What facts? He has no idea how steam numbers work. 136k on steam doesn't mean one hundred and thirty six thousand are playing, it means 1.3 million ppl are playing apex...if apex has around 10 million daily, do you really think PC only being f2p is gonna have 136k literal players? Lmao. 100 million registered users, fact is, 10% of that plays daily...bf 2042 has 240k right now playing on steam, not 24k. So yes, cold facts mean shit when u don't understand how numbers work.Cold facts.
So ALL of the gamer reviews are UNBIASED?
plot twist: most people complaining haven't paid money for this game or even played the game.
example:
as a result of more and more people like this, this whole matter becomes a game of broken telephone with issues being exaggerated or completely fabricated by people who haven't played the game.
just in the first page of this thread alone someone said the Santa skin was paid DLC and no one corrected him. another guy said there's no destruction in the game when all you need to do is tap a wall with a hovercraft to tear it down.
the game has a lot of issues, and that validates people's frustration with the game, but shit like this is why people feel like the game is also being review bombed. some of this criticism is straight up bullshit by people who haven't played the game lol.
"Probably"Much less than journalists.
But when we have thousands of consumers saying the same thing, it's probably right.

Same boat truely sad times, personally i think they peaked at 4 went downhill ever since, wasnt really a fan of 3 either, ive only played beta of 2042 and it was enough for me to miss this gameAs a huge Battlefield fan since BF2, this just feels like chinese version of wannabe battlefield game that tries to be like warzone/apex legends. Its so sad and disappointing to see BF always trying to be like other games instead of sticking what they do best.
I guess most of quality DICE devs left after BF1 and this team doesn't have knowledge and ideas what to do with Battlefield
0/10 ratings aren't valid...Yes, because you must be right. And everyone else is wrong.
0/10 ratings aren't valid...
LMAO...youre biased af...0/10 is much closer to the rating this game deserves, than the 10/10 that some journalist gave the game.
And shut up about TLOU II. That won't work to deflect the fact that BF 2042 is a mediocre game.
Does the game deserve a 0/10 for that…?A shooter game that is supposed to be all about working together to do objectives has issues with voice chat, commander and squading up is a-ok?
Even when I played COD on Xbox 360 partying up and voice chat were all standard.
You've been moving goalposts this entire thread and nowhere is that more evident than in this reply right here.Does this article have an official source that steam is the primary user base for Battlefield? Also does Steam track console players for cross play?
point is, article is stupid and shouldn't have been published - it's clickbait with no valid claims.
Does anyone track metrics for this to actually compare to what is actually “bad” and what is normal?
I was actually about to ask this. The article makes the obvious point that games that launch high crash harder because of course they do. The question I have is, is this just the normal trajectory of a game finding its equilibrium. People were going ape over FH5's numbers however that game is gone from a peak of 80K to daily maximums of around 20K within a little over half a month and we're not hand wringing over that.
It's not even in the top 10 xbl games alreadyYou've been moving goalposts this entire thread and nowhere is that more evident than in this reply right here.
Now, if you took the time to actually read the article instead of blinding defending the reputation of the multi-billion dollar game company, you'd notice that nowhere in the article did it say that Steam was the primary userbase for the game. They also did not say that any platform was the primary place where people are playing. In fact, they flatly say that because the game does not report player counts anywhere, it's impossible to know if it's dying just as hard on non-Steam platforms.
Yet here you are making bold claims without anything to back them up. The fact is the game is dying on Steam and at a very rapid pace. That is true and that was the singular focus of the article. Nothing more, nothing less.
There is such a weird defense force for this game and these companies here that I just cannot understand.
Damn, it's below Ark.It's not even in the top 10 xbl games already
I'm struggling to decide on whether they are paid by EA to defend this dumpster fire or if their parents would only buy them one game this holiday season and they chose 2042.
Damn, it's below Ark.
None of my friends are playing 2042 anymore. I see more people playing older BF games than 2042. Hell, I'll be playing BF1/4 along with WWIII this weekend.
In the UK, it never even made it into the top 10.Damn, it's below Ark.

Most don’t use origin my guyagain Steam DB is not a good metrics when most use Origin, I have no trouble finding games - tons of people play. Level 25 is still decent play time, it's been out what? 2 weeks?
who plays so much that they get to lvl 15 in 2 days, stupid article
Good lord. It's sinking like a stone. It's not even in the top 10 xbl games already

Oof. That's just embarrassing. In the UK, it never even made it into the top 10.
my guy, look at my response later - i have pretty good evidence that they do with apex. Most don’t use origin my guy

A while back, I enjoyed Ark and all on PC, but it's also a four-year-old game now. A newly released entry in a very popular franchise from a AAA-dev should be crushing that game, especially mere weeks after its release.

Yeah I wondered where COD was and searched most played on Xbox then this list pops upI need you to factor Call Of Duty isn't on that list....
I don't really know how much this really impacts BF or most games tbh cause using this logic, Call Of Duty is sinking like a stone..... I think this just fluctuates lol I don't know how much one can really read into this when you actually consider Call Of Duty isn't on this list.

What's up with those two clowns arguing with people about this game not being a complete mess and bleeding people left and right?
All my friends already gave up on this game and have returned to BF5.

He is pretty much impossible to talk.
As an old BF player myself, is heartbreaking watch BF became CoD+Fortnine.
Same, before the initial reveal..i didn't have faith in Dice given how people how gone through the company within the last 5 years. Then the trailer did what it was suppose to do...give me hope.
I am so angry for falling for their lie. Should have known better.
Again, yes all BF games have had issues at launch. Given the mess the marketing was for BF5...i really thought Dice learned from their mistakes. But seeing this all clearly shows they didn't. Really wish I could get my money back...
Nothing wrong with someone liking this game. Dont get me wrong...i have had some fun in it. But my issue really stems from what was were shown versus what we are getting. I then look at the other titles and see the gaps in things missing. Maybe I was overhyped which set high expectations that couldn't be met...but idk. I was pretty hyped for WWIII's beta release and while they have had issues as well, I am really enjoying it and nowhere near as frustrated as I am with 2042.I know this goes against the grain and I have said it before but I love this game. really is BF to me and I have played since BF1942.
I've enjoyed it enough to continue to play it, especially since the server issues were fixed. It DOES encapsulate those Battlefield feeling moments for sure. But, I do think there are things that could certainly be better from a design perspective. Like I've mentioned before, the whole "specialist" thing put a bad taste in my mouth. I've warmed up to it, but I still don't like the idea of "unique personalities" with "unique abilities" in a Battlefield game. It seems wildly out of place to me. The UI is also pretty gross as well.I know this goes against the grain and I have said it before but I love this game. really is BF to me and I have played since BF1942.
Nah, I agree with some of that but the rest is nit picky. It's probably the worst BF launch in about 10 years and each game has had its launch issues.
Problem is, all the previous games at least launched with a solid foundation, this game has fundamental design issues that for whatever reason they thought was ok.
Terrible maps, no classes, no social/group options, FUNDAMENTAL UI issues that I can't even fathom passed ANY form of QA, less content than even some of the lesser content filled BF games. Environmental destruction is LAUGHABLY bad.
It's a failure. Just simple as that. It failed. It deserves it's criticism and I look forward to seeing the state of the game a year from now for $20. I hope it improves greatly as the franchise deserves more than this.
