Some people are about to have some heart attacks over this lol

This is super interesting, seeing these amounts compared. Also makes sense now why EA aren't exactly wanting to push a new Bad Company out the door any time soon considering they've done so poorly compared to the mainline series. Pretty much confirms that all of these calls for a new entry are from a very vocal minority.

What's also confirmed here is that marketing still manages to win people over and that audiences still haven't learned a thing. I mean most of us saw right through the bullshots and pre-rendered trailers and knew that the game would never look anything like that nor would it play as such. Evidently a lot of folks still fell for the hype and ended up with... this.

On the flipside Guardians of the Galaxy (which I'm currently playing) had an awful marketing campaign leading up to release but ended up as an absolutely fantastic game, arguably GOTY material.

Maybe one day we'll learn and stop rewarding these scummy business practices and outright broken products.

I wonder what the rationale was behind lack of scoreboard. Guess it was to make everybody feel "welcome" and not offend noobs - bad decision though, it was fun in previous titles to go up the scoreboard and reach for the Top 5 in a team. Now I wouldn't even know if I'm doing good in a match.

Who knows why they did half of the things they did. Most of it pure shit.

Alright it's actually on sale in Canada right now for $49.99 at The Source for PS5 and Series X. Amazon.ca will probably follow.

The Source, Series S|X

Also Xbox has it on sale for current gen for $62.99, not such a great deal, but if you "move to AB" then you might save a few bucks, also there are a ton of ways to get MS Rewards points to get free money towards it on there.

Should hit rank 70 tonight. Need to give the AA tank some more playtime as it's my least used vehicle outside of the jets.

Just checked and my playtime is almost at 70 hours too.

What the FUCKKKKKK

That's what, two weeks after launch?

I paid 80 euros for this shit, goddamnit.
Bro, discounts have been FAST for many games this year. I don’t recall seeing so many full price games getting 30% discounts within a few weeks of launch so often

but yeah, I sympathize. For this game especially, paying early would have stung

I stand corrected. The Soflam is again my favourite toy. I get so much more spots and assists with this thing compared to the prox grenade. I love it.

I agree with most of what you said, but it really depends on the "we". Many might really feel this is enough to not support the publisher, but I'd say they should have not supported them for a while as they've had worse launches like Anthem, BF4 etc. So I think those that don't want to buy such concepts have been doing that and those that don't care have been supporting what they like, even with knowing its not in the best shape. I would have missed out on BF3, BF4, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Fallout 4 and so much more if I just ignored em based on a moral thing of feeling I'm rewarding bugs or glitches etc. I don't disagree with what you mean, just that I can't argue that gamers should ignore what they love, so its a tricky one. I agree publishers need to be held accountable, but i think thats easier said then done.

In terms of other consumers like myself that still see BF as a day 1, not much else exist like BF and I feel some of the hyperbolic comments can work against this. It might embolden that fanbase to buy it regardless, the lying about features can cause them to just believe they are um "haters" and it hurts even getting solid criticism out. I've said this for years, citing Call Of Duty or Assassins Creed as this rage, WORST EVRZ might get to the point of that fanbase simply seeing it as a minority rage cult type view and they start to just ignore that base, its why I wasn't really shocked when Battlefront 1 broke all those records. I just don't know that hte majority really listens to this stuff the way some of those Youtubers think.

Guardians has done really well with little marketing and likely will sell pretty good during the Holiday based on word of mouth. Some times it be that way lol

Some times screaming DON'T BUY, WORST EVER can have folks not take the comments seriously, some times saying BUY BUY BUY can have people feel they are just hyping up a flop and some times gamers just buy what they want even with negative marketing, even with little marketing.

In terms of Bad Company, who knows if we'll ever see a 3rd game. Maybe EA is looking at that Portal data and they want too see what is played more. EA is one of those publishers that changes things often and nothing is really a 100%, for all we know Bad Company 3 might be up there to be greenlite, but it might depend on that engagement on Portal. I love Bad Company 2 as much as the next one, but I feel more tell you how great it is, then actually bought it so I get why EA would be hesitant on a 3rd one.

Blessed Dice making sure underprivileged people can afford the game for Christmas!

BF5 was like $30 USD 1 1/2 weeks after release. I know, cause that is when I bought it lol

First off the lolz, they are doing it to give back lol

Second off...I agree with The Man on this one, sales have been coming all year for a shit load of titles but the usual suspects are here anyway, Sony, Ubisoft, EA etc. They generally put those titles on sale after release, but its hard to build a narrative on this pass or fail thing as we've seen Ubisoft put Watchdogs 3 on sale after and was like "FLOOOPZZZ" and then they put AC Valhalla on sale and......what are we to say to that? It broke a lot of records lol Red Dead Redemption 2 went on sale after release and it moved massive units, so going on sale is hard to really put on a pass or fail thing and I don't see a lot of evidence support it in many cases. I recall people trying to exaggerate Far Cry 5 going on sale shortly after release and its like the fastest selling Far Cry and best selling Far Cry in history, I don't really know if the whole "its on sale" angle really works on flop or not and we'd need the publisher to say so, but EA putting games on sale during the holidays is a given.

