Belatro is driving me insane.

Either way i don't think i agree with this list. For instance, those banana jokers, i don't think they are as strong.
The regular banana not really but the lightning one that has a 1:1000 chance of being destroyed, that one can very well be in your deck for awhile. Again its also luck, it can break/destroy just before you hit a extra high ante, then you are screwed no matter what.

Overall, I think it is a very solid list and as general rule of thumb for every tier list, is to not follow it blindly, but to always consider your game plan.
That said, straight up x3 no strings attached is still a very solid pick. Also, the reason I think it's considered high tier, is because of it's potential through blueprint and brainstorm (x9).

I'm not an "e" score player, my biggest hand so far is only 70 million. So i'm only average at best. But from what i have gathered so far, if you play smart enough RNG isn't really a thing, assuming your aim is to simply beat the game. Reaching the scores to beat the final bosses isn't really that hard and you have enough headroom for many mistakes and unlucky shop rolls.

RNG will mostly screw you in endless mode, where you need that last particular joker to appear in the shop and never does, no matter how much money/rerolls you may have.
I've not scored that high and I've not even come close to stuff like this:

I just discovered this game a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked.
I love it. Its the whole package, very chilled game. When you are not sure if your hand will make the score but just about knick it, is very satisfying. The sound effects get a special mention as well.

its an overrated game.

Its like what....80% RNG 20% skill game?

Based on what I've read about Balatro I think I prefer these card games in my life:

You won some ante 8 on the base difficulty and called it a day?
The challenge lies in clearing all the stakes on every deck, the challenges and beating ante 12+ with insane high scoring builds.
I guess so. But I didn’t feel like doing any of that.

I cleared almost every blind the first hand. They should’ve made it more challenging at the start, to my taste.

What's great about Balatro is that there are so many viable strategies to make it to the end of ante 8. I'd repeat the advice to pick a hand type early on and stick with it, using planet cards to boost it, and tarot and spectral packs to gear your deck towards being able to play it consistently.

Waiting for the update to hit before I go back, 424 hours to get the plat. Never cracked a 1bn point hand or saw an e number.

This deckbuilding poker roguelite called Belatro just had it's full release. I have put like 15 hours into it and still have not completed a run and I'm beyond frustrated. I feel like I can't think about anything else until I get a completed run under my belt but I just can't.

I've played a decent amount of poker. I've played MORE than a decent amount of rogelites/likes starting with the browser version of The Binding of Isaac back in the day. This game is breaking me.

My friends have all finished their runs within the first few hours with more after that and here I am with over a dozen hours and can't get past the 7th Ante (there are 8).

I understand all the mechanics of the game and often have runs where I'm winning every round in 1 or two hand with several times the size of the blind, but then one of the bosses will just fuck me.

Went on forums and Steam discussions to see what people's tips were. They're all things I've been doing. I haven't had single "aha, that's what I've been doing wrong" moment. I'm playing as optimally as feels possible and yet I can't fucking win.

I've never been this frustrated with a game in my life. I feel incredibly stupid.
That crappy game is very overrated.

Better play Black Jack or Poker.

Played it for the first time in ages yesterday. Had the Stencil joker, got the "makes a copy and destroy others" thing so I had 2 stencil jokers, and was playing on the deck that gives free doubles for skipping blinds, which I used on a negative to give me a choice of negative jokers for the next few shops.

Unfortunately the only joker was trash and I couldn't do enough with a mere x10 multi :messenger_pouting:

The tutorial doesn't teach you how to play poker, it teaches you the basics of the game.

Poker hands are easy to pick up and are in the hands section in the Run info on the left.

Watch a you tube video about the basics

Do you always give up so easily? Its very easy to grab the basics then down the rabbit hole you go.

Don't be afraid to swap jokers/strategy and look for combos that will serve you longer down the line and not only in the now. Also this might sound obvious but it's actually far from trivial, learn from your mistakes because you'll always be making lots of them. It's easy to gloss over every little mistake but really try to hammer into your head what went wrong and what you could have done different. It really matters. When you reach e numbers every little mistake you made from the start matters.
