Stop paying for this early bullshit and they'll stop doing it. Have some god damn patience.
It's a bonus now. In the digital future everyone wants people aren't getting physical goods anymore with their 100+ dollar "collectors edition" (which is, in short, retarded because WTF are you collecting lmao) so they have to entice you something else.

I still remember when people lost their shit over this.

I've never really been the one for early access. I think I've done it for a few games before but can't remember.
Last time I did it, was diablo 4. 20 extra for trash.

No thanks.

I'm always surprised to see people so against a 2 day pre-release with all the constant drama raised about supporting full price purchases. It's basically a 2 day theatrical release.

After 48 hours, there's no trace of impact on the game design at all. There's no lingering microtransaction or always online or anything that will impact it. It's just a straight up pay it to play now, or wait. I honestly can't find any fault with it. If you can't control your own FOMO, it's on you. Play something else for 2 days, or buy it.

I don’t see the issue either, it lets the game publishers eek out extra money without impacting prices for everyone else.

It’s just a two day wait time, usually on a Tuesday when people are sometimes too busy to even play

Why do yall care though? So what?! Just ignore it and get it on the "real" day-one.

So you see no problem with a game that is fully ready for release being gated(delayed) behind an extra $10 -$20 fee? What's stopping publishers from doing 1 month+ early access if we are all cool with it? I get it from a business perspective. Hell, if I we're a publisher, I'd try it too. But it's our job as the consumer to fight for our best interests.

Also, slight exaggeration but.........

Is it really good though?

Lots of Xbox folks hype up games like avowed, Starfield, and Hellblade and those were all big nopes to me.

I hope Indy isn’t some overrated title just because it was on Xbox first
It's basically Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay meets The Forgotten City. Really up to you if you like that kind of game.

When they get to a one month early "access" then we can revisit this. But 2 days is nothing.

I hope there will be physical copy. I love Indiana jones series that is why im also interested on this game.

Wow so many beautiful games coming up for Ps5. And they said this generation is the worse. I'm already saving up for Doom Dark ages, Ds2 and GTA6 (if it's 2025 the release date)and I'm still about to buy Astrobot this month.
I hope this gets a physical release as I would like to play this, but don't want to pay £70 for the digital version.
Loved Indiana Jones and if there is a physical copy on PS5 I'll grab it day one.
It's mentioned in the article linked in the OP that there will indeed be a physical release as well. 😎

Btw, billbil-kun gets his leaks from his contacts in the retail chain, so this info should be reliable.

To summarize, here is the list of physical editions that we have confirmed with their prices and release date:
  • Indiana Jones and the Ancient CircleStandard Edition : Releases April 17, 2025. Price: 79.99 euros / 69.99 pounds sterling / 69.99 US dollars.
  • Indiana Jones and the Ancient CirclePremium Edition : Released April 15, 2025. Price: 109.99 euros / 99.99 pounds sterling / 99.99 US dollars.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

The premium edition comes with more than just a 2 day early access though, it has the same kind of digital goodies most modern games' have in their deluxe editions.

Plus you get the first story DLC for free, whenever it launches.

But not for Forza Horizon 5? Weird
I think it's because FH5 is being published by the XGS arm of MS Gaming, while Indy is published by Bethesda (they still have their own publishing division according to this info-graphic by klobrille).

Doom The Dark Ages also has a physical release, but that one is available day and date on XBS, PS5, and PC.

In other words, XGS is lame. Got it. Thanks bro. :messenger_beaming:

Legit GoTY caliber game.
It'll nominate for sure but it won't win and it shouldn't. GOTY should go to games that excel across the board in all elements and Indy is unbalanced in that respect. Its simultaneously excellent and poor. Something like KCD2 is going to wipe the floor with Indi.

Might as well get use to it too. Your first bootup screen on PS5 for FH5 is "Do you have a Microsoft account?"

Huh? We were talking about physical versions of the games my man. I'm fine with logging into MS. I just hope I can still use my MS authenticator app. No idea what my password is anymore. lol

Really loved what I played of it, It was enought to make me stop and wait for the PS5 release. So I'm patiently waiting to restart and finish the game. My PC set-up is mid tier, so looking forward to doing the game justice. Hopefully Pro support.

The deluxe with early access is pretty scummy, especially since it's an older game. This is what developers think of us now, cash grabs and stupid desperate gamers.

Gamers fell asleep and allowed this bullshit to happen.

Even watching the first 2 hours on YT showed it's really mediocre.

Combat seems sluggish, animations are really basic and only saved by the lighting/RT, which makes them look better than they actually are and it's really the art direction that makes it somewhat interesting (though it all seems very sterile).
The game rocks and I did not play it on a maxed out PC but my XSX. Now, if the Pro update has even more RT improvements, even shorter loading times / even less asset streaming issues, and decent DualSense haptics… it should be awesome to replay. Great great game…

Hopefully they put the entire base game on disc.. Unfortunately the Xbox physical version requires an update to even play so it's basically a coaster

Of course it does, what else would you expect from Microsoft?

It’s terrible for preservation.

In a decade or two there will be no way of playing recentlt games from the likes of Ubisoft, EA and MS, they’ll be lost to history.

I actually think early access is less of an issue on old games. The game is all over the Internet already so it doesn't matter if you wait 2 more days.