They should have known that would be the case cause when the fuck hasn't it been the case for this publisher? lol

BF5 is a great example too. No where near the top selling BF titles, so to see BF 2042 be one of the best launches moving massive units and also going on sale sorta shows it might not be based on any of that and simply them looking to boost those numbers regardless.

They were always going to want more, even if BF 2042 moved 7 million in a week, you'd likely still see a sale to get more during the holiday.

Sale doesn't mean price drop folks lol

AC Valhalla was the best launch of a AC title in history.....went on sale lol
Watchdogs 3 (to my understanding) did less then 2 at launch.....went on sale. lol Who knows folks.

(edit) ok I looked it up, Watchdogs 3 actually did better at launch then 2.... so this shows even more that sales might have little to do with how the game does as even the almighty GTA V went on sale the year it came out after launch.

So I don't really know, I think people just love the narrative that "ohhhh it did bad broz DATZ WHY DA SALEZ", but it sounds like its more so based on publisher. We've see sales for flops, we've seen sales for games that broke many a record, it simply sounds like it has to do with who published the game as we all know Ubisoft, EA, Sony love having those sales after release and from the best selling to the worst selling...we've still seen a sale, even from giants like Rockstar, even massive AAA IP like Call Of Duty, I don't know how big a IP needs to be to see like zero sales months or weeks after launch tbh.

Nintendo might be the only publisher in that area that does that, even with many publishers moving more units then them. So it sounds like its just based on publisher and what they are going for or something.

oh I was chiming in cause of the posts about the pricing. Not having anything to do with anything else. The game probably isn't a flop but I am sure that ea is reeling from the lost potential profit since it was posed to exceed previous BF titles by far.

Walmart is $49.96 now too. Strange that Amazon is still $60.

Sweet! More people can get this if they want.

I have a few hours of my EA Trial left on Xbox Series X, and yesterday I tried to get a game 3 different times and was stuck waiting with a squad of 4 different people for about 2-3 minutes each time.

Is the community that dead already?

Such a wild success that it's already going on sale

Season 9 Lol GIF by The Office

How is edmix going to spin this one 🤔
This is honestly the dumbest argument you could raise when trying to say a game is failing. Ubisoft puts 99% of their newly released games on sale around the holidays and those typically only released 2-3 months prior.

It's not about the sky is falling, it's about get new customers invested in the game and get the numbers up and hopefully collect more money on the backend through premium passes or dlc. I swear some of you have brains smoother than a wet balloon.

i don't think i've had a single game that wasn't 64v64 and no bots since launch and i play everyday, did you enable crossplay? i suggest you do.

After the buffs, the PKP shreds people. When you pull off a good flank and just open up with the 200 rounds. Can't stop shooting till you're out of ammo or there's no more enemies lol.

I forgot to pet robo dog last time I played though.

Damn I just checked Amazon here in the states and it's $39, that's what I paid on CDKeys for PC. It's well worth at minimum $40, especially now.

Edit: gamestop as well.

Yeah this is the price where I'm very tempted to jump in on, especially after these major updates that appears to have fixed a lot of technical and qol issues. The other core gameplay decisions I've previously whined about are more than likely never going to be changed so that's just something I'll have to adapt to.

How big of a deal is ceossplay anyways? Is it noticeable when someone is keyboard+mouse?
Depends, it's more noticeable for certain weapons or when fighting up close. Most BF players are trash with zero situational awareness anyway.

The biggest thing is the risk of some hacker bullshit, which I want to avoid.

I have had cross play off since day 1 and have no issue finding matches and have only seen a few bots.

You'll prob laugh but i own is on console and PC (im an idiot lol) and on console the recoil on weapons is non-existent compared to PC and on PC movement is better.

Id say flying is easier on Consoles too so its more of a preference. I do notice i get rekt sometimes by console players shooting from a distance due to lower recoil.

Why is nobody playing Portal? Tried playing Classic Rush (the playlist that goes through 1942, BC2 and BF3 maps) and I couldnt get in to a game with more than 10 people in it. Crossplay is on.

Not only that but with crossplay off, I had a hard time finding games of just regular conquest on PS5. I cant remember a BF game where I had this much hassle finding matches this close to launch...and they didnt even have the cross play option.

So essentially meh, I'll probably not even notice. Alright well since I have you on the line here, have they reinstated xp in Portal? Can I play it and level up now?

do you guys notice that a ton of people are really bad at the game?

I just don't get how my squad has like 3-4 kills in a whole match while i have 20-30 or more.

I dont even consider myself good at the game.

With new releases comes new consumers, so you'll see a lot of people not reviving or not giving out ammo or getting killed a lot lol

I'll have to put in a solid 30 or so hours before I give a full detailed impression, I might have some time next week to actually try it out.

I know sometimes I went all in on spotting or healing during my 10 hour trial and would many times have very few kill games.

Plus I got saddle a few times with bots and very poor ones at that
