Yea I don't think he's relying on money for a living but just seeing bigger numbers is probably the end goal here.

He says Grummz is probably a character but I also wonder if Jaffe is not one himself. The stuck in Metroid one is peak baiting. Who in the hell made his way into game design without knowing how Metroid works, among many other things. He's pulling out SBI Kim Belair videos and agreeing with her, he's fully in Southern Midnight, protects Veilguard, etc. What a fucking twist.

He's toying with algos I'm sure.

I'm sure he'd like he's content widespread and having a larger audience will obviously please him. But I just don't see it the way you're framing it. If it was the case that he was toying with the algo, he'd be far more consistent with it.

A lot of game developers are bad at games, you don't have to be good at them to be able to design them.

Not relying on the money and putting so much time and effort into it makes me think he is genuine, for better or worse.

The Metroid thing is laughable as the game is designed to lead you by the nose and never leaves you lost or stuck which is why I didn't care for it very much as that's counter to what Metroid is...at least in my estimation.



It reminds me of that GDC panel where the Studio Santa Monica designer was talking about the God of War reboot and how they designed levels to teach player how to progress and they featured a clip of DSP (a notoriously terrible Let's Player). Seems we've come full circle.

He's terrible at the algorithm but maybe he's raking it in from patreon, subs and tips.

What a load. lol. One of my nieces will be graduating university next year. When she lands a job she'll be more respected and making more money than a GoW director. lol

He is the one that said she was young and attractive, can you point out he is older and ugly? People tend to go for personal attacks when they don't have much merit to their argument.

My guess is that they are turning his own argument against him since he made a big deal about Vara Dark's looks and gender.

His age and gender is germane to the discussion. He made it about gender by attacking her because she's a woman. His age is relevant because he's old enough to bring a mature take to the conversation instead of throwing out puerile jabs at her intelligence.

Still, I understand his stance. His child came out as trans—a situation more common in liberal and creative circles, gee I wonder why—and as a father, he’s doing what any good parent would: standing by his kid, no matter what. But in trying to balance his personal values with the extremes of his proclaimed ideology, he’s left stranded, isolated by his contradictions.

Correct about Vara? I already told you the unique thing about her channel is not that she is a woman but that she scoops on the outrage stuff usually hours before asmon and the rest.

Truth is Jaffe sees that we control the zeitgeist and Vara is one of the ways and he's not gonna be taking that back with a bullshit left wing gaming channel and his crazy logic, he's just gonna get embarrassed. He's mad because of "what we're doing to gaming" and anything else he says is just to try to hide that fact. He's literally the meme of the crying face behind the smiling one. They only like women and minorities when they share their views. If they don't they need to be "educated". Seems to be a common theme on that side of the isle.
