That’s all it comes down to really.Because they paid for expensive properties that are now empty

What? . It’s literally a boat load of industries right now. What are you talking about?….ohhhh, alt account, I get it.Oh so you’re just a hater in general. I gotcha.
It's crazy how untrue this is. The games released during lockdown were well into development before the pandemic. Games are a 4+ year cycle now.
So they would prefer productivity and quality of goods/service to decrease? Doesn't make sense.Because they paid for expensive properties that are now empty
But we have to think about dev timelines. Games that released then were already almost done. Games now, just started during. There were better games released during full WFH lockdowns than there are now with most back to the office arrangements
I support this. Get to fuckin work.
Crunch that ass.
Projecting their own shitty job satisfaction/experience.What’s with Gaf’s hate boner against remote work lol?
No, home office doesn't affect effectivity. No!
I live in Germany. I'm an hearing aid seller. Homeoffice is not possible, cause people need the assistance to achieve the ability to handle their stuff.
Homeoffice is not an option. An that's the biggest benefit of my job.
Cause I can earn all the thing that are important in human life!
Having contact, in reality, with other people, talk to them, seeing their reaction, feeling their reaction, shaking hands.
Homeoffice is like a prison. And maaaaany people go to prison voluntarily.
At least this whole homeoffice shit, is good for me, cause I feel that people searching direct contact. And I am able to give it!
I belive in ten years half of the people can't read the emotion in the face of the human being in front of him!
You don't know what the margins are, a slight decrease in productivity could well be worth the offset cost of their leases. So they would prefer productivity and quality of goods/service to decrease? Doesn't make sense.
In my line of work.. there was so much damn distraction including people with families and kids breaking into zoom meeting, to where a 1 hour meeting would turn to 2, and we still wouldn’t touch on the topics. Not where I live, people tend to be more productive due to working longer hours at home, and the reason they work longer hours is because they have less distractions, and no transport to and from the office eating up their time.
I don’t even care if they’re happy or not, they should just make my fuckin game.Preach
If employees are happy then something is wrong
Elden Ring was released during peak covid. But we have to think about dev timelines. Games that released then were already almost done. Games now, just started during.
If you would just buy a PS5, we could counter this problemGreat
Next step is 8 day work weeks
Sounds like a management issue and not a remote issue, set some boundaries and enforce them, you're at work not getting paid to play with your family; if your team couldn't set those policies, it's a you problem, we have none of those.there was so much damn distraction including people with families and kids breaking into zoom meeting, to where a 1 hour meeting would turn to 2, and we still wouldn’t touch on the topics.
Absolutely …and it was started 3+ years ahead of it. That’s my exact point here if you read my other posts in the thread.Elden Ring was released during peak covid.

Once people with small children begin to work from home, they stop paying for daycare and do part-time work for their employer while also doing part-time work as a child-rearer while being paid for full-time hours. Doesn't seem remotely fair for any business. In my line of work.. there was so much damn distraction including people with families and kids breaking into zoom meeting, to where a 1 hour meeting would turn to 2, and we still wouldn’t touch on the topics.

Hard to manage people when they are within the confines of their homes. It's difficult enough when they are in the office.Sounds like a management issue and not a remote issue, set some boundaries and enforce them, you're at work not getting paid to play with your family; if your team couldn't set those policies, it's a you problem, we have none of those.
Exactly my point.Once people with small children begin to work from home, they stop paying for daycare and do part-time work for their employer while also doing part-time work as a child-rearer while being paid for full-time hours. Doesn't seem remotely fair for any business.
Actually my mistake. I for some reason thought it released on Feb 21 and not 22. I stand corrected. But ER is an outlierNo they weren’t almost done at all
That’s a flat out lie
It's not hard at all, you're employed so you do what your boss says; if you keep playing around with yout family on zoom meetings, and your lead doesn't tell you that needs to stop, then it's a management issue.Hard to manage people when they are within the confines of their homes. It's difficult enough when they are in the office.

Too many people are not responsible enough to put in the work at homeRemote work enables:
Remote meetings, screen sharing, less commute, less stress, more potential to exercise or rest (due to lack of commute), less bullshit water cooler talk that’s completely unproductive
It can for certain people, the problem is you want those people in the office to influence other people to do work, and so everyone can benefit from their knowledge and understanding. You won't stop me from thinking that full remote and productivity cannot belong in the same sentence.
Too many people are not responsible enough to put in the work at home
I wont go into details because I have zero receipts but what a year or so ago Activision did the same and it was not because work was improving while people stayed home
To an extent back when I played Baseball in the offseason many teams would have non mandatory programs and so many guys were like "I will put in the work at home" and show up to camp 20 lbs heavier and not in shape.
Andddd…that’s the problem. Management was doing the same thing. That’s why it’s an issue now. It's not hard at all, you're employed so you do what your boss says; if you keep playing around with yout family on zoom meetings, and your lead doesn't tell you that needs to stop, then it's a management issue.
Then complain to hr, or your people team or culture club i dunno, shit doesn't have to be an issue and certainly wasn't an issue for us.Andddd…that’s the problem. Management was doing the same thing. That’s why it’s an issue now.
What? . It’s literally a boat load of industries right now. What are you talking about?….ohhhh, alt account, I get it.
Just saying there is a group of people that actually need that structure and likely need the actual daily human interactions not just over a screenThere’s plenty of baseball players who are fat as fuck on the job right now like Vogelbach.
The true professionals put in the work
If you can’t be trusted at home you likely aren’t to be trusted at work either
I’m just saying 5 days return to office versus hybrid is that out dumb for most workers
Yup. Like divorces, lay offs are contagious.very very smart fear tactic to announce this at this moment.
But my point is…it’s an issue with a lot of companies clearly. Hence the threadThen complain to hr, or your people team or culture club i dunno, shit doesn't have to be an issue and certainly wasn't an issue for us.
No I get it. You are a troll with no point. Leave it alone my guy. Your initial response was basic and had no point other than to sound like an alt account. When that happens…just leave it alone, please.Sorry the nerd in me isn’t strong enough to have alt accounts. If you couldn’t understand my point then that’s on you.
A lot? There are tens of millions, if not more, companies around the world, you literally cannot know if it's an "issue" with "a lot".But my point is…it’s an issue with a lot of companies clearly. Hence the thread
literally hundreds of thousands of companies have been forcing their employees back into the office for the last year+…what are you talking about? Gaf isn’t the only news outlet or truth. This has been a debate for the last almost two years.A lot? There are tens of millions, if not more, companies around the world, you literally cannot know if it's an "issue" with "a lot".
