I can't imagine how sad someone's life must be where writing serious Amazon reviews for products they don't own is something they choose to do with their free time.

But.. It's not? What the hell lol. Metacritic's scale is clearly from 0 to 100.

This is definitely a 93, not a 9.3. Even if we were talking about something else, the difference between 95 and 93 is most certainly 2, not 0.2

Do any of these reviews mention the length of the game? The only thing that has kept me away form the Souls series is that I hear that it's like 40 hours just to beat the game, and I don't have that much time to put into one game. I assume Bloodborne is the same way.

They vary widely ... From 23 hours (from a vet who probably rushed to the finish line) to over 65.

Lol in name only. No amount of rebranding can hide that this is a souls game
Even the marketing makes it 100 percent clear that This is the next souls game. Not saying their wont be a dark souls 3, but this is for all purposes the 4th game in series, 3rd if you don't count dark souls 2. In fact, it's fair to say it's more of a souls game than dark souls 2

One reviewer said 22 hours, but others seem to say double that.

Yep, I was a fan of Dark Souls, but Demon's Souls got me in the jibblies.

I played Bloodborne for about 10 minutes last night and its all I can think about today.

I've never played any of these Dark Souls games so I'm just a little worried the game won't be for me. I might wait for a price drop before I dive in.

I know, I know, YouTube comments and all that, but GameXplain just released a video about this game and all of the comments are complaining how this game is "just" Dark Souls with a new coat of paint.

On a primarily Nintendo channel... lol

It's... really a souls game. Unapologetically so. It's more similar to past games in the Souls series than say, games within the call of duty series are to each other.

That's not a knock though. Game is stupendous.

The game has some very slight lore ties to Demon Souls too.

I gave it a zero.
The game is broken. The shield couldn't block anything, and barely has any function.
My HP keep reaching cost to zero with each block, and I was forced to use a pistol afterward to avoid this glitch. It is like the shield increases my damage taken.
After playing a while, I couldn't find a better shield.
Where are the shields? Bug? Did they remove it or did they forgot to add it?

Who cares if it's a new ip or a sequal to the souls game. Stop arguing. We now have one of the best games of all time on ps4. We should be rejoicing. Not getting into semantics arguments.

Ok so I don't know how the user reviews on Metacritic work, and hell I don't even care about Metacritic but I'm going to be pathetic here and ask.. If you look at the 0/10 reviews there's one that's the same review under two different user names, and 3 or 4 posts all featuring the same stupid plea for a PC release.

I take it surely that Metacritic police these reviews and knock out duplicates? It just seems a bit insulting to the devs that obvious trolls are knocking it down a point while the critics reviews are 100% positive... my unfairness alarm is ringing. And loudly.

Wow, a 93 so far on metacritic. Cool to see. My copy is going to arrive in a few hours, though I have to leave for work soon.

I am hoping this is not gonna be a case of: "everyone seems to love the game except me."

The reverse has already happened with a launch game this gen.

I don't think anyone is seriously basing their purchase on user reviews. At least I hope not.

They are just filled with troll reviews and that's the same on any site with user reviews.

It's crazy how a little under a year ago I was starving just to get a glimpse of the gameplay that was hidden behind doors at E3. Now the day has come when I can actually play it. Super pumped to get home with this game. I just hope my 4 month old son will cooperate and take some naps this evening :p

oh man I got caught bad once while checking out some statues in town. I have headphones on and sometimes these enemies man ... they don't hold back on the volume. I about shit my pants

I'm amazed that last year was dark souls 2 and this year is bloodborne and dark souls 2 on ps4. Honestly, after this next few weeks the souls series may dethrone zelda and dragon quest as my favorite series.

This is my first souls game that I've sunk into. I played DK1 on the pc for about an hour and liked it, but never went back. I've been playing since midnight, on and off cause of naps, haven't made a damn lick of progress. Great game, GOTY

This is not really a meaningful line of discussion but just to be clear...

93/100 = 9.3/10

Since its on a set scale it is a fraction of the whole and the same amount either way. 93/100 is 2/100 less than 95/100.

2% does not inherently equal 2.

I like the Poe's Law Metacritic ones too:

"Underwhelming graphics, an archaic and boring combat system, a heavy handed story, and a lack of challenge make Bloodborne a true successor in the Souls series. If this is the modern game, then modern gaming is not for me. This 'game' felt more like a cinematic experience than something playable. I can excuse the horrendous load times of Bloodborne, but I can not excuse its lack of gameplay and hand holding. I fear for the next generation of gamers."

Ohhhhh man! These review scores....wow. Looks like it's the best reviewed ps4 exclusive. I wasn't into demons souls or dark souls but shit from what I've seen from this game and based on how this game is reviewing I'll be picking this bad boy up today.
