Preordered this last night, I'm super hyped for it's release.
Also the preorder bonus theme is gorgeous.

Destructoid reviewer said there was a reason to replay it but he didn't want to because the game wasn't good enough to demand it. But he also said some shit about PoP 2008 that I don't remember that game doing so who knows.
Sounds like an improvement over Datura, at least.
In retrospect, I feel like Datura would have been better off as a VR project.
From the Videogamer review...
Soooo tempted to spoil myself on this.

That doesn't sound like the reviewer has some sort of bitter predisposition against AAA. /s
Get over yourself, dude. Artsy games are accepted fine (maybe even better than AAA) in the current climate. You're not some snowflake.
I captured a few minutes of spoiler-free gameplay if anyone's interested. I spliced it so there's no story stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f213IT-65cs
The animations are by far the best thing about this game. Ridiculously pretty.
Not in review threads my friend. One or two 5 or 6/10 in a sea of high scores is either "all over the place" or a "mediocre" game.
haha yeah this review is terrible. I remember playing my first indie game!Opening of Digitally Downloaded...

Ok thanks.I'm pretty sure this video spoils that.

Call me old and jaded but this kind of experimental / original idea is what keeps my interest in videogames going these days. I still, enoy the Uncharteds, Halo's but I need these unique games too.

Dang, this and Abzu have disappointed critically. Not quite what Sony was hoping for, I'm sure. I'll get them both when 50% off.
Disappointed? I thought abzu did well in reviews and this seems to landing around a 7, these are very small indie titles something the reviewing media still have trouble with scoring.Dang, this and Abzu have disappointed critically. Oh stop. Being a unique game doesn't automatically mean 9s and 10s on principle. In 2016, when SO many games are doing unique things there are those that are better at succeeding with they do uniquely than others and thus get better reviews. Like Journey or Inside. Even triple A games are more diverse than they've ever been.I'm more disappointed in the review outlets that apparently still favor flavorless AAA mush over games that try to do something different.
It also does that Prince of Persia 2008 thing where you fall to your death, even if a ledge is only a few feet away, because the game just doesn't want you to go there.
They don't, but they also don't deserve docking points because some people might not like it, or are too short, or lack mechanical depth, when all of these things don't matter for the kind of game that they're trying to be. Even here you see a lot of reviews talking about the lack of challenge in this notgame. I haven't played it, so it may well be grating and the critique warranted, but I meant that I hoped reviewers were past this 'objective reviewing' by now.Oh stop. If you haven't even played it then ffs that makes your assertion that the reviewers didn't know how to review the game or don't understand small artsy games because they want triple A is incredibly ridiculous. And it doesn't matter if you don't agree, triple A games ARE way more diverse than they were in the past. I was replying to a post about Abzu and No Man's Sky. Which by the way I 'only' consider 8/10 games myself, but at least better than most other games I played this year. But you can simply read in the reviews, glowering praise, not so high score. If you haven't even played it then ffs that makes your assertion that the reviewers didn't know how to review the game or don't understand small artsy games because they want triple A is incredibly ridiculous.
If you only look back a couple of years maybe. It used to be the case that AAA was where all the exciting innovation took place, now they are mostly safe affairs copying off each other and intent on checking boxes, collapsing under the weight of their own production budgets. This is not a minority opinion, yours is.And it doesn't matter if you don't agree, triple A games ARE way more diverse than they were in the past. And for good reason.
