not, I'll definitely get it during the first year. It all depends on the intensity of scalping activity

Need to see games announced in April before I make a decision.
It’s so far away still.. Ugh.

The timeline of this is the most disappointing thing of the reveal.

I'm out. I own a switch and I've only played 2 games in it. Switch 2 looks like more of the same.
And owning 2 consoles is too expensive for me.

If there are a lot of great games at launch I might pick it up then, but my instinct is to wait and see if any flaws (such as stick drift on the Switch) come to light in the first six months and go from there.

Probably at some point, would like to play the new Metroid Prime and I have a feeling the gf will want one for whatever games she’s into.

Almost certainly not at launch though.

Nah, I don't have much interest in mobile gaming or first party Nintendo properties.

I bought a Switch OLED, played some Odyssey, Tetris, and 13 Sentinels, and then it gathered dust until I picked it up to play Metroid Prime and found that the input was completely busted. The left stick was giving a continuous full-left input, making it impossible to even navigate the Switch UI, let alone play a game. I don't know if it was a software issue, the most extreme stick drift I've ever seen, or what, but I never got it working again.

Yes, so I can finally play Metroid Dread which I have owned for a couple of years. Though I might wait for a half a year to see if people are having any issues.

N games don't appeal to me. Might get a Steam Deck one day, but my Desktop PC is really all I need.

Yeah, my decision to stall until Odyssey dropped meant I got a less bad Pro controller. But if I didn't already have WiiU, their leverage on me with BOTW would be astronomical.

It's easy for me to say I will be smart and patient before they show games. BOTW 3 and Odyssey 2 probably wouldn't do it this time, but my fear is...they are aware of that and are preparing to enslave us all day one.

Handhelds are terrible to play long with. I think steamdeck might be better. But never actually held one.
There are not many Nintendo games that interest me.
Right now i think the ps portal is the best approach, since i don't need actual mobility, but a wii-u would be fine sometimes. But that thing can be substituted by any tablet and a regular controller, so no need for that either.

Yes, but it depends on the software. This past gen I realized that Mario doesn't move the needle for me anymore like it used to. As in I'll play the games but I'm not getting a system just because the new 3D Mario is out. I'm more inclined to buy it ASAP if something equivalent to BOTW came out, or if Metroid 4 lands with a bang. But I really do feel like I have so many games now between Steam and PS5 ,that I'm going to have to be knocked off my feet with some 'can't miss' from Nintendo to grab a Switch 2 this year.

I would need to see a reason to. Haven't seen that yet. A joycon that turns into a mouse isn't enough of a differentiation for me to want one. I need to see the new games or improvements to games I play.

No, I owned a switch, and while it was a cool device I just couldn't get over the fact that their games barely ever go on sale and when they do it's laughable. I'm saying this as someone who owns all major consoles, the Switch ended up getting used less and less, especially once I played through the "big" exclusives. Now I have an Ally for mobile play (which also emulates switch games too), and still a huge backlog to get through on my PC. I'm more curious about the price of the Switch 2 than anything.

Yes, at launch, and highly likely that my Daughter and wife will want one at launch as well. Showed both of them the Teaser and they were quite interested.

No.

It is giving off 3DS vibes - which I never owned - and I'm done tolerating Mario Kart Bikes and 200cc, and subpar and incomplete MK with DLC.

I haven't enjoyed a MK since the Cube and DS versions, and what they showed looks like the same MK Wii/7 foundation of Deluxe, and I haven't enjoyed a new Mario game since Super Mario 3D world, and multiplayer being trapped behind a sub service was the nail in the coffin for Splatoon play, and despite playing the last two open world Zelda games to completion, they aren't really Zelda games and the enjoyment was shallow like an AC game.

I still have my launch Switch and WiiU, so I feel I'm probably covered.

No.

And because Nintendo doesnt make the kinda games I give a shit about, plus their games are ugly as fuck due to weak hardware.

Id be interested in a traditional console from them, but they have no interest in that.

I dont want to play games on a 8 inch screen.

I usually don’t jump into a new console generation until there are 5 must play games on it that I can’t play anywhere else. So until the launch lineup is revealed and reviews are out, who knows.

Maybe at some point, depends on the games. The last Nintendo console I had was the Wii and I liked it mostly for the more casual games. Looking at exclusive games for Switch, there isn't much that interests me, so I'm not sure.

Probably going to get the Zelda game assuming it’s new and not a remake, Mario games are really good, but it could be years for that Zelda to come out.

Day one. We have 4 switches in my house. My family is foaming at the mouth for the new system.
My kids question immediately on reveal was if there would be a Switch 2 lite.

Maybe....I haven't had a Nintendo console since Gamecube. Really depends on the games and price. Only use Pc currently after selling PS5. Will wait for the full reveal.

If MK9 and the new Mario are switch and switch 2 titles, NOPE. Pipe dream i know, but we've only recently seen MS and Sony stop releasing games for previous gen.

I am going with “MAYBE”.

Even though the commercial for the reveal was not good, it does make me hopeful for the software.

Mario KArt looked underwhelming, but if it is cross platform or is like Forza Horizon with big open vistas to race in, that might be fun.

IF Nintendo can secure EA College Football, a proper Goldeneye, MP4, MK9 and BOTW Deluxe edition, all built for Switch 2. I am there DAY 1!!!
