Still waiting for the 4players review. One of the few trustworthy ones imo.
Glad to see it got so many good reviews so far though. Seems like this'll finally be the success to Dark Souls we always wanted.

4players is a review site from germany, they're pretty harsh on their ratings.
Yeah... Game could be shit, 90 from Jörg for sure.Still waiting for the 4players review. One of the few trustworthy ones imo.

No way it sustains that.
Guessing it will settle between 85-90, probably around an 89 like Demons and Dark

Nah, he's one of the few that doesn't dig into the hype. Easily seen by the fact that they take their time before they pump off their reviews - especially Jörg. That's why I trust his reviews.Yeah... Game could be shit, 90 from Jörg for sure.
Yes this is also a little bit what I fear. You can't score a From game low anymore because you'd lose gamer cred ®. What always irks me is that pedestrian games often get polarizing reviews, whereas games that should be polarizing often get a very egalitarian score. Like someone else said, you'd actually prefer a score in the eighties. Is this game too vanilla somehow?I can think of some reasons as to why. I mean, going into (technically) a Souls game and complaining it's too hard, would likely create a pretty big backlash with people questioning your skill as a gamer. And there's also the part where it's very much expected to be hard right from the start, it being the nature of the beast and all, so the mindset is probably different going into this.
But I'm just speculating here.
I think it's because the games are niche that they score so well, hear me out:
Many big publications that employ a good number of reviewers tend to be selective when awarding reviews for niche genres.
While anyone might review an accessible game like The Order, they will often give a racing game like Gran Turismo to someone who has both the necessary skillset and understanding of the genre.
Souls games fall in a similar category where they are almost a subgenre unto themselves and I suspect that many big sites have a pronounced fan of the series under their employ that will tackle the review. Because of this it's likely that the games are appreciated because the reviewer has a thorough understanding of what it set out to accomplish
Wow the game is out of stock on Amazon.
Yeah my pre-order got backordered. Amazon upped my shipping to 1 day when the next shipment comes in, and took $10 off my order. I thought I was getting away with robbery until I realized that they still had my business. I probably would have just cancelled and went to a store otherwise, but I can wait for $10 off. They know exactly what they're doing.

Except the MGS4 review that is. But I bet he's regretting that one to this day.
Oh yeah the clickbait reviews to profile some kind of antagonist mainstream agenda covered in shallow and contradicting reviwes. Worst gaming site in Germany by far.Still waiting for the 4players review. One of the few trustworthy ones imo.

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that they to clickbait.... They just don't dig into the hype. Every single time I thought they only rated a game low for clickbait I thought they were right once I finished it and reflected back.Oh yeah the clickbait reviews to profile some kind of antagonist mainstream agenda covered in shallow and contradicting reviwes. Yeah, thats my problem with 4players. Sure, some of the tests are good, even if I don't Agree with them. Good morning neogaf.

Yup, Jörg Luibl is one of very few persons in the gaming press whom I trust completely when it comes to reviewing the Souls games. This guy knows what he is talking about, also in general with regards to RPGs.
Great reviews so far. Can't wait to get my hands on the game.
Dat salt. lol
Here you see people who had their favorite games slammed by 4P. Funny shit.

After opening the shortcut gate at the start, do I need to go back to the dream to save it, or does it keep if i die?
