I don't think that's such a problem. Fifa and Football manager fans are the best to review them as they pick up on downgrades and disappointments better than the oddness of putting a non-soccer fan up to review it.
I also don't think it's a problem.

My position is more that any voice, as long as they can adequately express their opinion, is welcome.

Actually, its playable at just over 5 gigs! Hurrah for that fast system they use.
Plus a 2.7gig day one patch for network play.

Ah man, you've just made my day, I bought 60 dollars in PSN cards, miraculously remembered my US account info from last gen, will be downloading soon and by the sounds of things, playing tonight!

show me a game that has as much geometry going on as what im seeing atm in Yharnam. Good luck.

there is a metric ton of stuff on screen at all times. including sections with 7-8 enemies at once or more.

game is absolutely beautiful. Best art direction ive seen in a long ass time. I've stood and stared at the intricate carvings within the steel of a lamppost far too long sometimes lol.
or all the statues around the first area, or the animations of the enemies. etc. brilliance

I can already tell I'm going to get distracted all the time. Will probably lead to a few deaths.

First review to punish it's difficulty? Reviewer sounds legitimately frustrated by dying over and over.

Their Germany site gave it a 9 - wonder which Metacritic will use, or both?

Gamereactor chose to withdraw their Metacritic presence some time ago because they got tired of encouraging the mindset of "if it's not the same score as the MC average then you did a bad job" that a lot of their userbase had been expressing.

Incidentally the comment section in that review is a war zone and the chief editor has said that they're going to heavily crack down on the terrible attitude.

Never played a souls game...so this will be my first.

Love Ninja Gaiden type action, so this might be up my street/

I am glad it came out well, not that I had many doubts. I am looking forward to get into the Souls series once I have the money out of college this summer.

I can't play the game until Wednesday, and these quotes from Jim Sterling's review has me going crazy:

"Though classified as action role-playing games, there’s a very serious case to be made for gathering the Souls series under the umbrella of survival horror. I’ve felt more genuine fear traversing Bloodborne’s funereal streets and dismal hallways than I have across countless installments of Resident Evil or Silent Hill, treading lightly in anticipation of the next ambush or deadly trap, real and intoxicating dread mounting as I push further and further from safety into the dingy unknown."

...

Bloodborne is every bit a psychological horror game as it is one about swinging swords and leveling up, perhaps one of the most effective horror experiences you could hope to have. It’s beautifully bleak, a sublime exercise in unyielding mental oppression. It’s a game so stressful it makes my neck hurt, and so brutal in its punishments that every success brings unmatched elation. Taking the very best of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, From Software has produced a near perfect example of its uniquely malevolent gameplay, all while amping up the brutality to stunning degrees."

This man gets it. And this is the game I've been waiting for since DeS.

I have to say that Jim Sterling's review holds the most weight for me. Both that I like his reviews and his comments about liking Demon's Souls more than Dark Souls.

I could just never get used to the open world from the hub world in Demon's Souls. Hearing that there is a hub again and lots of interconnected paths you unlock that make the world more navigable basically sells the game to me.

I pretty much have to play this, it's just a question of when I want to put up the money.
