Nah, he's one of the few that doesn't dig into the hype. Easily seen by the fact that they take their time before they pump off their reviews - especially Jörg. That's why I trust his reviews.
Except the MGS4 review that is. But I bet he's regretting that one to this day.
Yes this is also a little bit what I fear. You can't score a From game low anymore because you'd lose gamer cred ®. What always irks me is that pedestrian games often get polarizing reviews, whereas games that should be polarizing often get a very egalitarian score. Like someone else said, you'd actually prefer a score in the eighties. Is this game too vanilla somehow?
Though I guess the following is also a very good (possibly better) explanation. It certainly seems to be the case with the reviews I read so far.
Yeah my pre-order got backordered. Amazon upped my shipping to 1 day when the next shipment comes in, and took $10 off my order. I thought I was getting away with robbery until I realized that they still had my business. I probably would have just cancelled and went to a store otherwise, but I can wait for $10 off. They know exactly what they're doing.
The "amban" caught me off guard. Holy shit I'm dead.
My order status still "arrive today by 8".
I had the same situation as yours with Ground Zeroes and they gave me $10 but they told me it won't arrive for a week so I took the $10 and bought the game form GameStop.

Oh yeah the clickbait reviews to profile some kind of antagonist mainstream agenda covered in shallow and contradicting reviwes. Worst gaming site in Germany by far.
Yup, Jörg Luibl is one of very few persons in the gaming press whom I trust completely when it comes to reviewing the Souls games. This guy knows what he is talking about, also in general with regards to RPGs.

Pretty awesome to see. Miyazaki and team must feel great about this response.
As someone who's been playing FROM Software games since the mid-90s, it's great seeing them finally succeed on a global scale and I'm glad they've been able to consistently deliver since then. It feels like the company has been trying relentlessly for decades and they finally hit it big with Demon's and Dark Souls.

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that they to clickbait.... They just don't dig into the hype. Every single time I thought they only rated a game low for clickbait I thought they were right once I finished it and reflected back.

Yeah, thats my problem with 4players. Sure, some of the tests are good, even if I don't Agree with them. But they had a view clickbaitreviews in the past.

I can't hide the fact that I feel somewhat relieved at seeing those high review scores!
I never really doubted Miyazaki and his team despite their new game design angle in some areas, nor would I not have tried the game if scores had been lower, but it does feel reassuring nonetheless now that the game is officially liked by the press as well. I'm shallow that way, I guess.
(I'm also cynical and self-centered enough at this point to expect the game I bought a PS4 for to suck just so I can regret my purchase...which is luckily avoided here...)
